The reception works 24-hours,
Cancellation policy: 72hs before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
Check in from 13:00 to 23:00 .
Check out before 11:00 .

Booking cancellation policy
Deposits corresponding to bookings will not be refunded for cancellations with less than 72-hour notice before the check-in date and time.For non-refundable fares, we will charge 100% of the reservation.
Bookings for groups of over 6 persons will be charged in full before the check-in date: 50% at the time of booking and 50% up to 72 hours before check-in.
Any request for cancellation or modification must be submitted in writing at bookings@elmistihostels.com. The El Misti Hostels will notify their receipt.
Cancellation terms are applied as well to modifications.
Cancellation policies vary for *special events like Carnival, New Year’s, Rock in Rio, etc. Please confirm the conditions which apply to the period of your reservation.
Any no-shows will be charged 100% of the reservation total after 24 hours from the check-in time if no notification is received by El Misti Hostels.
We recommend hiring a traveller’s insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances that may cause the cancellation of the booking. El Misti Hostels will gladly help you and provide the necessary documentation for proof of cancellation purposes.
Cancellations of groups of over 6 persons can be done only 30 days or more before the check-in date for the total payment made for the booking to be refunded. After that period, there won’t be any refund of such payment.
Reservations made with the non-refundable cancellation policy will be charged 100% of the total value of the reservation. If any cancellation occurs no deposit will be returned.
*For the New Year Package 2023/2024 (23/12/2023 to 04/01/2024) and Carnival (07/02/2024 to 17/02/2024), it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted.
Cancellations will only be processed 30 days before the check-in date. After that time, no deposit refunds will be made. In the event of a no-show, the hostel charges the full amount of the balance.
*For the Easter Package 2024 (21/03/2024 to 31/03/2024) and Rock In Rio 2022 ( 12/9/2024 to 22/9/2024), it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted.
Cancellations will only be processed 15 days before the check-in date. After that time, no deposit refunds will be made.
In the event of a no-show, the hostel charges the full amount of the balance.
For any other dates not included above have to be made 72 hours before check-in, it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted. otherwise, no reimbursement is performed.
Terms and Conditions
Payment of Accommodation
We require a 40% deposit to confirm and guarantee any reservation. For non-refundable fares, we will charge 100% of the reservation. The remaining balance must be paid at the check-in time. Please, bear in mind that all bookings are charged in Reals (local currency). In case a money exchange is needed it will be applied to the exchange rate up to date.
Overbookings
For reservations guaranteed with a 40% deposit or more, rooms are held until set check-in time. In case more guests arrive than those who the hostel can accommodate due to hostel overbooking or an unforeseen circumstance, and the hostel is unable to hold rooms consistent with booking room hold policy, the guest will be entitled to the refund of the deposit made for the booking and the hostel will pay for transport to another hostel of the same characteristics.
Minors
According to the Brazilian Federal Law 8.069/1990, minors under 18 years of age cannot check into hotels unless they are accompanied by their parents or a designated adult. If a minor is accompanied by an adult other than his parents, it is necessary to present a written authorization for the minor to check into the hotel. Such authorization must be notarized and signed by both parents and presented along with notarized copies of their IDs.

Improvements
In our strive to improve and upgrade our facilities to satisfy our guests, El Misti Hostel sometimes undergoes refurbishment work in some parts of the hostel. We do our best to ensure guests are not affected by the renovations but please be aware of the latter possibility.
