Our historic rooming house has been renovated to preserve its historic features, while adding modern conveniences. We offer SciFi-influenced details, free WiFi, free parking, and 24 hour access and quiet hours.
Site 61 values its opportunity to bring international travelers together in a shared, dorm-style accommodation. However, we also offer private rooms, as well as dorm rooms. .A generous number of full bathrooms are available down the hall. We continue to practice enhanced cleaning protocols, to assure the health and safety of our guests.

Property and Cancellation Policies :
If the entire reservation is canceled two full days prior to the arrival date, the deposit will be refunded in full. Any reduction in the number of nights reserved must be canceled at least two full days in advance, in order to receive a full refund for those nights. Any nights that are canceled less than two full days in advance will be charged / will not be refunded. Reservations for Special Events, such as New Years Eve, Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Halloween, must be pre-paid at least three full days in advance and must be cancelled at least three full days in advance, in order to receive a refund.
Terms and Conditions
Payment for the first night is charged at the time the reservation is made. The balance of the reservation must be paid at or prior to Check-In. The reservation must be paid in full, in order to set up Self Check-in. You have the option of paying the full amount of the reservation in advance. Reservations must be made by the person(s) who will be staying at the Hostel. Reservations made by third parties will not be accepted.
Same-day reservations must be booked by phone or email by the Accommodation.
Site 61 does not accept reservations from Locals, that is, guests who live less than 35 miles from New Orleans,

Reservations for special events, such as Mardi Gras, Jazzfest, Halloween, New Years, must be pre-paid in full at least three days prior to the arrival date. These reservations are non-refundable if cancelled less than three full days prior to the arrival date.

Guests must name an emergency contact person and place their contact information on file..
Access to personal information and credit card information is secure and limited.
Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and must reserve an ensuite room. Beds are reserved on a per-person basis. Each individual, no matter their age, must reserve a bed.
Check-In is at 4 PM- 6 PM Self Check in may be arranged in advance.. Check out is at 11 AM. Late Check-out is not available. If you arrive before your reserved space is ready, you can store your luggage in a locker. Bring your own lock or rent one of ours for a nominal fee. Reservations must be paid in full and the Hostel must receive a copy of lguest's ID's, before a Self Check-in can be set up.
To return items that have been left behind after check-out, there will be a minimum $20 Service Charge, in addition to charges for packaging, postage, delivery, etc.
There will be a $6.00 charge for each key that is not returned.
Parking: Free street parking is available on two sides of our building. Security cameras monitor part of this area. However, as always, leave valuables out of sight and always lock your vehicle. Bicycle parking can be arranged inside the gated premises.
Quiet hours are from 11PM to 7AM. There is 24-hour access using the front door code.
WiFi is available throughout the building. However, peer-to-peer file-sharing (AKA Torrents/Illegal Downloads) is prohibited. Your device will be blocked from our network for violation of this rule.
Visitors are allowed in downstairs areas during the day, with the On-duty Manager's permission.. Unregistered guests are not permitted upstairs at any time, nor for overnight stays.
No furniture, household goods or appliances belonging to guests may be moved into the building.
Cameras monitor the common areas inside the building, as well as the patio/parking areas outside. The grounds are fully enclosed and gated. Entry is allowed only through the front door, which is covered by several cameras.
Safety: The building is protected by fire alarms, a sprinkler system, and carbon monoxide detectors.. A professional company monitors the system 24/7.
Smoking is permitted only outside the building--such as the covered back porch, patio, balcony. Burning items such as candles or incense is also prohibited. The fire alarm system can detect smoking inside rooms and bathrooms.
Accessibility: We do not have a lift for entering the building. However, the downstairs areas are ADA compliant. One room has an ensuite bathroom with a transfer shower. You must call to check for availability of the ADA room.
We do not assign beds. We are not able to reserve a lower bunk for you.
The flooring, beds, and other furniture can accommodate weights of 250 lbs. or less.
Pets are not allowed. If you have a service animal, you must notify Site 61 at least 72 hours in advance, and the Manager must have the opportunity to observe the behavior of the dog before confirming a reservation.
Liability: Site 61 is not responsible for any items lost or stolen during your stay. Site 61 takes no responsibility for injuries/death to any guest in respect of any activities while staying at Site 61 Any activities, tours or outside activities either by hire or other means is the guest’s responsibility for safety and insurance. .
Damages: Guests must agree to pay for any/all damages within Site 61, including damages to the guest’s room and its contents, caused by the guest or guest’s invitees.
Loss of privileges: Management reserves the right to immediately cancel the reservation of any guest who fails to respect the rights of other guests and staff, who makes it difficult for Management to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. The decision whether to take this action is the sole prerogative of the Owner or Manager. The facility may charge a reasonable cleaning fee to any guest who is asked to vacate the premises.
Guests are responsible for knowing the details of their reservation, including the size of the beds(s), whether the room is private or shared, and what amenities are offered.
Force Majeure: Site 61 will bear no responsibility for its failure to honor a reservation, if the failure is due to an event outside of its control, such as extreme weather conditions.
