Tortugal is near Castillo San Felipe easily reached using one of our free kayaks. Breezes flow into Tortugal as the property is a peninsula located upriver from the very busy town of Fronteras; creating an extraordinarily healthy environment, yet close enough to services to be able to walk there, Tortugal's bay is perfect for swimming and diving from the platform to the floating sun deck furnished with loungers and chairs. Vehicle parking is in a private lot on the eastern side of the bridge where guests will be met and brought to Tortugal (5 minute ride). Guests are also received at the municipal dock when travelling by bus. Use of kayaks, excellent wifi throughout, EcoFiltro water available at no extra
charge. Library, homemade food, dog, cat to pet. Beautiful walk to town through hardwoods and cacao (chocolate). Cabins, chalets and rooms have river or jungle views with private bathrooms. Rooms are kept cool with overhead fans and thick
native roofs. Tortugal is one of very few places on the planet where one can swim in clean, clear waters and sleep in the beauty and quiet of an artesinal surrounding.

- kayak only in the early mornings as winds come up and the kayak could be swamped.
- leaving Tortugal is simple as taking our water taxi (extra charge if not during service times)or by walking out using our trails.
- free water taxi service to Fronteras is available in front of the restaurant at approximately 6:45 am, 2pm, 3 pm, 5 pm and 9 pm
- wait in the restaurant where you can see the boat. When you see the driver approaching the boat let him know you would like a ride.
