The Strands and Screes Inn were built in 18th century and both retain many original features, with log fires and wooden beams throughout. Home cooked food is on the menu and the real Ales are all brewed in the on-site micro-brewery.
Mark and Lesley Corr the owners have been welcoming guests since 6th June 2006 who still live and work onsite at the Strands and Screes with their Own Micro Brewery which has been up and running since February 2007.The award-winning Strands Inn, Screes Inn & Strands Brewery all sitting in the heart of Nether Wasdale Village with stunning views of the surrounding fells.
The Strands and Screes Inn are perfectly positioned to explore the natural beauty of the Lake District National Park.
The deepest lake (Wastwater) and the highest mountain of Scafell Pike are both within walking distance which Groups and Couples highly recommend this particular location.
All the rooms are en suite and we serve a traditional English breakfast.
Cumbrian food is offered in our bar areas, along with cask ales brewed on the premises.

DEPOSITS That all bookings will only be reserved once a deposit of 20% of the room charge per night is paid in full, this can be paid via card. RESERVING ROOM/S We cannot hold rooms without the deposit. If we haven’t received your deposit and we have an enquiry for your room/s we would contact, you first to confirm if you still want the room. There please make sure you leave a contact number when booking. Deposits are non-refundable, although in certain circumstances they may be carried forward to a future booking. If a booking is cancelled and we are unable to re-let the accommodation, we reserve the right to charge our per person standard bed and breakfast rate for all the nights booked. We advise guests to consider taking out holiday insurance to cover cancellation charges if they are unable to take their holidays that they have booked.
CANCELLATION POLICYFORTY-EIGHT HOURS Cancellations made within forty-eight hours of arrival date, (not arrival time) will incur full charges unless the accommodation can be re-let. Reservations of more than two nights will be charged in full for the two nights and all subsequent nights will be charged the deposit fee.
SEVEN DAYS Reservations cancelled within seven days of arrival date will be charged the daily deposit fee for every night booked. BLOCK BOOKINGS To reserve three or more rooms, the standard deposit, must be paid in full when booking the rooms. Cancellation within twenty-one days of the arrival date will incur full charges.
DISCOUNTED BOOKINGS If following confirmation, the number of rooms or nights originally booked are reduced the discounted rate will no longer apply and the standard room rates will be applied.
THIRD PARTY BOOKINGS When accommodation is reserved by a third party, the cancellation charges automatically become the responsibility of the third party.
PAYMENT ON ACCOUNT Agreement to payment on account will only be accepted and confirmed once confirmation in writing has been received from the third party/company confirming that they accept responsibility for full payment of the accommodation reserved. All accounts must be settled within seven days of receipt of invoice.
