Welcome to our unique hostel in Suomenlinna sea fortress! We are located just a 15-minute ferry ride from the center of Helsinki, with ferries running regularly from morning to night all year round.
Our hostel features 39 beds in eight rooms across two floors, two common areas, and a guest kitchen for light cooking. You can book a cozy private room for one to seven people or a bed in a dormitory. All our beds have high-quality, multi-layer, appropriately firm foam mattresses that ensure a good night's sleep. Extra beds are available upon request (10 € per bed).
We offer all our guests free Wi-Fi, a guest computer, TV and books, as well as fair-trade coffee and tea. In our showers, you will find shampoos and conditioners made in Heinävesi - Finland.
Children are welcome guests here! Our facilities include a chest of toys, outdoor play equipment and board games. There are pottys in the restrooms, and a high chair in the dining area. Baby / toddler beds are provided free of charge. Well-behaving pets are welcome in our private rooms. Unfortunately, we do not have allergy rooms. Hostel Suomenlinna is not fully accessible. Wheelchair access is possible with assistance, and accommodation is available in the larger rooms on the ground floor. We have an accessible restroom and shower, and we use mildly scented or fragrance-free cleaning products.
Reservations can be made through this channel until noon on the same day. After that, we will accept reservations by phone. We will send a confirmation message to the email address you provide. The message will contain important information (including the door code to the hostel). Please make sure to enter your email address carefully when filling out the reservation details. Don’t hesitate to ask us for help with your reservation.
You will need a debit or credit card to book a room/bed. We will automatically charge your card for the reservation 48 hours before your arrival. Cancellations are free of charge up to the automatic charge date. We provide a 10% discount on accommodation with the hostel card (HI Hostels) and the Museum Card. Mention the card in the “Discount” field of your reservation and/or inform us on-site. The discount will be credited to your total amount paid upon presentation of the card.

You can order the buffet breakfast in advance, no later than the day before. If you book the breakfast, please remember to inform us of any allergies or special dietary requirements in advance. The breakfast includes cereals, muesli, instant porridge packets, toast and rye bread with toppings, fruits and vegetables, yogurt, Nutella and jam, breakfast cookies, as well as fresh juice, coffee, and tea.
