a cozy and quiet place in the heart of Cairns Esplanade.
The Haven team spent four months
redesigning and renovating the space before opening in April 2022. The vision
was to create a chilled and welcoming environment for travelers but also for
Australians on holidays looking for some rest, recuperation and relaxation.
From a female dorm, private single to
double and king ensuites, an equipped, clean and tidy kitchen, indoor garden,
swimming pool, laundry and free air conditioning in all rooms, Cairns Espy Hostel has everything you are looking for your stay in Cairns.

The team
We are a team of travellers who wanted to
create the best place for other travellers like us, a place where they can feel
at home. We have been working hard and putting our best efforts to bring to
life this little piece of paradise, ready to welcome anyone who wants to stay
with us.
Travelling in Australia for few years, we
choses Cairns as our place to settle down and call it “Home“.
We all come from different countries but
all sharing the same vision of life! Wanting to discover the world, but also,
discovering ourselves at thousands of kilometres from home, leaving behind our
family, friends and comfort zone. While working on this beautiful project
together, it made us feel like we found family far from home and this has been
one of the most empowering feelings on this creative journey together.
This is why, we call it a home from home.
We want to offer a safe Haven for travellers who are on their journey far from
everything and need or want to feel at home for a while.

Weare a family-run business and pride ourselves on offering an enjoyable and comfortable stay for all our guests. Whether you’re staying with us whilst working, travelling, on holiday or just stopping by, we offer a friendly and welcoming vibe and a ‘home from home’ experience. To help us ensure that all our guests – including you – enjoy their time here, we ask you to respect the following guidelines.
Let’s start with the basics…
- Rent is due in advance – so have your dollar ready to secure your booking.
- Treat all staff & guests respectfully – no one likes a douchebag, so just be nice, okay?!
- Our kitchen closes at 10pm – so get your food and midnight snacks prepped and cooked before
- Clean up your dishes & surfaces after cooking – we don’t want the angry feeling to kick in for the other guests because you haven’t done your dishes! ($25 may apply if staff have to clean up your mess)
- Label your food with your name & date of check out – we like our fridges to be smelling sweet not sour, and so we do regular fridge clean outs.
- Don’t smoke inside the building – Use the smoking area next to the backyard pool.
- Don't take any drugs on the property (that includes balloons)
- Don’t drink alcohol after 10pm on the property (there’s plenty of bars nearby)
- Don’t be loud or party after 10pm (some people have to be up in the mornings)
- No visitors after 10pm, and don’t let them in your room at any time (maybe go to their place)
But the great news is…
- We have high speed free WiFi
- Entertainment room with large TV with Netflix, YouTube Keyo sport channel and of course free to air channels.
- There’s a backyard pool with tables, chairs for you to enjoy… again, just keep the area clean ($25 may apply if not)
