The Village Inn Motel is a quiet retreat nestled in a charming UP farming community. We are remote, but we promise it is a good thing! A scenic 20 minute drive gets you to all the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore locations and lets you avoid the noise and bustle of being right in town. In addition, Chatham places you in a central location to explore other UP destinations in Marquette and Delta counties, as well as some of the nicest waterfalls in the UP just a few miles from the Inn.

All Inn guest rooms open to the back parking area and have main floor (no steps) entry. Our rooms are large, recently updated and most importantly sparklingly clean. All rooms have comfortable new Queen-Sized mattresses, Keurig Coffee Makers (pods provided), mini fridges and microwaves.

Property and Cancelation Policies :
- If it becomes necessary to cancel a reservation which you have guaranteed with your
credit card, you must notify the Village Inn Motel by phone fourteen days prior to your stay with us to
avoid a cancellation fee (equivalent to one night's stay).
- If you do not provide adequate notice, or fail to cancel your
guaranteed reservation, your credit card will be charged in full for the first night of your stay
and the remaining days of your stay will be canceled.
- If you must leave before your scheduled departure date, please understand that your unused room nights will be subject to the cancellation policy above.
Terms and Conditions
CONTACT-FREE CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS
You will not need to check-in at our lobby when you arrive at the property. Check-in is completely contactless.
Our Lobby front desk is usually open in the morning from 7-10 AM and afternoon from 3-10 PM. If we are off site, we will have posted how we can be reached.
- The first night of stay will be charged as a deposit. Any remaining balance will be charged the morning of your arrival. If your stay is cancelled less than 14 days prior to your arrival, your deposit will serve as the cancellation fee.
- All phone reservations will follow the same payment/deposit structure as online reservations and will be sent an invoice for review along with a link for payment.
- All our Double Queen Rooms are based on 2-person occupancy. Additional guests over the age of 6 will be charged at the rate of $10/person. Full occupancy of a Double Queen Room is 4 persons over the age of 6.
- The Superior Family Room is based on 4-person occupancy. Additional guests over the age of 6 will be charged at the rate of $10/person. Full occupancy of the Superior Family Room is 6 persons over the age of 6.
- All rooms are subject to a 6% State of Michigan Sales Tax.
Pet Policy
We are a pet free establishment. Because of the health concerns of our owners and guests, pets are not allowed in our guest rooms. This keeps our rooms allergen and worry free. Guests who bring pets into rooms will be charged a $250 cleaning fee and will be asked to leave the property. No refund will be given.
Smoking Policy
Breathe easy. All units at The Village Inn Motel are Non-Smoking. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name. Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents in rooms will result in a $250 room cleaning fee. If you would like to smoke, you may do so outside, provided it is not disturbing other guests.
Quiet hours
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. During this time, we ask that you respect your neighbors and keep noise to a minimum.
Parking
Vacations should be stress-free and for that reason, you get to park right in front of your room (or super close). Please do not block other guest doors or park parallel to the building. Additional vehicles or trailers can be parked in the grassy or plowed area directly behind the Inn. By parking a vehicle at our facility, you (and your guests) are doing so on your own accord. The Village Inn does not take responsibility or accept liability for damage, accident or loss to your vehicle or personal property.
Room Cleaning
Room refreshes will not be offered during stays. Should you need fresh towels, extra shampoo/conditioner, or coffee pods/condiments, please help yourself to our self-serve table in the lobby (half glass door at the center of the building)
Room Charges and Damage
When you book with us, our system keeps your card on file to cover any room charges and damage. Damage to furniture, linens and other property will be assessed and then billed to the customer at our replacement cost, which may include labor costs. We will always be transparent in our communication about damage to the rooms. Keep in mind that excessively soiled linens, carpets and furniture will be included as damages.
Occupancy
- Number of Adults should include all occupants 7 years of age and older.
- All guests registering must be 18 years of age or older
- Identification may be requested upon check-in.
- No more than four persons (not including children 6 years or younger) may occupy a room with two beds.
