CANCELATION POLICY:                  

Reservations are fully refundable without penalties up to (10) days prior to check-in.
Reservations canceled within (10) days will not be refunded or credited, and will be charged in full.       

No refunds are given for early departure or inclement weather. In the event of rain, we have a lobby fully stocked with games and a covered wrap-around patio for guests to enjoy.

RESERVATION POLICY: 

You must be 25 years or older to confirm a room accommodation at the Coastal Chateau.  A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of check-in for identity verification.

Room reservations must include the first/last name of all adults occupying the room and a valid credit card at time of booking. Only registered guests are allowed at the Coastal Chateau.

We offer either (2) or (4) complimentary beach tags per room reservation that must be returned at the time of checkout. Failure to return beach tags in the drop box will result in $50 replacement fee charged to the card used to book your stay. 

All rooms are subject to a 11.625% tax collected by the City of Ocean City. 

Don’t wait to book your stay if you find the perfect accommodation and date. Our room rates and minimum length of stay requirements are subject to change. 

When booking, keep maximum occupancy rules in mind. Our Queen/King rooms sleep a maximum of (2) people while our Double Queen Rooms sleep (4). If you are staying with a larger group, please book multiple rooms or explore our larger apartment offerings. 

Note on Accessibility: The Coastal Chateau is located in a historic building without an elevator, accessible solely via stairs. Unfortunately, this includes steep steps and a winding staircase. Although we prioritize inclusivity, architectural constraints prevent alternative access to guest rooms at this property. We are committed to providing assistance or accommodations to individuals with disabilities, despite structural limitations, whenever possible. ROOM POLICY: 

As a luxury accommodation, we’ve fully furnished your room with new, unique and expensive pieces. Property damages or missing items will be charged to your credit card at market value. Pre-existing damages or room issues must be reported immediately after check-in to avoid potential charges. 

If you find something you love, then check out our “Shop the Chateau” option on the website. We’ve linked a number of items you can purchase and enjoy at your own home. And if you don’t see the item, shoot us an email at hello@coastalcheateuocnj.com and we’ll send you a link! 

ROOM CLEANING POLICY: 

To limit unwanted contact, in-room housekeeping will only be offered for guest rooms (not apartments) by request during your stay. Should any guest room or apartment need fresh towels or linens, please message us at hello@coastalchateauocnj.com.

PARKING POLICY: 

We offer off-site overnight parking for an additional $20/night at the Charlie lot down the street (an approximate 5-minute walk).  Only one vehicle is allowed per reservation and must be registered at time of check-in to avoid fines and towing.  

Since parking spaces are limited, we recommend guests purchase parking in advance of your stay. Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee a spot for every room and it may not be available on the day of your arrival.  

Before you park, please take advantage of our ultra-convenient (2) luggage loading zones directly out front of the property. This way you can unload your luggage prior to parking and keep things super stress-free.  

The Coastal Chateau does not take responsibility or accept liability for damage, accident or loss to your vehicle or personal property. Additional street parking is available at no cost throughout the island.

LUGGAGE POLICY: 

If you arrive before check-in, we’ll gladly store your luggage in a designated area. However, please note that the Coastal Chateau does not accept responsibility for any items left in storage. You may prefer to keep luggage safely secured in your vehicle until your room is ready. We strongly advise packing light, particularly if you’re staying on one of our upper floors.   

While our historic building is charming, please be aware that it lacks the convenience and accessibility of an elevator or spacious staircases. Not to fret, though - we'll have complimentary water bottles waiting for you in your room upon your arrival!

BEACH EQUIPMENT POLICY: 

As a courtesy to other guests, please leave beach chairs and other beach equipment outside the Coastal Chateau. Items may be conveniently stored under the main outdoor staircase. We kindly ask that guests brush off sandy items prior to returning to your room.

BREAKFAST POLICY: 

Join us each morning between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. for a delightful breakfast experience in our lobby or wrap around porch. Enjoy a complimentary spread of freshly brewed coffee, a variety of teas, fresh fruits, and delectable pastries. Please note, this is a light fare breakfast and not a full-course buffet. 

SMOKING & MARIJUANA POLICY: 

The Coastal Chateau is a smoke free property (including marijuana). All of our rooms, including apartments, common areas and outdoor spaces are strictly non-smoking. 

This policy applies to all conventional smoking and electronic smoking devices, such as vapes, vaporizers, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes, e-cigarettes, e-cigs, e-pipes, and any similar products. 

Guests found smoking in the rooms or leaving noticeable lingering smoking odors will be subject to a $250 room cleaning fee. 

ALCOHOL POLICY: 

Ocean City is a dry town, which means that we do not sell or serve alcoholic beverages on the premises. Guests may bring their own adult beverages and take advantage of the in-room mini fridges. We kindly ask all guests to be considerate of others and strictly prohibit alcohol consumption by individuals under the age of 21. 

PET POLICY: 

We know that pets are part of your family, and we're delighted to welcome them in any of our pet-friendly, private-access apartments. We welcome domestic pets such as dogs and cats (maximum of 2 per room). For any other types of pets, please contact the hotel directly to inquire about accommodations. 

A non-refundable pet fee of $35 per night (per pet) will be charged and includes pet-friendly amenities, such as treats, water bowls and waste disposal bags. Guests are responsible for any damages caused by their pets to the hotel property. An additional credit card charge of $250 or more will be applied for deep-cleaning or repairs due to pets.   

All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations and be free of fleas/ticks.  Pets must be well-behaved and non-disruptive to other guests. Excessive barking or aggressive behavior will not be allowed. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets both inside the room and on hotel grounds.

Housekeeping will not service rooms when pets are present, so please email hello@coastalchateauocnj.com if you need additional linens or toiletries.  

CHILD POLICY: 

While Ocean City is great for families, the Coastal Chateau offers a peaceful, upscale setting. We kindly ask that children avoid running, jumping, or being loud to maintain a relaxed atmosphere. 

If you have young children, you may prefer our apartment offerings with private entrances and bath tub amenities. Our goal is to ensure everyone enjoys a relaxing stay at the Coastal Chateau. 

Please note, we do not have cribs or pack-and-play available on site. Guests may bring their own items. 

KITCHEN POLICY: 

Our apartments are equipped with fully functional kitchens for your convenience. To ensure safety, please refrain from leaving burners unattended while cooking. Additionally, we kindly ask that you avoid using strong-smelling ingredients to prevent lingering odors. Please note that any lingering smells requiring room closure and deep cleaning will incur a cleaning fee of up to $150. 

FIREPLACE POLICY: 

The following accommodations offer fireplaces as an additional amenity: Treasure, Sands, Oasis & Hideaway. These are not operational during the summer months and will be turned on for guests to enjoy during the fall and winter seasons. 

GUEST SAFETY POLICY: 

We are fully equipped with the latest sprinkler, alarm, and emergency escape systems. All inspections are up-to-date. Our staff strictly adheres to a policy of confidentially. Therefore, guest identities, room location, or presence will never be disclosed except to authorized law enforcement personnel. This policy encompasses message-taking, call forwarding, and all other forms of communication. Guests are responsible for sharing their room details with individuals they wish to receive calls or visits from. Moreover, to improve our security measures, safety cameras are strategically positioned across the premises and monitoring everyone’s activity on our property.
