Douglas Guest House is a small property where every guest reservation is important to us. Last-minute changes or cancellations significantly affect our business. Making a reservation at bed and breakfast is not the same as making a hotel reservation.
When you reserve a room, we agree to turn away all other requests for that room, and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve it. A last-minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room.
For this reason, we uphold strict reservation and cancellation policies.

Cancellations / modifications are allowed up to 3 days (72 hours) before the date of arrival. No fees will be charged, after which your reservation becomes non-refundable.

Terms and Conditions
PAYMENTS AND EXTRA CHARGES
The guest's information and credit card name must match. If the credit card belongs to another person, their signed authorization is required to maintain the reservation. If we do not have the authorization form prior to two days arrival, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to a lack of authorized documentation.
Payments: The total amount of your invoice will be charged to the credit card we have on file within 48 hours before the arrival date.
Reservations made on the same day: If the credit card is rejected when charged, the reservation will be cancelled instantly
Declined Payments: If your credit card is declined, we will send you an email requesting new credit card information. If we do not receive any information from you within the next 24 hours, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation.
Credit cards we accept: Visa & MasterCard
Please note that we charge in Canadian dollars, and your credit card company is responsible for the exchange conversions.
The base rate is for a maximum of 2 guests. Some rooms allow extra guests at CAD$40.00 per person per night.
Unregistered Guest: Occupancy is limited; failure to comply will result in a fine. If guests exceed the limit, contact us to find another room.
Taxes: We charge a total of 19.18% taxes. 8% provincial sales tax (PST) + 3% Vancouver municipal and regional district tax (MRDT) + 2.5% Major Events MRDT + 5% GST (on the purchase price, PST, MRDT, Major Events MRDT).

Douglas House offers limited free parking on a first-come, first-served basis for one car per room only.
Parking is available from 3 pm on check-in day until 11 am on check-out day.

• Early check-in
Although early check-in is not available, we can store your luggage in our common areas if you arrive between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Late check-in
This is only available with prior authorization; you must contact us one day before your arrival or reply to the message you will receive welcoming you a day before check-in at 9 a.m. PST.
**Same-day reservations must be check-in before 4:30 pm. These policies don't apply to our distinguished guests.

We kindly request that guests departing before 8 am be considerate of others and keep noise levels to a minimum.
• Late check-out ( Not Allowed)
If you pass the designated check-out time of 11 a.m., we will contact you using the information on file. If we have not received a response after one hour, we reserve the right to enter the unit, remove your belongings, change the locks, and take any additional measures we deem appropriate. We will also charge a penalty of half a day's stay for late departure.

We offer an internet connection as a complimentary service; we do not charge any extra fee. For this reason, we are not responsible for temporary bad connections or problems caused by the internet provider.

COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST 8 AM TO 10 AM
🌿 Low Season: Enjoy a delicious continental breakfast with coffee, tea, juice, bread, butter, jam, yogurt, cereal and fruit.
🏡 High Season: We treat you to a Lacto-Ovo-vegetarian breakfast. You can choose from various egg dishes, including omelets cooked to your liking, pancakes, and French toast.
We have a self-serve area where you can find freshly baked croissants, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, milk, juice, tea, and coffee.
QUIET HOURS
10:00 pm to 8:00 am
Considering that it is a house made in the early 1900s and respecting our guests' peace, the noise must be minimal from 10 pm to 8 am.
NO GATHERINGS
The rooms are limited to registered occupants. Visitors are allowed outside the quiet hours only.
SMOKING FREE PROPERTY
All areas, including the room smoking-free, vaping-free and cannabis-free. Per Vancouver City law, smokers must be at least 7 meters from the entire property.
PETS (NOT ALLOWED)
We love animals, but out of respect for allergies and discomfort of our guests, Douglas Guest House does not allow pets for guests or visitors on our entire property.
MODIFICATIONS OF ROOMS
If a booking is made for a specific room and the room reserved is required to meet specific guest needs, or it is unusable due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to transfer the booking to an alternative room of similar quality.
