Welcome to Paje by Night, a place with its own personality and its unique atmosphere, a starting point for all your adventures on the island and a spot where to chill-out and regain your time.

We are located in Zanzibar, a wonderful, romantic, historic and stunningly beautiful tropical island off the Tanzania coast.

The Hotel is located 100 m. inside from the beach. We have 19 bungalows overlooking the garden, a lounge, a bar and a restaurant with menu a la carte, a swimming-pool and the ReHub Yoga School of Zanzibar.

We also have a detached facility on the beach, called The Beach House, that hosts Paje by Kite (our kite center) and the beach bar which offers sunbeds, coffees, cocktails, winery, Italian gelato, snacks, tapas and big healthy salads. The Beach House is approx. 250 m far from the hotel.

Paje by Kite, the first and legendary kite school of Paje, offers kite courses and lessons, rentals, kite lockers, washing facilities, a launch area and a kite shop.

Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

RATES:
Rates are quoted in US dollars and include breakfast;
15 min complimentary massage at the Bali spa per person (min 3 nights stay); 
1 complimentary introduction to yoga class per person (every Wednesday, min 3 nights stay.

We reserve the right to amend rates should any factor, beyond our control, materially affect the conditions under which these rates were set. In the event of a change of government taxes, fees or levies, we reserve the right to pass these on to the guest/agent.

PAYMENTS: 
Individual Bookings: 
100% 30 days prior to arrival 
Group Bookings (3 or more rooms): 
50% deposit 60 days before arrival
50% balance payment 30 days before arrival. 
Group Bookings Seasonal Exceptions:
from Dec 13th to Jan 10th inclusive and from July 20th to Aug 31st inclusive:
100% balance payment 60 days before arrival. 
We always require the full payment amount of the reservation to be collected prior to check-in. 

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Any cancellation of a reservation must be in writing and shall only be effective upon its acknowledged receipt by the Company. 
In case of two different flexible policies overlapping the most restrictive policy will apply.

COVID-19 terms and conditions:

When:

1. The guest has contracted COVID-19 and is under treatment or is in quarantine for COVID-19 within 72 hours of travel; 
2. The government in the guest’s country of residence restricts, after booking, all but essential travel;
3. International flights are cancelled with no alternative routing available for guest to use to reach the destinations in the itinerary; 
4. Zanzibar is under official government sanctioned lock-down that prohibits guests from traveling; 
5. Zanzibar has no formal lock-down but has closed its border either to international travellers or to travellers from the guest’s country of residence; 

The following cancellation policy will apply: 
Cancellation between booking date and 31 days before arrival: no cancellation fees 
Cancellation between 30 days prior to arrival and 48 hours before arrival: 100% credit for future stay* or 100% refund. Refunds will be affected less bank charges incurred. 
Cancellation Between 48 hours and arrival: 100% credit for future stay* 
Cancellation during travel: 50% credit for any unused nights for future stay*

For all reasons listed above we reserve the right to ask for any reasonable evidence, written statements and or supporting documents. 

Terms are valid for individual bookings and exclude all groups unless otherwise negotiated and agreed. 

Any reason for cancellation not listed or may be construed as disinclination to travel, our standard cancellation terms and conditions apply. 

Excluded, unless otherwise specified, are 3rd party partner services whom have not matched our terms. At the time of cancellation or deferment, we will clearly communicate if there are costs that cannot be recovered and will be deducted. 

Applied Special Offers may not be applicable on the new reservation. 

We highly recommend that guests take out comprehensive travel insurance; including “cancel for any reason” (where still available). 

* Credit for future stay 
Should the future booking be for stay in a different season where the cost of accommodation is higher the traveller will be liable for the difference of costs. 
Should the future booking be for stay in a different season where the cost of accommodation is lower there will be no refund. 
Should a guest choose, for her future booking, dates where there is no availability and refuse to choose any other date then the money paid will be forfeit.     
The voucher is valid for 12 months from the starting date of the original booking.

No-show: 100% of the total price
Group Bookings (3 rooms or more):
Cancellation until 61 days prior to arrival: no cancellation fees
Cancellation between 60 and until 31 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee  
Cancellation in the 30 days before arrival day: 100% cancellation fee 
Group Bookings Seasonal Exceptions:
from Dec 13th to Jan 10th inclusive and from July 20th to Aug 31st inclusive:

EARLY CHECK-IN SPECIAL OFFER (for arrival in the night before your 1st booked date): 
Discount: 25%. It includes breakfast. Can be booked by email or WhatsApp from 08.00 to 18.00 local time in the 24 hrs. before arrival date. If available a confirmation will follow by email. Not applicable Last Minute Special Offers bookings. 100% non-refundable.

CHILDREN: 
Children of all ages are welcome 
Children 0-2 stay for free when sleeping in existing bed. (No breakfast included)
A Cot/crib can be arranged upon request at the time of booking (subject to availability.) 
No children below 3 allowed in Standard Bungalows. 

RESTRICTIONS:
From Dec the 20th to Jan the 10th: min length of stay is 5 nights

ROOMS ALLOCATION:
Please note that we are not able to assign to bookings a specific room. When booking a Concept, a King-size or a Standard bungalow you will be certainly be allocated the category booked however we cannot guarantee that you will be given a specific bungalow of that category (i.e. no. 9 instead of no.10).

CHECK-IN:
Check-in time is 2 pm, Check-out time is 10 am.

LATE ARRIVAL: 
If you arrive at night (in the night between your 1st and 2nd booked dates) the reception will be closed (as well as all hotel facilities) and the night guard will lead you to your room. We will do the proper check-in the morning. For your information the breakfast is served from 8 to 10 am. The reception opens at 09.00..

EARLY CHECK-IN: 
The reception opens at 09.00. Check-in time is 14.00. Should you arrive earlier and the room be available the reception will be happy to arrange a free early check-in. If not available, you can leave your luggage with us and grab a beach towel to chill out by the pool or at the beach bar while waiting.
If you arrive at night (in the night before your 1st booked date) be informed that all hotel facilities will be closed. The bar will open at 08.00. 

CREDIT CARDS AND CURRENCIES:
Payments of extras (bar, restaurant, tours, sport activities) can be made at the property by cash or the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and American Express (a 5% bank surcharge applies to all bills EXCEPT rooms payment). We accept Tanzania Shilling, Euro and US dollars. Note that US dollars bills issued before 2009 are not accepted in Zanzibar.

PARKING: 
Free parking for in-house guests is available at the premise 

RISKS: 
The Company and its owners, directors, management and employees shall not be held responsible for any illness, injury or death to persons visiting the resort nor for loss or damage to personal property, however they may be caused.
The Company will not assume any liability whatsoever to persons visiting its facilities for any act or omission of the Company done in good faith or arising from circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Company

FORCE MAJEURE:
a) “Force Majeure” means, in relation to the Company, any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Company (including without limitation, acts of God, explosion, flood, tempest, fire or accident, war or threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance or requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions or other untoward occurrences).
b) If the Company is affected by Force Majeure it shall forthwith notify you of the nature and extent thereof. 
c) The Company shall not be deemed to be in breach of these terms and conditions or otherwise be liable to you, by reason of delay in performance, or by non-performance, of any of its obligations hereunder to the extent that any such delay or non-performance is due to any Force Majeure
d) If the Company is affected by Force Majeure it shall be entitled to, and may at its sole and absolute discretion, vary or cancel any reservations or arrangement in relation to the visit. Payment of any refund by the Company to you as a result of the nonperformance of any of the Company’s obligations hereunder shall remain in its sole and absolute discretion although the Company shall use its reasonable endeavors to reimburse you where possible. However, the Company shall be entitled to deduct from any refund recoverable the reasonable actual and potential costs to the Company of the Force Majeure

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
These terms and conditions, under the jurisdiction of the Laws of the Republic of Tanzania, govern the relationship between the Company and you, to the total exclusion of any other terms and conditions.
The payment of the deposit or any other partial payment for a reservation constitutes consent to all provisions of the conditions and general information contained in the terms and conditions. The terms on which you agree to make the reservations cannot be changed unless amended in writing signed by an authorized officer of the Company.

DISPUTES:
If you have any cause for complaint while staying with us, you must immediately bring it to the attention of the Company’s manager or agent who will attempt to resolve the situation. Any outstanding dispute will be settled in the Courts of Zanzibar which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.


OTHER RELEVANT INFO:

PAJE BY KITE SCHOOL:
Due to disruption caused by Covid-19 crisis worldwide we did not open the Kite school for the 2020 summer fall. Please check with us for updates. Lockers for independent riders will be available as usual at the beach facility. 

INSURANCE:
The Zanzibar government requires that any person entering Zanzibar from June 6th 2020 must have a valid international travel and medical insurance.
We recommend that you provide yourself an insurance covering medical costs including full evacuation and repatriation. Furthermore you might consider including also loss, damage, theft, cancellation etc. If you are planning to do watersports (diving, kite-surfing and others) make sure these are included. 

VISA:
The Zanzibar government recommends applying for on-line visa in order to avoid crowding at airport. Your passport needs to have 6 months validity.

TRANSFERS: 
Transfers are not included in the room rate but a private shuttle can be arranged upon request for USD 35 per car. Transfers must be requested at the latest 2 days prior to arrival day. At arrivals, outside the airport, there will be a driver waiting for you with the board of Paje by Night and your name on it. It will take approx. 45 min to reach us from airport, port or Stone Town.
Don’t forget to let us know if you travel with kite equipment as in that case a second car might become necessary. 

BREAKFAST:
We provide 4 different king of breakfast. Among them there’s a vegan option and a gluten free option. Please note that our home made muesli in the gluten free breakfast contains oat hence there might be trace of gluten. 
If you suffer from celiac disease feel free to bring your own muesli and we will be happy to store it in our fridge. Also make sure that that information is stated in your order so that the kitchen staff will be aware of it and pay attention to avoid any food contamination.

CELIAC DISEASE:
We offer a variety of dishes including gluten free ones. In order to avoid the risk of contamination please make sure the information regarding your celiac condition is stated in your order so that the kitchen will be well aware of it.

KITE LOCKERS: 
If you kite surf and come with your own gear let us know if you would like to book a locker at our beach facility which includes the beach bar (The Beach House) and the kite school (Paje by Kite). Prices depends on the no. of days booked. Kindly note that wet boards and kites are not allowed in the rooms.

WI-FI: 
Wi-Fi is offered free of charge and is available in the common areas such as the bar, the restaurant, the swimming-pool and at the Beach House. 

NO PLASTIC: 
In an effort to minimize plastic waste we only offer safe drinkable mineral water from refillable gallon and we do not sell individual plastic bottles of water. It is recommended for guests to travel with their own refillable water bottles. Please be aware that no plastic bottles are allowed from outside.

SAFE TRAVEL:
Zanzibar has had so far and since the beginning of the pandemic very few cases of COVID-19. 
Nevertheless since our reopening we have been working hard to enhance our cleaning standard operating procedure and implement as far as possible the WTTC Safe Travels guidelines for a secure, seamless, authentic and meaningful holiday.  These include adequate spacing, personal hygiene staff training, new cleaning and disinfecting procedure for the laundry and housekeeping department, for the bar, the restaurant, the kitchen and all common areas.  In consideration of no objective safety threats masks are not compulsive in Zanzibar. Please feel free to bring your own if that makes you feel more comfortable.  We will take care of updating and communicating new procedure if necessary.
