Mobay Kotch is one of the only hostels located in the heart of Montego Bay, Jamaica. It is owned and run by locals who live on property and wants travelers to experience and see the Jamaica that they know and love. As a result of its unique location, travelers can experience the two faces that Montego Bay and the surrounding areas have to offer which include experiencing the hustle and bustle and sometimes chaotic life as locals know it and / or relaxing on the white sand beaches and exploring the city and surrounding areas.
One of Mobay Kotch's charm is that it's located at the landmark, recognized in travel guide books, as 'the Townhouse'. Established in 1760's, this townhouse has a very rich in history and has withstood the test of time. It stands out because of its Georgian style architecture. With its distinct red brick exterior, high ceilings, wooden floors and grand windows, the property gives a feeling of being very open and airy while maintaining a sense of privacy and security.
Mobay Kotch offers dormitory room and private rooms to ensure all of your needs are met! The main building is designated non-smoking with designated smoking areas located in the outside areas. There is also free access to full kitchen facilities and laundry for a small charge. WiFi is available in the outdoor common area which also double as the main hang out spot for guests when they are on property. The reception opening hours are from 6:30 AM to 10 PM.

Property and Cancelation Policies :
Partial Charge - First Night Stay - If confirmed reservation has been cancelled within 2 days of arrival.
No Show Fee
Full charge - Total Stay (100% booking total) - If the guest does not check in on the confirmed arrival date and no communication has been received up to 2 days prior to the confirmed arrival date to either cancel the confirmed booking or to modify / adjust the confirmed arrival date.
Booking Modification Fee
Partial Charge - One Night Stay - If any adjustments are made to either the confirmed arrival and or departure date prior to 1 day of arrival or after the guest has checked in to property. This charge does not apply to any modifications that relate to extensions of stay.
Terms and Conditions
Prices and Taxes
The prices for all accommodation types offered at Mobay Kotch are stated in United States Dollar (USD) on a per night basis. The prices are not inclusive of the room tax of USD$1 per night per private room / bed (dorm room). This tax will be added to the total of the confirmed booking room rate calculated on a per night basis.

All payments for confirmed bookings are expected to be completed by the latest check in.
As it relates to cash payments, the main currencies accepted are USD and the local JMD. We do also accept EURO and GPB. All payments made in currencies excluding the USD, which the rooms are quoted in, are converted using the daily bank rate.

Check out time: 10 AM (daily)
There will always be staff on property to facilitate all guests even if there are not located at reception.
Mobay Kotch does not facilitate a late check out but it does allow the guests to leave their belongings in a secured area on property after the designed check out time. This helps to facilitate guests that have afternoon flights, late buses or simply just want to continue to explore the area prior to moving onto their next destination in Jamaica without having to take their belongings with them.
Lost Keys
All confirmed guests are issued keys for both their room and property at check in. The guests are fully responsible for those keys for the duration of their stay with the keys to be returned at check out. In the instance that the keys are not returned at check out, the guest is subject to pay a lost key fee of USD$25.
Parking
Available parking on property is limited. Please contact us prior to arrival to request a parking space at a small charge per night. There is also free public parking available on the street.
Mobay Kotch does not bear any liability to any damage to a guest's car that is not parked on property, nor do we take bear any liability for the damage of a guest's car while parked on property and it was being driven by the guest.
Laundry Services
Mobay Kotch does allow its guests access to a washing machine to do laundry. The cost to do the laundry is JMD$600 per load.
All laundry is line dried. All guests are responsible for their laundry which includes removing their clothes from the washing machine when the washing cycle is finished and removing their clothes from the line when dried. All laundry left on the clothes line for more than 2 days are subject to disposal.
Communal Kitchen
All guests have access to a communal kitchen which they can use to cook, store their food items in either the pantry or communal fridge. The guests are responsible to clean up after themselves when they use the kitchen facilities. The guests are also responsible to remove their food items stored in the fridge at check out.

Dispute Resolution / Problems while at Mobay Kotch
In the instance that the guests have any disputes or problems during their stay, the matter should be reported management so that it can be investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
Use of Personal Information
All guest information received during the booking process is confidential and will not be used for any other purpose.
