Property Information

Plas Llechhylched is a group of holiday cottages, mostly accessed off a central shared courtyard and surrounded by fields, this is a fabulous place to share with family, friends and loved ones (including the dog!).

Set 3 miles outside of Rhosneigr, it was built by the Sheriff of Anglesey in 1886, as a statement of his wealth, and formed part of his estate that stretched nearly to the sea.  The Manor House, sleeping 6 adults and 2 children, was renovated in the 1980's by an ex-Vogue model and a sausage tycoon as their party house in the country.  It was also rumoured to be considered by HRH Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when he was serving as a helicopter pilot at RAF Valley.  The Hayloft was the first of our new barn conversions, designed as a relaxing retreat for two and we now also have the Coach House with three, en-suite doubles, Gamekeepers that sleeps four with a shared shower room and The Old Dairy with two en-suite king size bedrooms with The Forge, The Tack Room and The Stables nearing completion.

Entering the courtyard through the lion topped gates, the avenue of lime trees will lead you up the drive towards the clock above the main house, that contains the bell of the SS Olinda, wrecked on Harry Furlong rocks off Anglesey in 1853 and salvaged by the Sheriff for this house.

Plas Llechylched is privately owned and managed and we take great pride in preparing it each time, so that every guest can love being here as much as we do.

Authority to Book
Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under 18 years of age.   The person making the booking, the “Lead Guest”, certifies that he / she is authorised to agree to the Booking Conditions on behalf of all persons included in the Party. The Lead Guest confirms that they will be one of the holiday makers staying in the property.

Guests Obligation
The Lead Guest agrees to pay for any breakages, losses or damage to the property that occurred during their stay, prior to leaving the property. All guests agree to:

  • Take reasonable and proper care of the property
  • Leave it clean and tidy including ensuring all the kitchen equipment is clean (or the dishwasher loaded and running)
  • Report any damage, whether caused by them or found on arrival at the property, to The Company immediately
  • Permit The Company reasonable access to the property to carry out any urgent maintenance.  Under no circumstances are repairs to be carried out by the Guests without The Companies permission.
  • Not to sublet or share the property except with the persons nominated when booking.
  • Not to exceed the number of guests identified at the time of booking.
  • Not smoke within the property and where smoking outside, ensure all cigarette ends are suitably disposed of.
  • Respect other guests and the staff working at the property.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome at the property but need to be registered at the time of Booking or The Company advised in advance of the start date.

Any puppies under the age of 12 months by the Start Date of the holiday must be advised by email at the time of Booking or prior to the Start Date and The Company must give express permission for them to stay.  The Company does not wish to withhold this, but will seek information to ensure that the puppy is appropriate trained or controlled.

Dogs should not be permitted in the bedrooms or on any of the furniture.  Please bring your own dog blankets / bed to protect floor coverings etc.  Dog owners are responsible for any extra cleaning that is incurred, either in the property or in the grounds. Any fouling within the grounds must be cleared up without delay.

Dog owners must ensure their animals are kept under close control (on a lead) whilst in the area immediately outside the property (both back and front) to ensure they don’t cause a nuisance or intimidate other occupants and because there are open fields surrounding the property containing livestock.  There is a paddock accessed off the drive that is available for suitably trained and well behaved dogs to run freely.

Dogs must not be left alone in the property – damage is often caused by dogs being left alone in unfamiliar surroundings or they can be disruptive to other guests if they become stressed and bark, howl or whine.

We reserve the right to refuse dogs at the time of booking or at the time of notification.

Parking
Each cottage has a specified number of parking spaces and only the corresponding number of cars should be brought to the property by Guests.  Should Guests require additional spaces, this should be agreed before arrival.  There is no nearby road or public parking.

Accessibility
None of the cottages are specifically designed with any accessibility needs in mind.  Any Guests will specific requirements should check prior to arrival that the cottage will be suitable for them.

Cancellation
If the Lead Guest wishes to cancel the booking they should inform The Company immediately by email.  Upon receipt of the confirmation, The Company will endeavor to re-let the property (but without any obligation to the Party).  If a new booking is obtained then any monies paid will be refunded to the Lead Guest.  If The Company is unable to re-let then the Lead Guest will remain liable for any outstanding balance of the cost of the holiday.

NB Please take out holiday insurance so you ensure you are protected. If, for any reason beyond The Companys control, the property is not available on the date booked, all payments made will be refunded in full.  The Party shall have no further claims against The Company.

Use of Personal Information
The Company needs to retain personal information in order to operate and to comply with the law.  The Company will process the data required to carry out the contract between us.  In some instances (availability requests etc) we may collect personal information on you without a contractual relationship.  We will not supply your personal information to a third party, except where it is required in delivering the service or it is required by law.  Guests may post on our website or engage with The Company through social media and in doing so, it is up to the individual to assess how this may be used.   It may be necessary to communicate with Guests or Individual members of the public about complaints or enquiries for which we will retain the request and personal information, so The Company can track communication and ensure a high level of service.

Pandemics (such as Covid-19)
Where the Government or our Local Authority applies restrictions that prevent travel to the cottage, The Company will move the booking to another mutually acceptable date.  Where this is a price difference, the Lead Guest or the Company will settle the difference.  Where Guests are unable to travel due to restrictions within their Local Authority or due to illness, self-isolation or others means, the Company will not be responsible and no refund or new dates will be offered.

Safety

We would like to draw your attention to the following hazards:
  • Pond on the front lawn that is not fenced of varying depths
  • Wooded area to side of property
  • Various out buildings (to which access is not permitted)
  • Hot tubs
  • Log burners
Every reasonable effort has been made to indicate possible safety hazards in the property however, it is ALL GUESTS responsibility (particularly parents with young children) to inspect the property and grounds immediately on arrival and note any possible hazards. Please check the layout of the property on arrival to ensure that in the event of an emergency you can quickly and easily get out. If you have any guests with special requirements, please discuss them with us in advance to ensure you have all the relevant information.

Hot Tubs

Hot tubs are used entirely at the guests risk.  The Company accepts no responsibility for any illness or injury that results from using it.

Using a hot tub does expose you to the risk of rashes and irritation and whilst the hot tubs are regularly monitored to ensure the chemical balance is correct, the bromine used to control the water quality does degrade at different rates depending on amount of usage and the contaminates that are taken into it by those using it (lotions on the skin, sand from bathing costumes etc).

Where the cottage has a hot tub, please observe the following:
  • No children are permitted in the hot tub (medical advice is that they are not suitable for children)
  • Hot tubs should not be used if you are pregnant
  • Guests should be clean and sand free before getting in
  • Fake tan and make up should be removed before getting into the hot tub (otherwise they will make a brownish scum on top of the water)
  • Please don’t take glasses, food or drink in
  • Please shower when you get out to ensure you remove the bromine which is present in the water to keep it safe
  • The hot tub is cleaned and refilled between each booking as well as being regularly checked but if you have any concerns, please let us know
The Cottage & Grounds
Grass cutting and gardening is weather dependent and therefore may be carried out whilst you are staying at the property.   The Company cannot be held responsible for any disturbance which is beyond our control including RAF air manoeuvers or farming activity close to the property. Due to the age of the properties, there may be occasions when maintenance work is required.  This will be minimised as far as possible.
