The dream of a colorful Brazil brought us here as curious tourists and we fell in love with it. A love that after a couple of visits became an addiction. After working as volunteers in Rio and traveling around the country we finally found our heart: Búzios. This was the place! The final decision was made when we found our oasis in Búzios, an amazing house just a few steps from the ocean, 400 meters from all the restaurants and life at Rua das Pedras and Orla Bardot, but still in a very calm area. So we left Sweden and we dared to try. After spending six months creating Villa Balthazar we are now living our dream. Felix’s many years in the hotel & restaurant business and Petra’s love for people, hosting and interior design are all fundamental pieces in our adventure. Our shared ambition took us to Búzios and HERE we are!
We – Felix, Petra and our daughter Chloe and our son Leon – are inviting you to become a part of our dream. We welcome you to come and live in our home. Imagine that you are borrowing a house from a dear friend, but the owner is not present. You feel like at home, but you do not have to socialize. That’s the feeling we wish to pass on to our guests. Freedom, peace and harmony combined in a familiar way.Thanks to the fact that Villa Balthazar is our home and our everyday life, we will be around and could probably be found digging in the garden, reading a book, playing with our kids, having dinner with friends, cooking in the kitchen or any other mundane chore. Our presence means that you always have someone to ask for Búzios’ best restaurants, scenic walks or a good coffee. Check-in/Check-out Policies
This property has the following check-in and check-out times and policies:

Property and Cancelation Policies :
Prepayment: 10 – 100% (non refundable) of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking (if no special conditions are applicable).
- Reservations made one month (or more) before the arrival date will be charged 10% (except for Carnival, Easter, New Years and other holidays, see below)
- One month before arrival, 100% of the stay will be charged.
- If the reservation is made within one month before the arrival date the full amount will be charged.
Bank transfers (only between Brazilian accounts): The full amount has to be transfered within 24 hours and the proof of payment sent.
Cancellation
- If cancelled or modified up to 31 days before date of arrival, 10 – 100 (depending on type of reservation) % of the total price of the reservation will be charged.
- If cancelled, modified or in case of no-show one month or less before the date of arrival, 100 % of the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Terms and Conditions
Early/Late - Check-in/Check-out
- Late check-in: If you want to arrive after 8pm you will have to request a late check-in and wait for a confirmation. If late check-ins are not announced, requested and confirmed we will charge a fee of R$ 300 to make the check-in after 8 pm, IF we have the possiblilty.
- Early check-in: If you arrive earlier of course you can leave your luggage at Villa Balthazar if your room is not ready.
- Late check-out: If you wish to have a late check out we will be glad to offer you one if it is possible.
Children and extra beds
At Villa Balthazar children are very welcome to be part of a calm and peaceful life, where all guests are respected. Children and teenagers up to 18 years old are required to present an identification and must be accompanied by parents, guardians, or have permission of the Juvenile Court, in case of traveling with others.- One child under 2 years stays free of charge in a child’s cot/crib.
- One child up to 5 years stays free of charge when using existing beds.
- One child up to 8 years stays for 10% in ab extra bed - ONLY IN THE KING ROOM in the Garden House if the reservation is made strait with us.
- Children from 8-14 years old are charged 20% of the room stay per night in an extra bed (ONLY IN THE KING ROOM in the Garden House)
- Extra persons from 14 years old are charged 30% of the room stay per night in an extra bed (ONLY IN THE KING ROOM in the Garden House)
- In the two Queen Rooms in the Pool House there is not possible to put an extra bed, only one cot.
Pets
Unfortunately we cannot allow pets in the guest rooms at Villa Balthazar due to the risk of allergies and the fact that we have our own little Bella. :)
Parking
Villa Balthazar can not offer a private parking. Cars can be parked on the street just outside of the gate (free of fees). Our car has been parked there since we arrived in Búzios without any problems.
