Just 8 minutes from downtown, in the heart of historic Wicker Park's restaurant, shopping and nightlife scene. Modeled in the European tradition, RUBY ROOM is neither a hotel nor a traditional B&B. Our concept is an Urban Inn. By design, we do not offer telephones or televisions. We do not offer 24 hour reception or bellman services. We make a practice of not entering your room during your stay, unless requested; guest rooms are entered & cleaned weekly during your stay and towels are refreshed every third day, upon request. Additional towels & room servicing is available for additional fee. RUBY ROOM is a historic property and does not offer an elevator. Please keep this in mind, if you or any of your guests have a challenge with mobility. What we do offer are outrageously comfortable pillow top mattresses with high thread count linens, large marble & glass showers, commercial steam units in 4 our deluxe rooms, complimentary Malin + Goetz products, crown molding and fine woodworking throughout. Modern furniture peppered with antiques, community kitchen, gorgeous garden with waterfall and all a part of a day spa, retail boutique, and a serene healing sanctuary. It is YOUR responsibility to schedule your arrival time with our concierge if you are not able to check in during our designated check in times. We do not have anyone on site that can help you check in after 7pm. If you do NOT notify us of your late arrival, you are effectively relinquishing your reservation. We DO NOT have a 24 hour front desk, bellman or concierge. All guests are responsible for transporting their own luggage. Check out is at or before 11am. Keys may be returned to the concierge desk or left in the drop box on your floor.
CONFIRMATION: All reservations will be confirmed via email. It is the responsibility of the guest to notify us in the event that email is not received within 48 hours after you have made your reservation. If you do not have an email confirmation within 48 hours of your reservation you do not have a reservation with us.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If your reservation is cancelled before 12:00 noon CST 14 days prior to your stay, a full refund is provided. Any cancellations that fall within the 14 day window will result in a full charge of the reserved stay. No-shows are charged the full cost of the reserved stay and it is non-refundable. Any guests terminating their stay for any reason prior to their agreed upon check out date will be charged the full cost of the reserved stay.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS PER ROOM: The maximum number of guests per room is 2. Visitors are welcome to visit your room anytime before 9:00pm. No visitors of our guests are allowed on the room floors after 9:00pm.
MINIMUM STAY REQUIREMENT: We require a two day minimum stay Friday - Sunday. There is no minimum stay requirement Monday - Thursday. During certain periods of the year, minimum stay policies are adjusted at our discretion and based on room availability.
TURN DOWN SERVICE/TOWELS: We do not enter your room during the course of your reservation unless we are asked to do so. We do not offer turn down service. In an effort to preserve the environment, we do not change linens or towels unless requested.
ENVIRONMENT: We ask that all guests maintain a lower tone of voice while on the room floors. We reserve the right to request that guests seek alternative accommodations if this policy is not respected.
ROOM EXTRAS: The items found in your room are the property of RUBY ROOM and may be found for purchase in our boutiques. If any of these items are damaged or taken from the property, we will automatically add these charges to your bill.
INTERNET ACCESS: Ruby Room offers complimentary WIFI. The WIFI password is located in your room. If our services are having trouble, there are several cafes within close proximity that offer complimentary service.
PARKING: Guests are invited to park in our loading zone for a maximum of 15 minutes during check in. There is ample free parking on side streets. If guests park ON Division Street overnight, they may be towed by the City of Chicago during certain times of the year. We suggest that you read the street signs and comply with City parking guidelines if you wish not to be ticket and towed. RUBY ROOM will not be liable for guests ticketed or towed by the City of Chicago.
SMOKING: Our facility is a smoke-free property, including the fire escapes, healing garden and pathway. Any guest smoking within the room floors will be immediately evicted from the property with no refunds provided. A $200 fine will be charged for smoking on room floors.
STEAMER, KITCHEN: A stationary clothing steamer is permanently located on the 3rd floor across from the community kitchen. You are welcome to use our community kitchen and ask that you return it to a clean state after use.
KEYS: There will be a $100 charge for any keys not returned or lost.
RIGHT OF SERVICE: RUBY ROOM reserves the right to deny service and evict any guest that does not respect our property, our quiet policy or is disruptive in any way to our other guests. In the event a guest is asked to vacate the property, no refund will be provided.
EMERGENCY CONTACT: Our concierge are not responsible for your stay. Concierge can gladly make reservations for you in our salon, spa, or healing sanctuary and they will be happy to suggest local restaurants and shopping hot spots. There is an overnight contact for urgent matters. Please call 866.782.9766 in cases of emergency only. This number is not a substitute for dialing 911.
ELEVATOR NOTICE: RUBY ROOM resides in two historic buildings. As a result, our facility does not offer an elevator. All rooms are located on the 3rd and 4th floors and are only accessible via stairs. RUBY ROOM does not provide a room attendant to assist with your luggage. Please be advised that you are responsible for the transportation of your belongings.
MULTIPLE ROOM STAY: If during your stay you switch rooms, you must check out of your initial room by 11am on the day of your room change. Failure to do so will result in a $50.00 manual room change fee added to your account upon check out. If the front desk is not available when you move your belongings, please leave your key in the drop box and your luggage packed in your room. In this case, we will be happy to transfer your luggage at no additional cost. You may pick up your new room keys at the front desk anytime during normal business hours. If your keys are not picked up during business hours, instructions will be left for you in the brass mail box located in the front of the building at 1745 W. Division. If you have any questions please contact the front desk prior to your room change.
