The Murray Hotel has remained a consistent attraction in the heart of downtown Livingston, Montana since it first opened in the summer of 1904. In keeping up with the ever-evolving guest expectations when it comes to hospitality, The Murray has been tastefully renovated down from fifty-two rooms in the building proper with today's vision of the hotel containing twenty-five guest rooms and suites, plus a few offices.
Each accommodation has its own bathroom, modern heating/cooling amenities, and access to the hotel's WiFi network. Suites are more spacious with the majority of them having a separate sitting area for relaxing or entertaining guests and a kitchenette for either sharing a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. The Murray holds great pride in its decor which focuses on providing warmth and comfort for those who stay here but still maintains a nod to the timeless heydays of easy-going cowboys in the Wild West and the railroad tourism of the twentieth century which originally breathed life into the cozy little town of Livingston. There is no standard room look at The Murray; every room has its own style to make each more inviting and memorable for our discerning guests.
A rooftop patio off of the fourth floor offers a wondrous view of the town center and the surrounding mountains where guests are welcome to bring up drinks and commiserate with friends and family. Our Mezzanine also has a small office space where guests may print out boarding passes or check their emails. The area also has a simple sitting space where guests may read the Livingston Enterprise or Bozeman Chronicle. Three restaurants onnect with the grand lobby of the hotel with the superb 2nd Street Bistro providing classy French and Italian cuisine. Classic American bar fare may be enjoyed in The Murray Bar along with cocktails, local Montana beer, and you can boogie down with live music which plays almost every night. Start off the day right with fresh breakfast or brunch in Gil's Goods Cafe, where guests may partake in any of the pastries and baked goods handmade daily in-house.

CANCELLATION POLICY (April thru September): Shouldyour plans to visit the Murray change, please call the front desk at least 48hours prior to your check-in time (5pm) with your cancellation. Your reservation will be cancelled at no charge to you if you call before this2-day window. If you do not call, do not arrive, and we cannotresell the room for your arriving evening, your credit card will be charged forthe first night's stay and the remainder will be cancelled. If we do resell theroom for the night of arrival you will not be charged, and we will cancel theremainder of your stay. The purpose of this policy is to encourage you tonotify us if you are not coming.
CANCELLATION POLICY (October thru March): Should your plansto visit the Murray change, please call the front desk at least 24hours prior to your check-in time (5pm) with your cancellation. Your reservationwill be cancelled at no charge to you if you call before this1-day window, however we are under the impression that you are aware thatit snows in Montana. Lastminute cancellations due to the winter weather will still be charged in fullfor the night of arrival, the remainder of the reservation will be cancelled. If you do not call, donot arrive, and we cannot resell the room for your arriving evening, yourcredit card will be charged for the first night's stay and the remainder willbe cancelled. The purpose of this policy is to encourage you to notify us ifyou are not coming.
MULTIPLE NIGHT MODIFICATION: If you are stayingmultiple nights and wish to cut your stay short please let us know either at check-inor give us at least a 24-hour warning prior to the check-out time(11 am) of the day you wish to leave. Failure to do so and we maycharge you one additional night.
EXPEDIA: In an effort to sell more rooms online,Expedia may not always report the full charges that may be included in thetotal and may give you a smaller amount due than the hotel actually charges. Ifin doubt, it may be beneficial to book directly with the front desk or throughour website murrayhotel.com.
Terms and Conditions
PETS: We do welcome your pets at the Murray Hotel, however not all of our rooms are pet friendly. Please notify us if you are travelling with your pet. There is a flat $35 cleaning fee for having pets. (An additional $15 charge for each pet after two with a maximum of 4 allowed). Please understand that you are financially liable for any damage done by the pet on hotel premises and a charge of $70 will be placed on your credit card if you have not notified the hotel before or at check-in of any pet(s) with you.
DINNER RESERVATIONS: If you would like to book a dinner reservation at the 2nd Street Bistro, connected to the lobby of The Murray Hotel, please either call (406) 222-9463, or you may book online by emailing 2SBReservations@gmail.com.
NOISE: Standard Rooms 204, 215, 222, and 223 are located in close proximity to The Murray Bar below and are discounted because they have the potential of being the noisiest on a particularly lively night. Please note that you may be sacrificing comfort for cost and any noise complaints we receive from these rooms will be considered, but any refunds or a further discount won't be guaranteed.
SMOKING: We do not allow smoking in any of our rooms. Please be aware that if you will be asked to leave if you are caught smoking on property. If there is any evidence of smoking or smoking paraphernalia found in the accommodation after you have checked out we reserve the right to charge you a fee equivalent to the next evening's stay to be posted on your account the day of vacancy.
PARKING: We do not have our own privateparking lot. Currently there is construction happening in Livingston that haslimited our parking situation even more. Guests may park on thestreets in downtown around the hotel. These spaces have a 2-hour parking limitbetween 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Saturday. Starting at 3:00pm you may parkovernight on the street until 11:00am the following day before you must moveit. Across from The Murray Bar and Gil’s Goods on the southbound side of ParkStreet, any guest may park their vehicle at any time as the 2-hour parking lawis not in effect. Guests may also park in the Depot gravel parking lot directlyacross from Gil’s Goods on Park Street. The first seven spaces are for theDepot, but the remaining lot is free for use if there is not an event scheduledand occupying the space. And finally, the lot directly behind The Murray Hotelis property of the American Bank and is not property of the hotel. Starting at5:00pm guests may park there overnight Sunday through Thursday if they movetheir car by 8:00am the following morning. The bank is not open on the weekendshowever, so the lot is free to occupy Friday nights 5:00pm until Mondaymorning, 8:00am. These are the only parking options available to you here, andwe agree wholeheartedly that this can be an inconvenience since we have carstoo! Please understand that we do not have any control on this situation, andwe hope that your experience in Livingston is a pleasurable one.
