The Pousada Velho Bateau is located in the district of Santo Inácio, Atins, a small village belonging to Barreirinhas and located in northeastern Brazil, more specifically in the state of Maranhão. It is located 400 meters from the entrance of Lencois Maranhenses National Park and 900 meters from the beach. It offers every convenience for relaxing after long days of hiking or kite surfing. The hostel tries its best to preserve the surrounding nature and limits the use of plastic. We offer 2 transfers to the beach per day (to go at 9h30 and come back at 18h).
Transfers outside these hours are made by Atins agencies. Depending on the schedule, they charge between 20 and 25 reais per person. The restaurant offers delicious menus and combines contemporary cuisine with local products. The hostel has been designed to meet different types of travelers. You can sleep in hammocks, in nice well ventilated cabins, or in more luxurious air-conditioned chalets with private bathrooms. A famous old boat that gave the pousada its name has been refurbished to offer a romantic room. No room has a refrigerator, so guests can meet in common places.
