Property Information

Located at 2 Chestnut Street, the Hawthorn House is a nine bedroom antique home built in 1849.  There are three floors with eight rooms in the main house, and a small studio apartment a’rears of the garage.  There is a small patio out back and a covered porch in between the house and garage.  We are a self-check in establishment and staff is available by call or text.  Daily maid service is between 11 - 4 pm.  We do not provide breakfast or vouchers. 


The Hawthorn House was built in 1849 and has been providing convenient accommodation for travelers to Nantucket since 1984.  We are proud to provide comfortable rooms and encourage our guests to take full advantage of the experiences Nantucket can offer!

Property and Cancellation Policies :
Free Cancellation: Within 24 hours of making a reservation, or 30 days prior to the arrival.

Cancellation Fee: $125 for reservations cancelled within 30 days of arrival.

NO REFUNDS: For cancellations performed within 4 days of arrival.

Weather Related Cancellations: If the ferries from Hyannis, Massachusetts are not running to Nantucket we offer a full credit towards another reservation.  We do not offer weather related refunds for cancellations related to air travel, or ferry travel from any other departure point that Hyannis.  
Terms and Conditions

Arrival and Departure:

Rooms will be ready at 3:00 PM for check in every day.  Check out is at 11:00 AM.  

Key Policy:

Every Room will be left with 1 key.  Failure to return the key will result in a $50 charge per key. 


Storm Policy:

If the ferries are operating  guests are expected  to arrive as scheduled -- whether they planned to arrive by ferry or plane. If all ferries have been cancelled on a given day then a credit towards a future stay or a refund  ( less 15 % ) will be issued for that night's lodging at our discretion. Once ferry service resumes guests are expected to arrive for the balance of their reservation. Travel delays, missed connections, medical or any other travel issues will not merit credits or refunds. These potential unforeseen problems are best addressed with travel insurance, which we recommend.
