The Surf is the result of a local resident’s childhood memories and a passion for the small-town vibe of 1960s Hollywood Beach. What started out as a ‘70s apartment building was converted into a boutique guesthouse that harkens back to those simpler times but has been reimagined with ten elegantly designed suites outfitted with all the modern amenities travelers have come to expect. Our spacious one-bedroom suites, roomy restrooms, full kitchens, and amenities galore set the stage for the perfect getaway. The Surf Terms & Conditions
Reservation Policy: Your reservation is guaranteed until the day of arrival. After that time, it will no longer be guaranteed and the room may be reassigned. We will charge your credit card immediately upon confirming your reservation. The hotel has the right to cancel your reservation if we do not receive the Pre-Payment for your reservation. We will send you a cancellation confirmation via email immediately after cancelling your booking.
Check-In / Check-Out Times: Upon booking your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email providing you access codes to all of the exterior and interior doors of the property, as well as to your room door. Doors can be accessed 24-hours per day. Check-In time is 3pm and check out time is 10am.
Minimum Length of Stay: Based on seasonality, a minimum length of stay may be imposed at time of booking. The minimum length of stay is subject to change without notice and typically varies between 1-3 nights. Please see website booking platform for current policies.
Cancellation Policy: Reservations are fully refundable 14 days prior to check-in. Reservations cancelled less than 14 days will be non-refundable. To cancel a reservation, please call us at (561) 921-7777.
Cleaning Fee: Guests are responsible for paying a $150 per accommodation cleaning fee. This fee will be collected at the time of booking.
No Smoking Policy: Smoking is not allowed in any rooms or anywhere inside The Surf property. If ANY evidence of smoking is found in the room or in any of the building areas such as window ledges, stairs or the entrance area (or anywhere on the property), a $250 smoking fine will be assessed to your room charges. Please note that we comply with the local health and safety guidelines and recommendations provided by the State of Florida on smoking in public places.
Damage Policy: During your stay, a $250 damage deposit will be held on your credit card. All room furniture, fixtures and equipment and furniture should be treated with care and kept in order. Immediate notification to The Surf staff will be expected of any damages or breakages on the premises. Guests are financially responsible for any damage to the room and/or property. This includes losses caused by the guest or thru third-party negligent actions and behavior. A summary check will be made of the room at check-out time. However, a more detailed review of the condition of the property, room and all equipment and facilities will be made soon after check-out and before another guest occupies the same room. Guests are responsible for any damages or breakages found that are over and above normal wear and tear and usage. In this case, a detailed statement of damage along with an invoice for the repair or replacement cost will be charged to the credit card on file immediately upon discovery. Please note, immediate notification after check-out of any damages to, breakages in or issues with the property or room or room is expected. The Surf Hollywood Beach will take any necessary action to resolve any issues and make sure all the equipment and facilities are working and provided as expected.
Extending Your Stay: After you have booked your stay with us, you can extend your stay (depending on availability) by simply letting us know before you arrive. If you are already staying with us and you would like to stay longer, please let us know at least 24 hours before your check-out date. We will do our best to accommodate your new plans and this can include relocating you to a similar room should this be necessary.
Room Occupancy Limits: Each room has a maximum room occupancy per the laws of the State of Florida. Room rates include 2 adults and 2 children per room, except for Room C which allows 2 adults and 1 child. Each additional adult guest will be charged $25 per night per room. If it’s determined additional guests are occupying the room during a stay, a $250 penalty will be charged to the reservation holder’s credit card. Please contact us at (561) 921-7777 if you intend on having more than 2 adults staying in your reserved room.
Minimum Age: All guests must be 21 years or older to confirm guest room accommodations at The Surf. A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of check in for age verification.
Pet Friendly: We have several dog-friendly rooms at The Surf. The fee is $75 per pet, with a limit of 1 pet per room. All pets must be registered during the reservation process. Exotic pets are not allowed. If there is a pet found in a room without hotel knowledge, a $250 penalty fee will be applied to the room. Emotional support dogs and service dogs do not qualify as ADA approved and will be subject to the $75 pet fee. If any pet is left unattended and soils any part of the room, a $250 cleaning fee will be assessed to the reservation.
ADA Compliance: The Surf is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We offer accessible rooms within the hotel. Please ensure requests reach us by placing it in the comments section of the online reservation form, or by calling us directly at (561) 921-7777 after the reservation has been made.
Firearms: Any guest or visitor who is in possession of a firearm on hotel premises is personally responsible for abiding by all applicable federal, state and local laws with respect to firearms. Subject to the following restrictions, guests of The Surf who are lawfully permitted to possess a firearm may bring such firearm onto hotel premises, provided that the presence of the firearm on hotel premises: is for storage purposes only; the firearm is and remains at all times unloaded; the firearm is and remains secured in a locked, hard-sided firearm container, provided by the guest, while transported to or from the guest room and while stored therein; and the firearm remains securely safeguarded at all times in a locked guest room or locked personal vehicle, except when transporting the firearm to or from a guest room. Guests who fail to abide by this policy may be asked to leave the hotel premises, without refund. The hotel premises are private property, and our firearms policy applies to: (i) all firearms, regardless of whether the firearm is a handgun or a long-barreled gun; and (ii) all guests and visitors, even those possessing a valid license or permit to carry a firearm. The only exception to the restrictions described in this firearms policy statement is for law enforcement officers and designated military personnel, who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties.
Guest Safety: As part of our commitment to guest safety, employees will not disclose the identity, room number or presence of a guest to anyone other than appropriate law enforcement. This includes the taking of or delivery of messages or indirect forwarding of phone calls. It is the responsibility of guests to communicate their presence and room number to any person they wish to receive calls or visits from. Safety cameras are used throughout the premises, and anyone on our property may be recorded.
Room Locations & Access: Please note we do not have an elevator on premise. Rooms 1, 2, 3, B, C, 4 are located on the first floor. Rooms 5, 6, 7, 8 are located on the second floor and only accessible via stairs. Please contact us if you require special assistance.
