We created the Oliver Inn as a uniquely Duluth escape for friends and family seeking a historic boutique experience in the heart of iconic Duluth, Minnesota.
The hotel building was designed as Duluth’s original City Hall in 1889 by renowned architect Oliver Green Traphagen who left an undeniable imprint on the City of Duluth. In addition to Old City Hall, Mr. Traphagen’s design portfolio included the infamous Old Central School, Munger Terrace and dozens of inspired buildings throughout the city. Special care was taken to preserve the historic elements of this significant building, retaining much of its original character while animating the space with new artistic perspectives that give voice to contemporary ideas about what it means to be a vibrant growing city in the new “roaring 2020s”.Each of the 13 rooms at The Oliver Inn tells a story about a unique Duluth personality whose courage to live their dream shaped the city we all know and love today. Terms and Conditions
Housekeeping:
- As a small family-owned business, we do our best to reduce our imprint on the world. We do this by taking small steps such as using sheets and towels throughout the duration of your stay. Should there be an accident, or you are staying with us longer than 3 days, we will be happy to refresh your room upon request.
- This refresh includes, trash, changing of the bedsheets when requested, stocking amenities, cleaning the toilet, and vacuuming the room. Any towels found on the floor will be replaced.
- Housekeeping is generally available 8am-2pm Sunday - Friday. We do our best to reserve Saturday for our staff to spend time with family. To help make your stay as comfortable as possible, when housekeeping is not available, there are closets stocked with items you may need.
Quiet Hours:
- With our building being over 100 years old, the ceilings and floors are not as soundproof as a newly constructed hotel. Because of this, we appreciate our guests respecting quiet hours from 10pm-8am. If you are being disturbed, please call us right away and we will contact the other guests.
Pet Policy:
- The Oliver Inn does not allow pets, except for service animals which are permitted by law. Emotional support animals and pets are not permitted. There is no fee for bringing a service animal, though we do ask that you give us appropriate notice if bringing a service animal in case of any staff members with allergies. Service animals must never be left in the room or anywhere on property unattended. You will be held responsible for any damage caused by your service animal. If there are any animals found in a room unauthorized, there will be a $100 fee charged, and you will be required to remove your animal from the premises immediately.
Smoking Policy:
- The Oliver Inn is a non-smoking hotel. Please step outside and at least 20 feet from the building and any doors or windows. If it is found that you have smoked in your hotel room or inside the property, you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund for the remainder of your stay, and you will be charged a $100 smoking fee.
Lost & Found:
- Please double check your entire room before checking out to ensure you have all of your belongings with you and nothing is left behind. The Oliver Inn will hold lost and found items for up to 30 days and after that they will be disposed of or donated if not claimed. Guests are responsible for any shipping fees associated with returning items left behind. The Oliver Inn is not liable for any items lost or stolen during the stay.
Cancellation Policy:
- We ask that all cancellations be made at least 14 days prior to arrival. The full payment of your stay will be charged 7 days prior to your arrival date, at which point your reservation will be non-refundable and non-cancellable.
