Terms and Conditions
Your reservation is guaranteed until the day of arrival. After that time, it will no longer be guaranteed, and the room may be reassigned. 100% booking rate will be collected upon booking and must be paid to confirm your reservation. The hotel has the right to cancel your reservation if we do not receive the Pre-Payment Deposit. We will send you a cancellation confirmation via email immediately after cancelling your booking.

You can check-in any time after 3PM PST. Unit keys will be waiting for you in your assigned unit. We offer contactless check-in, so no need to check-in with anyone on property. The balance of the full stay amount is payable at the time of booking. Please note that check-in cannot be completed until full payment and security deposit pre-authorization for the payment has been received and approved. A unit key is provided at check-in. The cost of any keys needing replacement will be taken from the deposit.
Our caretaker is happy to provide you with any information which may be required during your stay such as the location of near-by shops, good places where you can eat, sights you may like to see, etc. Don’t hesitate to reach out for anything that would make your stay more enjoyable and convenient. CANCELLATION POLICY
Please carefully read our cancellation policy. We cannot make any exceptions to this. Our staff is instructed to follow this policy and rules. To save any misunderstanding we would be grateful if you can observe the following:

During your stay, the rental unit and all equipment and furniture should be treated with care and kept in order. Immediate notification to The McKenzie Resort staff will be expected of any damages or breakages in the apartment. You (The Tenant) are financially responsible for any damage to the rental unit. This includes losses caused by you (The Tenant) or a third-party negligent actions and behavior. A summary check will be made of the rental unit at check-out time. However, a more detailed review of the condition of the rental unit and all equipment and facilities will be made soon after check-out and before another guest occupies the rental unit. The Tenant is responsible for any damage or breakages found that are over and above normal wear and tear and usage. In this case, a detailed statement of damage along with an invoice for the repair or replacement cost will be sent by email immediately. Any costs will be deducted from the deposit immediately if this is still possible. Any costs will be claimed by return if they are greater than the deposit or where the deposit has already been returned. Please note, immediate notification after check-out of any damage to, breakages in or issues with the rental unit is expected.
McKenzie River Resort can then take any necessary action to resolve any issues and make sure all the equipment and facilities are working and provided as expected.
Damage deposit is fully refundable upon check-out and subject to damage inspection of the accommodation. The deposit OF $500 must be paid upon check-in, in cash or by credit card, along with a balance and is fully refunded at the check-out if the rental unit is in good order and the company does not have any claims. The costs of damage or cleaning beyond what would be expected after responsible usage of the rental unit will be deducted from the deposit, and the refunded amount will be the remainder of the damage deposit. Entire rental units ARE fully NON-smoking! By booking at The McKenzie Resort, we assume you understand these policies. A $350 fine will be issued to the renter if traces of smoking are found in the rental unit.
STANDARD BOOKING PRICE
The standard booking price includes the following: All taxes.
- Utilities (water, gas, and electricity)
- Internet and Cable TV usage
- Towels, bed linen (exception: dormitories)
- Cleaning before and after your stay (daily cleaning is not available)
- All apartment amenities and facilities as mentioned on our website pages and in our correspondence.
EXTENDING YOUR STAY
After you have booked your stay with us, you can extend your stay (depending on availability) by simply letting us know before you arrive.
If you are already staying with us and you would like to stay longer, please let us know at least 24 hours before your check- out date. We will do our best to accommodate your new plans and this can include relocating you to a similar rental unit should this be necessary.
RESORT EVENT POLICY
Any and all events must be communicated to The McKenzie Resort. This includes any gathering of more than 20 people, such as family reunions, corporate retreats. church camps, youth events, weddings, reunions, parties, etc. Failure to do so will result in a substantial fee which will be determined by the Resort based on the size of your event.
We are happy to host any and all sized events but ask that everything is communicated to the Resort. Not only for the experience of other guests, but to create the best possible experience for you and your group and to ensure the property is prepared and staffed accordingly. We are happy to create packages including discounted rates, room blocks, meal plans, and extra facility amenity usage at a fee including the Great Hall and gymnasium. Thank you!
GREAT HALL RENTAL
The Great Hall is available to rent as a meeting or event space for $600 per day, 8 hours minimum, $50 thereafter. Please contact us at least 15 days in advance to reserve this space, availability is not guaranteed. This includes usage of chairs and tables. This fee does not reflect kitchen rental or buffet line rental.
GYM RENTAL
Our indoor gym is available for rental at $300 per day, 8 hours minimum, $50 thereafter. Please contact us at least 15 days in advance to reserve this space, availability is not guaranteed.
CHILDREN POLICY
Children are welcome at McKenzie River Resort and are included in the total # of guests permitted in each rental unit. Children must be supervised and under control. There is both an unfenced pond and a fenced pool on property, both with no Lifeguard on duty – you are responsible for the safety and well-being of your child. Children are not allowed at the pool or pond unsupervised under any circumstances.
PET POLICY
There are no pets allowed in our newly renovated units. Units will be checked for hair and damage after your stay. If any damage is found there will be a charge of $250 charged to the card we have on file.

ROOM / RENTAL UNIT POLICY
Pre-existing damage or room issues must be reported to management immediately after registration to avoid responsibility and potential charges.
The hotel allows guests, with permission, to receive occasional packages and special deliveries to the property – please notify us in advance so we know what to do with it. We are not responsible for the packages or their contents or the storage of them.
Quiet time from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the whole property goes into hush mode for what we like to call Quiet time (or sleep time). Please be respectful and aware of other guests.
We are not responsible for items left behind in your rental unit. We will do our best to return any items left behind. Guest is responsible for any shipping costs associated.
KITCHEN POLICY
Please practice safe cooking habits, do not leave burners unattended. Please do not cook with strong smelling ingredients. Lingering smells that require room closure and deep cleans will be charged a cleaning fee of up to $500.
PARKING POLICY
Note that all vehicles must be owned by registered guests. In the case that a non-registered guest is on property, they must be off the premises by 8PM. We recognize that sometimes groups do not always stay at the same Resort / Hotel, so if you plan to have guests, we ask that you tell us in advance.
MINIMUM AGE
All guests must be 21 years or older to confirm guest room accommodation at The McKenzie Resort. We reserve the right to ask for photo ID to verify name and age upon check-in.
ALCOHOL POLICY
The McKenzie Resort does not sell or give alcohol to guests. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol on your property, but we ask that you drink responsibly. Underage consumption of alcohol is not permitted and may result in immediate eviction from the property.
DISABILITY POLICY
McKenzie River Resort recognizes the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We offer accessible rooms within the resort, including all Hill and O’Neil Lodge Suites, and entire Lodges of Hill and O’Neil. Please ensure requests reach us by placing them in the comments section of the online reservation form, or by emailing us directly at jordan@themckenzieresort.com, after the reservation has been made.
ROOM CLEANING POLICY
Room refreshments will not be offered during stays. Should you need fresh towels or linens, please call the Resort number at (541) 856-1311.
CHECK OUT / TRASH POLICY
Check out is 11AM. Prior to check out please strip the beds and pile all dirty linens together. Any excess trash should be deposited into the dumpsters on the West side of the Great Hall. The 1st dumpster closest to the Great Hall is for cardboard, the next two dumpsters are for trash. If checkout is not completed by 11AM you may be assessed an additional night's stay.
DO NOT leave excess trash in your unit or outside, you will be charged for any damage or a trash removal fee. This includes excess cardboard and/or recyclables. No need to check-out with anyone, you are welcome to leave your unit key where you found it and depart.
FIREARMS / BB GUN POLICY
Firearms are not permitted on property and may result in immediate removal from property. The only exception to the restrictions described in this firearms policy statement is for law enforcement officers and designated military personnel, who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties.
FIREWORKS POLICY
Fireworks are not allowed on property under any circumstance. Fireworks will result in immediate removal of guest(s) from property without a refund.
FIRE PIT POLICY
Fires are allowed in the firepit at the amphitheater only and must be supervised at all times. The last person at the firepit at the end of the night is solely responsible for ensuring the fire is 100% put out. The fire pit is a community space, and all activities / conversations should be suitable for other guests present. 12PM is closing time for the firepit.
FLY FISHING POND
Our Fly-Fishing Pond is stocked with trout, and all registered guests are permitted to fish in the pond. Sunrise to sunset. Catch and release only, and all fishing must be done with a fly rod and dry fly – there is no exception to this rule, including children. The pond is lined, and any use of hooks will damage the integrity of the pond and/or injure the fish. Children must always be supervised while in the pond area.
POOL POLICY
Our seasonal outdoor unheated pool is open to guests from Memorial Day through Labor Day. While we do our best to ensure the pool is 100% open to guests during this time, it is always a possibility that a repair needs to be made or maintenance needs to be performed. We will do our best to notify all guests if the pool is scheduled to be closed for any reason during this time, however, there is no refund or discount should this happen.
A lifeguard is not on duty and children must always be supervised. Horseplay is not permitted at the pool, and children and adults alike must be respectful of other guests while using the pool area. This includes any unnecessary yelling, running, jumping, splashing, etc. The pool is a small space, so please keep it under control.
Alcohol is not permitted at the pool, nor are glass containers. Pets are also not permitted at the pool (per the health dept.) We appreciate you following these rules to keep our space clean and open.
While we welcome your personal floaties, please do not bring in oversized floaties that could inhibit another guest's use of the pool.
GUEST SAFETY POLICY
As part of our commitment to guest safety, employees will not disclose the identity, room number or presence of a guest to anyone other than appropriate law enforcement. This includes the taking of or delivery of messages or indirect forwarding of phone calls. Guests are responsible for communicating their presence and room number to anyone they wish to receive calls or visits from. The resort assumes no responsibility for any personal bodily injury incurred while using the gym/fitness center/pool facilities, where available. If you use the gym/fitness center/pool facilities, you do so at your own risk. Lifeguards are not on duty at the pool and children must be supervised at all times.
