'The Village Hotel' is owned and run by Penelope Ridgley, an Englishwoman, passionate about Romania, especially, traditional, rural life and the people here.  It is nestled in a quiet corner of the village. Surrounded by mature trees and the sound of running water from the stream, that runs through the property, The Village Hotel is situated 200 metres from the ashfelt road, entering Breb.
The hotel consists of 4 traditional, wooden, Maramures houses. They are fully restored, retaining their original features and charm, with modern comforts added.
We can show you around... introducing you to the locals and allowing you to immerse yourselves into their wonderful, traditional ways of life.
We can organise excursions to local places of interest, hiking , cycling,cooking classes, visits to a local sheepstation..even foraging in the forest!
 Traditional meals can be arranged, in advance, with my neighbour, in her home. There are also 2 small restaurants in Breb, serving, locally sourced, traditional food; breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In the grounds is an open fire place, where fellow travellers gather in the evenings, after a day's exploring.
This year, 2021, we have 3 houses available
 Casa Mica, sleeps 3 people. 2 x single beds, upstairs with separate bathroom. 1 x traditional sofa bed, downstairs, in the living room. Separate kitchen/ diner
Casa Pictata, sleeps 3 people, 2 x single beds upstairs, with en suite bathroom. 1 x traditional sofa bed downstairs, in the living room. Separate kitchen.
Casa Familiei, sleeps 8 people.. 3 x bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms.
 Family room, upstairs 1 x double bed. 2 x single beds. Balcony.
Twin room, upstairs. 2 x single beds.
Double room, downstairs. 1 x double bed.
Every house has a well equipped and stocked kitchen. Fresh, local produce are included, for your first morning's breakfast.  After that, supplies can be purchased from the hotel or from the village. The nearest supermarket is in Ocna Sugatag, 5 kms from Breb.
 All the houses have central heating and constant hot water.
Outdoor BBQ area and use of outside kitchen.
Reception, open from 9am until 7pm, 7 days a week. We can provide information, detailed maps of the area and reference books.
WIFI in all areas.

There is ample parking.
