From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you will be making memories to last a lifetime during your stay at Luz en el Cielo. We offer a range of accommodation styles from basic dorms to a fully equipped house. A full breakfast and freshly brewed coffee is included after each night stay. We can give you the best rates of the year! During this time period the two private houses and private cabinas will be available and rented by themselves. No kitchen communal kitchen access will be available for the private cabinas. The houses have their own private kitchens. No breakfast will be served during this time.

Property and Cancelation Policies :
Luz en el Cielo’s CANCELATION POLICY:  No exceptions will be granted for cancelation charges. Any portion of your reservation must be canceled at least 72 hours before 12:00pm (local time) prior to your arrival date. The cancellation must be made either by phone or email, and you must receive a cancellation confirmation email from Luz en el Cielo, in order for the cancellation to be valid. Proper notice of cancellation is made without charge. Cancellations made with less than (72 hours) 3 days notice or which do not follow cancellation procedures will be charged the full amount of the reservation. Special events, peak season (Dec.20th- Jan 20th) reservations, and groups booking blocks of (2) rooms or more ARE FINAL. Guests who cancel these reservations are responsible for payment of the entire reservation charge, regardless of actual arrival or departure date. Luz en el Cielo, reserves the right to cancel or otherwise modify any reservation at its sole and absolute discretion.

All deposits are final. We do not refund deposits. If your plans change and you would like to use your deposit for another check-in date, we require 72 hours notice**. If you fail to check-in or do not notify us at least 72 hours prior to 11AM the day of the reservation, we will no longer apply your deposit to different date.  After the 72 hour grace period, no refunds will be issued nor will the deposit be applicable to a different date. Additionally, all reservations of five or more people (in the dorms) or room blocks of 2 or more rooms, are non-transferable after deposit is made. Luz en el Cielo reserves the right to apply your deposit to any part of your reservation (first or last nights). IF you do not arrive on your check-in dated reserve we will apply your deposit to the first night. If you do not inform us of change of check-out date within the required 72 hour grace period, or after check-in,  we reserve the right to apply your deposit to your last night.

**Any reservations made for a stay during our peak season (Dec. 20th- January 20th), Semana Santa (Holy Week), 
all reservations of five or more people (in the dorms) or room blocks of 2 or more rooms, require deposit of the entire stay. This deposit is non-refundable and can not be applied to different datesPlease inform us in advance of changes in your travel plans so we can do our best to accommodate them.

Covid-19 - All standard cancelations politics apply. If travel restrictions are in place when your reservation is scheduled to occur, we will make full refunds. No other exemptions will apply.

Terms and Conditions

GREEN SEASON: August 14th - November 20th,  -  The two houses and four private cabinas are the ONLY accommodations open during the time you will be staying with us. You will enjoy a very private, quiet experience at Luz en el Cielo! BREAKFAST IS NOT BEING SERVED during the GREEN season and there is NO ACCESS TO THE LODGE, which includes the communal kitchen. Please note, the private houses have their own kitchens.


A: HOURS:

Office hours: 8am-10:00pm
Kitchen hours: 10am- 9:00pm
Breakfast- 8am-10am
Quiet hours: 10:30pm -8am

Check-in: 2pm
Check-out: 11am

(You must check out of room by 11 am, otherwise we reserve the right to charge for an additional night. Please inform us if you will require a late check-out, one night prior.)


B: TERMS OF PAYMENT:

All nights need to be paid upon check-in. If all nights are not paid, we reserve the right to void previously reserved nights from our reservation system, until paid.

All deposits are final. We DO NOT refund deposits. If your plans change and you would like to use your deposit for another check-in date, we require 78 hours notice**. If you fail to check-in or do not notify us at least 72 hours prior to 11AM the day of the reservation, we will no longer apply your deposit to different date. After the 72 hour grace period, the deposit will not be applicable to a different date. Additionally, all reservations of five or more people are non-transferable after deposit is made.

Luz en el Cielo may, in its sole discretion, round up or round down amounts that are payable from or to Guests or to the nearest whole functional base unit in which the currency is denominated (e.g. to the nearest dollar, Colone); for example, Luz en el Cielo will round up an amount of $101.50 to $102.00, and $101.49 to $101.00.
Colones are denominated in large numbers. In these cases, Luz en el Cielo may determine the functional base unit in which those currencies are denominated to be 100 of the currency; the corresponding examples for such currencies would be for Luz en el Cielo to round up an amount of 35,450 up to 35,500 and 35,449 down to 35,400.

Luz en el Cielo reserves the right to modify its rates for economic purposes, such as currency fluctuations, inflation, or an increase in supplier costs. Any changes in rates will not retroactively affect bookings that have already been confirmed by Luz en el Cielo.
In the event that Luz en el Cielo, under exceptional circumstances, is unable to provide the client with the agreed rooms on arrival, Luz en el Cielo shall locate another room of equal or superior quality at no extra charge. This shall be done only with the agreement of the client.



CANCELATIOS OR CHANGES IN RESERVATIONS:

Cancellations and changes must be sent in by email to Luz en el Cielo and are only valid if confirmed my email by Luz en el Cielo.

Luz en el Cielo reserves the right to apply your deposit to either the first or last night of your reservation. IF you do not arrive on your check-in dated reserve we will apply your deposit to the first night. If you do not inform us of change of check-out date within the required 72 hour grace period, or after check-in, we reserve the right to apply your deposit to your last night.

C: HOUSE RULES:

Please do not take any dishes out of the lodge.
Please wash sand off in outdoor shower before taking a shower. Sand will clog our pipes!
Please do not throw toilet paper in the toilet. It needs to go in the trash can. (Septic systems don’t work well with the paper)
Please do not feed the monkeys or any other animals.
Please DO NOT leave food out. It will attract animals and insects.
All non-paying guests need to be checked in at reception. ( No non-paying guests are allows on the premises between the hours of 9pm and 8am.
Please do not take house towels to the beach. If you do, we reserve the right to charge for it.
Please respect other guests and their belongings.

D: CHILDREN
Children under the age of 2 stay for free.
Child rates apply to children under the age of 12.
No persons under 16 years of age are allowed to stay in any of our dorm options.

E. DAMAGE
Luz en el Cielo deserves the right to charge guests for any unnecessary damage. If damage occurs, you will be written a letter with description and your credit card on file will be charged the necessary amount.
