Resort’s Terms & Conditions
Guidelines for Permai Rainforest Resort Guests
- All guests are requested to have their body temperature checked and scan check-in on their MySejahtera application QR Code which is available at the front desk, café and beach
- All guests are advised to wear a face/surgical mask at all times
- All guests are required to follow the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and theManagement of Permai Rainforest Resort, in which failing to do so, necessary action will be taken.
Check-in & Check-out times
Check in is from 2pm (not guaranteed in the event of high occupancy). Should you need to check into your accommodation earlier we are happy to assist, however it is subject to the availability of rooms. Guests are required to present either a passport or identity card upon check-in for registration purposes. Special requests are subject to availability upon check in and may incur additional charges. The resort reserves the right to refuse service to any guests who do not abide by or comply with the resort policies. 
Check out is at 11am. Any extension to the check-out time, either pre-arranged or as a late departure is subject to availability and will incur a charge of RM20 per hour.  Any check out that occurs after 3 pm will be charged another full nights stay.
Security Deposit

Permai Rainforest Resort requires a MYR 200 per stay deposit per room and RM300 for the Double Storey cabin in addition to the room rate in the form of cash or credit card upon check in. For credit card deposit transactions, we will hold (pre-authorise) the deposit value. It will be released 3- 14 days after departure depending on the credit card issuers processing speed. Cash deposits will not be refunded by using bank or online transfer if you fail to claim your deposit upon check out. 
Reservation Policy 
Guests must be at least eighteen (18) years old to book a room and to register upon check in.  Early reservations of room is recommended especially during weekends, holidays and in- season periods to insure your accommodation. Reservations can be done via phone, resort website, email and online booking engines. A confirmation shall be communicated to the delegate by email during regular office hours. 
Payment in full is required to secure your reservation.
Online Reservation 
Please note that our online reservation and availability inventory is subject to change without notice due to the fact that it is not 'real time availability. By clicking submit to confirm reservation, guest agrees to the rate and room policies of this reservation.
No-show/Shortened Stay 
No refund shall be made in the event of no show or shortened stay. 
Tourism Tax
A Tourism Tax applies to non-Malaysians under Section 6 of the Tourism Act of 2017. The tax is MYR10 per room per night to be paid upon check-in by cash only. 
Access to Resort Facilities
The use of resort facilities is available to all in-house guests and day-trippers. 
Liability
Guests’ liability for their account is not waived and guests agree to be held personally liable in the event that any indicated person, group, company or association fails to pay all or part of any charges incurred during their time in the resort.  
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Damai Rainforest Resort Sdn. Bhd. does not accept any liability arising out of any occurrences beyond its control including but not limited to acts of terrorism, acts of God, flood, war, strikes, riot, theft, delay, cancellation, civil disaster, government regulations or changes itinerary or schedule (collectively, “Force Majeure”). All activities have inherent risks to health and safety and Damai Rainforest Resort Sdn. Bhd. will not be responsible for any eventualities that arise related to any activities or services booked through The Resort website, service counters, via email, phone, social media or a third party or during your stay at the resort.  
Prohibited Items
The following items are not allowed in the Resort premises:·    

  • Machetes, axes, parangs or saws.
  • Flammable, explosive or hazardous materials·    
  • Objects emitting a foul odour     
  • Unregistered firearms or other weapons·      
  • Objects of an unusually large size or in unusually large quantities ·     
  • Articles related to use in gambling, prostitution, smuggling or other unlawful acts·      
  • Illegal drugs or other articles, the possession of which is prohibited by the laws of Malaysia
The Resort reserves the right to refuse entry to any guest found to be in possession of prohibited items. Guests shall be solely liable and responsible for all loss financial or otherwise, and damage that may be caused by such items. 
Damage to Resort Property and Facilities
Any damages to the facilities and items in the room will be charged accordingly. We reserve the right to charge guests for the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless acts or behaviour on the part of the guest(s) towards the resort’s property or structures. This can include without being limited to the scratching of wooden floors due to unnecessary moving of furniture. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit/ debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. The Management reserves the right to stop and refuse your stay without refund and to demand payment for any damages incurred. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest incur to a minimum.   
Damage to the Environment
Any guests found to be harming the natural flora or fauna by cutting, breaking, chopping, setting fire to or capturing and attempting to remove anything naturally occurring in the resort will result in a RM500 fine and blacklisting from the resort. Capturing or harming any wildlife wil result in a report to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation and potential involvement of the Police. 
Removal of Resort Property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises without consent or damaged during the guest’s stay. The charge will be the full replacement amount of the missing items, including any carriage charges. Should the fact that the item is missing come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guests’ credit / debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.. 
Tampering with Firefighting Equipment
We reserve the right to take action against any guest found to have tampered / interfered with any fire detection equipment throughout the resort premise including fire extinguishers. Guests found to have tampered with any fire detection or firefighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the resort due to their actions and may be asked to leave the resort. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, the Police may be involved at the resort’s discretion. Should the fact that firefighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserved the right to make a charge to the guests’ credit / debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.  
Inappropriate Behaviour
It is the resort’s policy that all guests have the right to be treated with dignity and respect and as a responsible host we believe that we have a duty to our guests and staff to protect them from inappropriate behaviour. Should any actions by a guest be deemed inappropriate by the Manager, or is brought to the attention of the Manager, the hotel reserves the right, after any allegations have been investigated, to take action. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, the Police may be involved at the resort’s discretion, or guests may be asked to leave the resort’s premise. 
Lost / Damaged Property
Should a guest lose any belongings during their stay or incur damage to their property, the resort will not be held liable. When lost property is reported, we will make every reasonable effort to locate the owner and return it, but if an item is not reclaimed within 3 months of the guest’s departure, it will be disposed of.   
Vehicles
All vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. All vehicles must be parked in the locations indicated assigned for guest parking. Vehicles parked in prohibited areas will be wheel clamped and a fine of RM200 will be incurred to have the clamp removed. Should a problem occur with a vehicle in the resort’s car park, the resort will not accept any liability. If a vehicle is left in the resort’s car park for more than 8 hours after the guest has departed without the written consent of the resort, the resort reserves the right to remove the vehicle at the owners’ expense. All vehicles entering or leaving are subject to security check. The car park is reserved for in-house registered guests and day trippers only. 
Child Policy
Parent/s and/or guardian/s are personally and legally responsible for the safety of their children at all times. Never leave your children unattended inside the guest rooms or anywhere on resort property. 
Room Occupancy
The total number of occupants in a room shall not exceed the maximum number of occupants permitted for the perspective room types.  Cabins : 8 personsDouble storey Cabin: 11 personsTreehouses :3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children 
Extra Person Policy
Our rooms maximum occupancy differs based on the room type. Cabins can accommodate 1 person more than there are beds in the units, meanwhile treehouses can accommodate 2 extra children aged under 12 years or 1 extra person aged 12 and above. All extra persons are charged for and include a mattress, pillow linen and breakfast. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent/booked another room for proper accommodations or vacate the resort.  
Photographs and Video's
Using photographs and video's taken in the hotel for commercial or public purposes is illegal. Those who do so will be subject to prosecution.  
Hotelier’s responsibility for guest’s property
The resort will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged guest property. It is the responsibility of the guests to take care of their own valuables.  
No Smoking Policy & Fees
Permai Rainforest Resort is a 100% non-smoking property. A MYR200 cleaning fee will be billed to your account if guest have been found to have smoked in the rooms. This also applies to E-cigarettes and vape pens.  
Safety Deposit Box
Guests are encouraged to keep their valuables in the in-room safe or in the Safety Deposit Box provided at the Front Desk. The resort shall not be liable for the loss of money or other personal valuables during your stay.  
BYO Food or Drink
All BYO food shall be charged a cover fee of MYR10 per person per meal. Drinks are charged a corkage fee as follows:
Alcoholic beverages
- 1st 12 cans: RM10/per can
- Additional cans: RM12/per can
* Wine RM100/ Per bottle
* Liiquor: RM150/per bottle

Non alcoholic
1st 12 cans: RM5 per can
Additional: RM10 per can


Pets
No pets are allowed in the resort premises at any time. Any guests found to have brought a pet into the Resort/room, a cleaning fee of MYR200 will be imposed upon the guests.  
Data Security 
Damai Rainforest Resort Sdn. Bhd. has implemented technology and systems that protect the information you provide. In those instances when you are asked to submit private information such as a credit card number, you can be assured that we have security measures in place to protect this information. This technology provides the advanced encryption tools necessary to protect information transmitted between your computer and our server. Encryption means that your information is converted into code before it is dispatched over the Internet.   
Accessibility
The Resort area Is large and set on undulating hills and uneven pathways. Please watch your footing and be alert aware of your surroundings. Guests who have mobility challenges may  require special assistance to get up the hills and into the rooms. A Disabled-friendly room is available subject to availability.    
The Jungle Pool
This pool is fed by naturally flowing stream water. There is no lifeguard at the jungle pool. Guests swim at their own risk. Guests are not permitted to use soap, shampoo or any other detergents in the pool. 
The Beach
There are no lifeguards at the beach. Guests swim at their own risk when going into the sea.The use of all rental equipment on the beach and in the sea is done so at your own risk. By renting and using the equipment, the user(s) assume the responsibility of the inherent and unknown risks involved in taking part in the activities and absolve the resort management, employees and the company  of all liability. The Resort will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to any personal property, injury, disability or fatality even death arising from whatsoever reasons while exercising or playing in the swimming/beach area.  
Littering
Dispose all waste into designated rubbish bins provided in the area or take your rubbish home and dispose of it there. Do not pollute the ground or water bodies. 
Transportation The resort provides airport transportation to and from Kuching and Kuching International Airport. Prices per transfer for a minimum of 2 persons. Advance bookings are required and it is subject to availability. Please inform the resort should there be a delay in your flight schedule as the resort transport will not wait for more than 30 minutes after which a new booking will need to be made.
Events Beyond The Resort’s Control
The resort will not accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance of its contractual obligations is prevented or affected in whole or in part, by events or occurrences beyond the control of the Property. These include, without limitation, threat of war, government action, terrorist activity, adverse weather condition, natural or industrial disaster, fire and explosions, floods, riot, civil disobedience or strife. 
Wildlife
The resort recognises its responsibility to respect the environment and is committed to preserving the natural habitat and the wildlife residing in it. Guests are advised to be cognisant of the wildlife in and around the resort area and to maintain a safe distance from wildlife at all times. Feeding of the wildlife is completely prohibited at all times as this can disrupt their natural feeding behaviour and result in unintended aggressive behaviour by some wildlife towards humans and put guests and staff at risk. 
Making Fires
Guests are not permitted to make, start or build fires anywhere in the resort without explicit permission from the resort Management. Please consult the management on this matter. Guests found to have started fires without permission may be asked to leave and or blacklisted from entering the resort in the future.
