PAYMENT: All reservations and registration must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover Card. Persuant to all credit card agreements, credit cards must be signed by the cardholder. Guests staying at the Clear River Inn will be charged a non-refundable deposit of a one night's stay 7 days prior to arrival. The remaining balance (if any) will be charged within 24 hours of arrival. Guests staying in our off-site accommodations will be charged 50% of their reservation balance 14 days prior to their arrival date. The remaining 50% of the balance will be charged 7 days prior to their arrival date. If the credit card is invalid, the guest will be contacted and will have 48 hours to provide a valid credit card before the reservation is canceled. If the guest wishes to pay with a different form of payment upon check-in, they are responsible for contacting the property at least 24 hours in advance. Cash (USD) payment or payment with a debit card is welcomed with a preauthorization of $250 per stay (subject to change for longer term stays) that will be held until the guest checks out. We will hold your card information on file in the event any damages are inflicted upon the room. Should any damages be inflicted or items be missing from the room, the Clear River Inn will charge the guest accordingly using the card on file. Checks and foreign currency not accepted.
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE: The Clear River Inn is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws. The Clear River Inn has a zero tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the State of Vermont and the owners for the operation and management of the hotel. The Clear River Inn will refuse service or evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance with state liquor laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests; is unable to properly supervise their children at all times, seeks to use the hotel for an unlawful purpose; seeks to bring into the hotel: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or something, including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to possess and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to hotel property or guests; causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of room, refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by the Clear River Inn for the operation and management of our hotel.
DO-NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS: To provide all of our guests with an exceptionally clean and safe hotel experience, we reserve the right to enter your guestroom for reasonable purposes, such as for housekeeping, maintenance, to verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Hotel Policy/House Rules. Hotel staff will normally knock and announce themselves before entering your guestroom, unless we believe that exigent circumstances exist. Please let the Front Desk know if you are a “Day Sleeper” or you are staying in the room due to illness. Management reserves the right to enter a room with a known status of “Do Not Disturb” in the event of an emergency, suspected illegal activity taking place, disturbing other guests, or damage being done to hotel property. In the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to aid in eviction. The right to privacy ends when a Hotel Policy/House Rule is broken. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access.
QUIET HOURS: 10:00pm to 9:00am.Televisions, voices, or other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times. Doors should be opened and closed quietly. Please be mindful while walking around out of respect to other guests on property.
DISCOUNTS: We do not offer discounted room rates for participation or employment in organizations such as AAA, AARP, government employees, etc.
CHILDREN: Well behaved children of all ages are welcomed. Children aged 17 and under stay for free when sharing a room with one or more paying adult(s), using existing bedding. As the parents, guardians, or chaperones of children you are personally and legally responsible for and must supervise them at all times. For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the hotel property unsupervised.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: Room occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions. Deluxe & Standard Double rooms maximum occupancy are 4 including a maximum of two children. Deluxe & Standard King maximum occupancy is 2 plus one child. The Deluxe Two Bedroom Suite maximum occupancy is 8. The Farmhouse Suite maximum occupancy is 5. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent another guestroom for proper accommodations or vacate the hotel.
EXTRA PERSON CHARGE: Deluxe & Standard Double & King rooms have an included occupancy of 2 adults. The Deluxe 2-Bedroom Suites have an included occupancy of 8 adults. The Farmhouse Suite has an included occupancy of 5 adults. There is a $15 fee per extra adult, per night. If there are additional occupants not included in the original reservation, and/or not accounted for upon check-in, the guest who is responsible for the reservation is subject to a $15 fee per extra adult, per night.
LOST & FOUND POLICY: The Clear River Inn assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately (802)-746-7916 and we will try our best to assist you in locating your lost item. Lost & Found items are held for fourteen (14) days while we attempt to contact the guest. If guest contact information is incorrect or cell phone mailbox is full and we are unable to contact the guest during the fourteen (14) day holding period, the unclaimed item(s) are thrown away, given to local organizations, or disposed of accordingly by the Clear River Inn. If the guest would like a found item to be shipped back to them, the guest is responsible for shipping charges.
SMOKING POLICY: Smoking is not permitted in any rooms in the building and is illegal in the state of Vermont. You are welcome to step outside your door to smoke with the door closed. A cleaning fee of $250 will be charged to the guests card on file if there are any signs that the room has been smoked in.
DAMAGE AND / OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY: The guest is liable for any damage howsoever caused (whether by deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room(s), hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party, whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. The Clear River Inn reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details and charge or debit the credit/debit card such amounts as it shall, at its sole discretion, deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Clear River Inn as a result of the aforesaid. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right, and you hereby authorize us, to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: Check in time is 4:00pm. Please notify us if you will be arriving earlier, however, we cannot guarantee that the room will be ready before official check-in time. Check out time is at 11:00am. Please place the "maid service" sign outside of your door when you leave so we know you have vacated the room. If you have keys, please drop your keys in the key drop off mailbox outside the front office upon your departure. If you require a late check out, please contact the front desk and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
PET POLICY: The Clear River Inn is a pet friendly hotel, however, not all guest rooms allow pets. All guests bringing a pet must book under the "PET FRIENDLY" rate or speak with the hotel directly to guarantee a pet friendly room will be available upon check-in. Any guest who brings their pet without booking the "PET FRIENDLY" rate OR notifying the front desk are subject to a $75 fee in addition to the $20 per night required pet fee. The "PET FRIENDLY" rate is valid for up to (1) large pet or (2) small pets. Any additional pets are subject to an additional fee.
