A Memphis Landmark
Welcome to Hotel Napoleon, where each representative is dedicated to providing nothing less than extraordinary service. Opened fall of 2016, this boutique, upscale hotel offers guests 56 guest rooms and 2 suites. Designed inside the original five story Press-Scimitar Building built in 1902, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The builder, Napoleon Hill (1830-1909) was the richest man in the city and lived in an impressive mansion across the street in the location of the present day Sterick Building. The Memphis Press-Scimitar was the evening newspaper that was published until the mid 1980’s.
A Nod to the Past
Before entering the hotel you can discover the Historic integrity of one of the finest turn of the century commercial buildings based on skillful and imaginative design from two important Memphis architects in their time ( Chigazola 1869-1911 and Hunker 1876-1958) Take time to admire the corbelled balconettes with elaborate iron railings, breathtaking Romanesque structures featuring a row of lions and fleur-de-lis running beneath the cornice along with crests of Mr. Napoleon Hill.
Modern Luxury with Old-World Charm
Above the Madison Street entrance, if you look up and left, you will see the N Crest, to the right you will see the H crest. Festooned lions head masks placed between the circular arched windows, various textures of stonework, in addition to foliated relief carvings.From the entrance you will discover remarkable character preserved throughout the hotel and in each guest room, all with contemporary conveniences. Some rooms feature prominent bay windows facing north and south, overlooking the historic landscape of downtown Memphis.

Life happens. We get that. Reservations that ARE not PREPAID and cancelled up to 48 hours prior to arrival are fully refundable (with exception of special events)
Prepaid reservations are not able to be cancelled and/or changed.
Please carefully read our cancellation policy. Rarely can we make any exceptions to this. To save any misunderstanding we would be grateful if you can observe the following:
- If the guest cancels more than 48 hours in advance, the total amount of the reservation will be refunded.
- If the guest cancels within 48 hours, the entire first night is non refundable.
- In case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged and is non- refundable

The hotel authorizes credit cards 48 hours prior to arrival. If authorization fails, the reservation is automatically cancelled.

Breathe easy. We are a non-smoking property. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name. Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents in rooms will result in a disappointed look and a $100 room cleaning fee. Please be courteous of other guests.
Debit Card Notice: If you are paying for your room with a debit card it will be authorized for your entire stay plus your $100 damage deposit. Depending on your banking establishment, it could take up to 10 days for any credit to be issued to your debit card. Please do not use your debit card at check in if you are planning to change your payment. Valid Credit Cards Only accepted at check in.

Pet Policy - Pets allowed under 40 lbs, maximum 2 per room. A $100 non refundable fee will be charged at check in. This is in addition to the $100 damage deposit.
OFFSITE PARKING is available next door to the hotel in the Prospero Parking Garage at 193 Madison Avenue. Memphis, TN 38103 and is independent of the hotel. Hotel Staff will not be able to grant guests access in or out of the garage. Hotel Napoleon nor the garage are responsible for any theft or damages to your vehicle. Please Do Not leave any valuables in your car. The cost is less than $17 per night, plus a transaction fee. There is other Offsite Parking available near the hotel. International guest will need to either have an international plan / WhatsApp/ etc. to dial a local number or they can hit the intercom and get assistance with the call center.
