We are a newly opened backpackers located in the heart of
Cape Town on the best part of the infamous Long Street. Pubs, eateries and
various shops are just beyond our door step.
The hostel is located within a heritage building, has over a
century of history. The building boasts Victorian style architecture with lots
of character, 2 panoramic balcony’s overlooking upper Long Street; where it’s
all happening and ccid security at our door step.
We are located just minutes away from beaches, malls, Table
Mountain and other attractions. We are also on the mycity bus route and have
cabs awaiting just outside the premises.
We strive to provide our guests a safe, clean, comfortable
environment with knowledgeable staff ready at hand; in order for them to enjoy
all that Cape Town has to offer.

Property and Cancelation Policies :
Cancellation between 3 and 7 days before stay the guests depositwill be refunded
Cancellation on the day will incur a full charge for the fullstay.
Terms and Conditions
Check-in time/Check-out Check in Time is from 1pm Checkout time is at 10am if the room is not vacated by the specified time the guest will be charged a full days stay.
Cancellation -If you cancel your reservation within 72 hours of the scheduled date of arrival a cancellation charge equivalent to the room(s) single night rate will be made. Guests failing to arrive, without notification, may be responsible to a charge equivalent to the total reservation price. Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full. Should you wish to, we will attempt to book you into another local hostel of a similar standard; should the price exceed ours we will pay the balance.
Liability -Please take care of our home. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly. We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant.
Keys -You have access to the building and your room 24 hours a day throughout your stay using a set of keys given to you when you register on arrival. You have full responsibility of these keys for the duration of your stay. You will be required to pay a R100 key deposit when checking in.
Hostel rooms -We regret that children, under 18 years of age, cannot be accommodated in any of the rooms within Urban Hive Backpackers.
Lost property -We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. However, the guest will cover the charge for postage.
Payment -Full payment is due upon check-in, we reserve the right to ask guests who fail to settle bills to vacate the premises.
Prices -We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.
Smoking -Smoking is permitted solely to our balcony's and outside court yard and not inside the building, if guests fail to comply with this they will be liable to a R500 fine.
Right of admission -Urban Hive reserves the right to ask guest to leave without a refund for the stay in the case the guest has not settled their account or inhospitable to fellow guests or staff of Urban Hive Backpackers. the guest will be liable to settle their account and vacate the premises. Urban Hive Backpackers reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Right of entry on to the premises is reserved.
