** WE CANNOT ACCEPT RESIDENTS OF PULASKI COUNTY**
The Little Rock Firehouse Museum and Hostel is located within historic MacArthur Park situated in downtown Little Rock. The Firehouse Museum & Hostel was created out of the lovingly restored old Firehouse #2 which is a 1917 Craftsman-style structure. Our mission is to "provide a sharing environment where cultures blend in learning about ourselves and the history of firefighting within the walls of a hostel.” In recent years, we have adapted our focus to also promote the shared environment via cycling tourism. The Hostel has a Men's dorm (14 beds), a Women's dorm (12 beds), a Co-ed dorm (6 beds), and a private Captains Room (2 beds and bathroom). The Men's dorm and Women's dorm (LOCATED UP STAIRS) are the two original dorms where the firefighters, between 1917 and 1957, would have also slept while the Co-ed and private Captains Room have been created out of the original covered drives that accessed the bay doors.
Our Firehouse Museum & Hostel is conveniently located in Down Town area, within walking and riding distance to dining, shopping, entertainment, and the Little Rock Millennium Trail (locally called the River Trail). The River Trail is a paved pedestrian and cycling trail that runs on the Little Rock and North Little Rock sides of the river and connects out west at the Big Dam Bridge (BDB). On the south side of the BDB, one can also ride further west to Two Rivers Bridge. At this point one can either hit the new River Mountain MTB trails built by Arkansas State Parks, one of several they have constructed across the state designated as Monument Trails, or continue over the pedestrian bridge into Two Rivers Park. Going over the bridge will take you further west and out to Pinnacle Mountain State Park and there one can hit the Pinnacle Mountain State Park Monument Trail. The route between Two Rivers Park and Pinnacle Mountain State Park will be on public roads but there is a bike lane provided and is safe to ride.
We welcome all travelers from OUTSIDE of Pulaski County, Arkansas whether one is traveling by plane, car, bike, or on foot. If you are traveling by bike or have a bike with you, there is plenty of room inside the hostel for safe storage. As part of your stay, the hostel provides free off-road and designated parking, free wi-fi, and free continental breakfast.
