Our reception desk is open from 8 AM to 11 PM. If you’re arriving after 11PM you must notify us the day of your arrival before 10 PM to arrange for a late check in. Failure to arrange for a late check in can result in your bed being resold and not getting access to the property.
We collect a fully refundable $10 CASH key deposit from every person staying in a dorm and one per private room on check in. Please check out on time so we can return your deposit! If you are checking out earlier than 8 AM, please see us the night before to arrange an early check out. There will be no other way to get your key deposit back so please see us the night before if you are leaving before reception opens!
We do not allow children under the age of 12 to stay at the hostel. You must be a minimum of 18 years old to stay in a dorm bed. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Guests checking in with children under the age of 12 will unfortunately be turned away and forfeit their deposit.
Unfortunately we cannot allow pets at the hostel unless it is a certified service animal. Any guest needing a service animal will need to book a private room; unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets in dorm rooms.
Our kitchen is open from 8 AM to 10 PM and locked outside of those hours, please plan accordingly!
We enforce quiet hours from 10 PM - 8 AM. During this time we ask you to be respectful of others trying to sleep and the neighborhood by turning off music and keeping voices down. We love letting everyone hang out but if it becomes too loud we are forced to shut down the common area so please be respectful so everyone can enjoy their time here!
Our kitchen hours are between 8AM-10PM
Getting to the Hostel!
We are located at 310 N. Market Street, Wailuku, HI 96793. An Uber or taxi is an easy fifteen minute ride, costs about $20 and takes about fifteen minutes.
From the airport by car, get onto Airport Road. Stay on Airport Road (stay to the Right, if you stay to the left you go back to the terminal!) until you hit a traffic light at a main thoroughfare. This is Highway 36. Take a Right onto Highway 36 and follow until it makes a slight left to turn into Highway 32 (stay on the right side lanes, not the far left lanes). Follow Highway 32 for about 2.5 miles until you reach N. Market Street. Take a Right onto N. Market Street and follow that down. After the first stop sign, keep an eye out for a bridge. We are the bright turquoise building directly after the bridge (you will want to turn Right onto Kapoai Place). Parking is available along Kapoai Place on the side of the hostel, as well as a small lot past the buildings (you will see two spaces marked "No Parking" and a dirt lot, you can park anywhere besides the "no parking" spaces in the lot!). If that is all full, you can go back up towards the street you came from, turn Right and there is street parking all along the road. The parking is "technically" 2 hour parking but after 6 PM you can leave your car there until 10 AM.
You can also take the bus but please note they will not allow you on the bus with large luggage ("large" being very subjective to each individual bus driver). If you would like to take the bus, find the bus stop at the Airport. You can take the 35 or 40 to the Queen Kaahumanu Center, and then the 1 or 2 to the Banana Bungalow (our stop is Pi'ihana Terrace but just let the bus driver know where you would like to get off!) Be sure to buy an "All Day Pass" when you get on, it is $4 exact change only and the bus pass can be used all day with unlimited transfers!
