Sanctuary NYC Retreats was created by a group of health, wellness and spiritually conscious travelers. It is a "Zen Luxury" experience. The decor is warm, simple, & serene with pops of colorful Indian folk art with a beautiful yoga studio on our ground floor. The suites come with a complimentary breakfast. Our mission is to provide like minded travelers with a retreat-style accommodation in midst of the hustle and bustle of New York City. A reservation with Sanctuary NYC not only includes your accommodation but grants a full-access membership. This membership includes yoga and meditation classes, as well the opportunity to volunteer at Food for Life, our local food relief project.
Sanctuary NYC is located in the vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood of the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The LES is the oldest neighborhood in New York City and presently one of the most fashionable in Manhattan. Once the home for working-class European immigrants, the LES has become one of the trendiest areas in the city full of cool boutique hotels, bars, restaurants, yoga studios, fashion stores, health food stores, art galleries and live music venues. Iconic artists like Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen used to live on our street and countless movies and TV shows are filmed around throughout the year.
Just blocks away is the Delancey/Essex Subway Station and a quick train ride to Midtown (Union Square, Flatiron District, Empire State Building, Times Square and Central Park) or Brooklyn (Williamsburg, DUMBO). A few minutes walking and you can be anywhere downtown: East Village, SoHo, West Village, Little Italy, Chinatown and East River Park.

Property and Cancelation Policies :
There is a 24 hour grace period to cancel your reservation free of charge and receive a full refund. If canceled outside the 24 hour grace period and before 2 weeks prior to check-in guests will forfeit the deposit. If canceled within 2 weeks of the check-in date, the guest will forfeit the deposit as well as be charged the remaining balance.
Terms and Conditions
General Provisions:
This Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties with regard to the participation in the programs and rental of the property, and any changes, amendments or modifications hereof shall be void unless the same are in writing and signed by both the Guest and the Rental Agent. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York. The words “Rental Agent” and “Guest” shall include their respective heirs, successors, representatives. The waiver or failure to enforce any breach or provision of this Agreement shall not be considered a waiver of that or any other provision in any subsequent breach thereof. If any provision herein is held invalid, the remainder of the Agreement shall not be affected. Any notice required to be given under this Agreement shall be in writing and sent to the contact information included herein. This Agreement may be signed in one or more counterparts, each of which is an original, but taken together constitute one and the same instrument. Execution of a digital signature shall be deemed a valid signature. Property furnished and includes linens, towels, Wi-Fi, cable, AC, heating, stainless steel appliances, and dishwasher. Guest shall allow access to property for repair/inspection etc. Guests agree owner shall exercise right of termination of reservation for any reason at any time. Owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries ,illness or unmentioned or unforeseen issues that may occur while on the property premises.
Reservation Details:
Reservations are made on our website or by phone with all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express). A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation. The remaining balance is due upon arrival.

No Smoking Policy:
To protect and enhance our indoor air quality and to contribute to the health and well-being of our guests and employees, Sanctuary NYC is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is prohibited in all the enclosed areas within the facility without exception.This includes guest rooms, hallways, elevators, stairs, restrooms, and lobby areas and all other enclosed facilities. If a smoking violation occurs in a room, the client will be charged a $250 non-refundable cleaning fee. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that our guests and employees are not subject to second hand smoke.
Risk of Loss and Indemnification:
Guest agrees that all personal property, furnishings, personal effects, and other items brought into the property by guest or their permitted guests and visitors shall be at the sole risk of guest with regard to any theft, damage, destruction or other loss and rental agent shall not be responsible or liable for any reason whatsoever. Guest hereby covenants and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless rental agent and their agents, owners, successors, employees and contractors from and against any costs, damages, liabilities, claims, legal fees and other actions for any damages, costs, attorneys’ fees incurred by guest, permitted guests, visitors or agents, representatives or successors of guest due to any claims relating to destruction of property or injury to persons or loss of life sustained by guest or family and visitors of guest in or about the property and guest expressly agrees to save and hold rental agent harmless in all such cases.

Sanctuary NYC’s mission is to provide a 'retreat for the soul',a respite from the usual non-spiritual accommodations available to travelers who journey to New York. As Sanctuary NYC is part of St. Christophers Interfaith Community/Dharma in Action, we live by the credo that taking care of guests is our intrinsic Dharmic (religious) duty, as St. Christopher was the patron saint of travelers. We welcome you to the serene spiritual atmosphere Sanctuary provides, as well as varied programs on Bhakti (yoga of devotion) which we offer as part of our membership program. These include sacred meditation in the yoga studio/temple room, workshops on Vinyasa infused Bhakti yoga, kirtan (devotional chant/prayer), history and philosophy of yoga, Ayurveda (science of life and healing), as well as varied workshops/events on related subject matters (nurturing body, mind & soul). Sanctuary NYC is 100% vegetarian and alcohol free facility. Each room is equipped with a mini library of books on the science of the soul as delineated in the ancient classic Bhagavad Gita, the text that inspired Gandhi, Emerson, Thoreau and Einstein who wrote; "I bathe my intellect daily in the cosmological wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita." Weekly classes are included in the Sanctuary membership program at our affiliate The Bhakti Center.
During your stay, you can volunteer in the Sanctuary NYC sponsored Food For Life program to feed the homeless and unserved neighbors in nearby Tompkins Square Park. Participation in our membership program includes access to of one of our suites ($25 of the room price), along with a complimentary breakfast of organic sanctified food or 'Prasad' (healthy vegetarian fare offered with love & devotion to God). Guest acknowledges that their participation in the any or all above programs offered above by Sanctuary NYC is mandatory within the duration of their stay, and that rental of the rooms at Sanctuary NYC are limited to members and participants of Sanctuary NYC’s Programs.
