The Porto Beach Lodge is located about 25
kilometers north of the center of Porto (35 minutes by metro) in a small pine
forest of the coastal village of Árvore.
Formerly owned by one
of Portugal's earliest wine-growing families, is located in the middle of green
pine trees within a stone's throw of the natural beach.
The main house and the adjoining house together offer
single, double and 3-bed rooms as well as two suites for 4 persons and two
dorms.
Except for the dorms, all rooms and suites have a private
bathroom and smart TV, a web-enabled TV that offers a variety of multimedia
applications, as well as USB ports and wireless charging stations for
smartphones.
The large living room
in the main house brings all guests together, offering a cozy sitting area, a
fireplace and TV as well as a spacious dining room and a sun terrace.
An extensive breakfast buffet with
carefully selected products, awaits you every morning.
For additional meals and self-catering a fully equipped,
shared kitchen is available any time.
With a distance of only 400 meters to the
sea, you can reach the beach with 3 surf spots in a few minutes foot walk. The
several kilometers of sand is largely protected and part of the natural dune
landscape of the Natural Reserve of Mindelo, The beach is quite popular with surfers
and beach lovers due to its fine white sand and wave quality. At the northern end of the beach, at the
mouth of the river Ave, lies Praia da Azurara, one of the best surf spots in
the North of Portugal, especially known for its consistent conditions as well
as for its relaxed atmosphere.

BOOKING CONDITIONS
These are the booking conditions applicable to holidays or activities bookedwith the PORTO SURF COMPANY or their brands PORTO BEACH LODGE, PORTO SURF SCHOOL and PORTO SUP TOURS.
BOOKING
A contract is created when a PORTO SURF COMPANY booking confirmation has been received by the participants in either verbal or written (letter, e-mail,etc.) form. In the case of last minute telephone bookings, when a written is not possible due to time constraints, then an agreement is made by verbal contract. When making a booking with the PORTO SURF COMPANY you are confirming that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions herein stated.Exceptions to these terms and conditions cannot be made for any reason since we maintain a high quality standard and have limited program spaces available.
PAYMENT
To secure your booking, 20% of the total course amount is due at the time of booking. The person submitting the booking accepts responsibility for payment of everyone listed in the booking and is responsible for ensuring that all other persons listed are aware of the terms and conditions. The rest of the payment will be made on the day of arrival.
CHANGING YOUR BOOKINGS
PORTO SURF COMPANY will make every effort to accommodate any changes requested after your booking has been confirmed. Any changes are subject to availability during your newly requested dates. If the total number of people in your group is reduced from the number stated in the original booking, PORTO SURF COMPANY must received a written notification, either by letter or e-mail. If changes to your booking are made less than 7 days before the date of your arrival you may still be responsible for paying the full amount of the original booking. Unexceptional and extenuating circumstances we may waiver the above, i.e.bereavement, serious illness, etc.
CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations must be received by either letter or e-mail and will be effective on the date in which they are received by PORTO SURF COMPANY. Cancellation fees are as follows:
> More than 7 days before the date of arrival: 0% of total amount charged.
> Less than 7 days before the date of arrival: 20% of total amountcharged.
> Failure to show up shall be charged in full. No exceptions.

COURSE PARTICIPATION, LIABILITY AND OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Surfing carries a degree of risk both to people and property, even ifenjoyed under proper supervision by qualified instructors. All participantsmust let us know if they have any medical conditions, illnesses or allergiesand if they are taking any prescribed medication that might affect theirperformance and participation. All participants must complete an enrolmentform before being allowed to take part in any listed activities. Parents orguardians must sign for participants under 18 years of age. For certain groups,i.e. schools, children’s programs, etc., a trusted teacher, group leader orguardian can sign for the underage participants. PORTO SURF COMPANY does notaccept any liability for any loss caused by failure to complete the enrolmentform.

Allparticipants must be able to swim at least 25 meters, unless senior surfinstructors make an exception. Under no circunstancies should participants beunder the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication which may adverselyaffect their physical abilities during the surf lesson. All participants mustagree to abide by the instructions and decisions that PORTO SURF COMPANY and itsinstructors make. Participants will have the use of PORTO SURF COMPANY equipmentduring their lessons. Where as PORTO SURF COMPANY takes all reasonable measuresto ensure the safety and proper condition of its equipment, participants areresponsible for immediately reporting any damage caused to the equipment ordamage which becomes apparent whilst the equipment is in their possession.
PORTOSURF COMPANY does not seek to limit or exclude any liability for personal injury or loss of life which may occur as a result of the school’s own negligence, or that of its employees, officers or agents. However, PORTO SURF COMPANY assumes no liability in respect to any personal injury, loss, damage, consequential loss or third party claims which occur through no fault of its own, its employees, officers or agents. All other liability or conditions implied by aware excluded to the fullest extent possible.
SURF / WEATHER CONDITIONS
In the rare event that PORTO SURF COMPANY onsiders conditions to be unsuitable for surfing, we will make all efforts to reschedule your lesson. Due to summer time demand there is a slight chance we may not be able to reschedule. In this case, we will give you 100% of your money back.

In the event you are informed the lesson runs the risk of cancellation, you decide to follow through with the pickup despite this information, and the lesson is indeed cancelled, no refund will be available to you.

PORTO SURF COMPANY is relieved of any liability due to any errors or omissions the brochure and website may contain, or any minor discrepancies between the brochure and website's service descriptions/contentand the service in it self. Any likeness or image of you taken during any of our surf courses or that we secure from you from your holiday photos, may be used by us without charge in all media for genuine promotional and/or marketing purposes. This includes promotional materials of any kind, such as brochures,leaflets, videos and the Internet. If you would prefer not to be used in any promotional materials, please inform us in writing prior to the start of your surf course.
PRICES
The prices displayed on this website and form are valid at the time of publication. PORTO SURF COMPANY reserves the right to increase or reduce any of these prices any time after publication.
LAW AND JURISDICTION
These conditions form a contract between you, the participant, and us,PORTO SURF COMPANY, which will be construed in accordance with Portuguese Law. It is agreed between both partes that each part will submit to the jurisdiction of the Portuguese Courts.
