We were the first purpose built lodge in Paihia and following a change of ownership in mid 2019 Peppertree has been lovingly given an upgrade. Property and Cancelation Policies :
To avoid late cancellation or No Show charges, cancellation and modification notifications MUST be received by us no later than 2 days (48 hours) prior to arrival date.
Group Bookings (bookings of more than 6 people)
To avoid late cancellation or No Show charges, cancellation and modification notifications for groups over 6 people MUST be received by us no later than 7 days prior to arrival date.
Terms and Conditions
1. PAYMENT & IDENTIFICATION
A valid credit card is required to reserve all bookings and may be used as security against your stay in our accommodation and key bond. A valid International Passport and credit card is also required to validate your stay on arrival.
2. CANCELLATIONS
Notice of cancellation is required no later than 2 days (48 hours) prior to check in date. If you do not notify in sufficient time a charge equal to the first night stay will still be payable. Should you wish to shorten a reservation after arrival the cost of the entire stay may still be payable. Charges are at the discretion of management.
3. MINIMUM AGE LIMIT
Guest minimum age limit is 18 years. Children are not permitted on-site.
4. CHECK IN TIMES
Check in is from 2:00pm. Late check-ins can be arranged, and are left in our late box outside reception. Please advise us where possible if you are arriving after hours. We do not offer a 24- hour reception.
5. KEY & HIRE/LOAN ITEMS
Should you not return your keys or hostel items before checking out or lose your keys, a minimum $50 fee per set will be payable /charged.
6. OCCUPANCY TERMS
The number of guests occupied in the room shall not exceed the number of guests booked. Should we observe that this occupancy has been exceeded overnight, a $50 penalty will apply. We also reserve the right to terminate the reservation for any breaches at any time, without a refund.
7. CHECK OUT TIMES
Check out times are no later than 10:00am to allow our cleaning team to start. If you are leaving before 9am please leave your key in our early check-out box - keys must be left in the key drop box. Once guests have checked out they may wait in the guest lounge if they are using public transport.
8. SMOKE/FIRE ALARMS
Smoking is NOT permitted at any time within the building. Failure to comply will result in a penalty of a minimum of $300.00 to cover additional cleaning costs and room closures. Should smoking or tampering with smoke detectors in a room activate the fire alarm system, emergency services call out fine from $1500.00 may be applicable. Triggering the Hostel fire alarm system, through negligence including while cooking, may incur penalty charges. Fire Services charge a minimum of $1500 per fire truck that attends a false alarm callout.
9. ALCOHOL & DISTURBANCES
Alcohol can be consumed in moderation in the common areas guest lounges and kitchen/dining room only. Alcohol must NOT be consumed in guest room or bathrooms. Guests causing a disturbance to other guests or staff will have their reservation terminated without a refund.
10. AFTER HOURS CALL OUT FEE - If a guest loses their keys and requires staff to open the hostel doors/room for them between 8pm - 7:00am there will be a $50 call out charge payable.
11. DAMAGES or THEFT
The person(s) registering as the guest(s) will be liable for any loss or damage to appliances, furniture, keys, fixtures & all fittings of the hostel. This hostel will not be responsible for, or liable to compensate for the loss, theft or damage of personal property on, or brought into the hostel building. Where guests sign for and on behalf of a business or authority, and in the event that the business or authority is unable to or refuses to pay any amount due, the Guest(s) shall be liable to pay on demand any amount owing by the business or authority under this agreement.
12. EXTRA CLEANING CHARGES
A reasonable standard of cleanliness is expected to be maintained in your room. If additional cleaning is required due to guests not abiding by our hostel terms and condition (for example smoking or drinking), a minimum extra cleaning charge of $50 will be charged. A room closure fee may also apply.
