The Islabela Hotel in the Rosario Islands in Colombia is a sustainable and community-based tourism project that was born from an alliance between a private company and the local community. 50% of the revenue from lodging is directed towards the local community, contributing to the economic and social development of the area.
The hotel is built entirely of wood, using local materials and traditional construction techniques, making it an eco-friendly project. Guests can enjoy beautiful sea views and sunsets from the hotel's common areas.
Most of the employees at Islabela Hotel are native to the island, creating an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are designed to stay cool and there is no air conditioning, but there are fans to maintain a comfortable temperature. There are no televisions in the rooms, which helps to disconnect from daily routine and connect with nature.
Guests at Islabela Hotel can enjoy a wide variety of activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, diving, and bike rides to explore the island and its surroundings. The island is only 50 minutes by boat from Cartagena, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a quiet and relaxing getaway in the midst of nature.
1. ISLABELA INTERNAL POLICY:
*Mandatory: Please bring and show your original passport or Colombian identification or foreigner's card for check-in.
- RATES AND TAXES:
All Colombian citizens and foreigners residing in Colombia will have to pay VAT (19% tax, which is not included in the price of your room).
If you are a foreign visitor, it is important that when you register at our reception, you must present your passport and the Migration stamp (the passport must be stamped with the TP code with a validity of 90 days), which is placed upon entering to Colombia. In case of not presenting it, you will have to pay VAT 19%.
*Published daily rates are in Colombian pesos and do not include 19% VAT (as of 2021). In case of charges in another currency, the exchange rate will be defined by the hotel (according to the rate published on official pages), the day the reservation is confirmed.
- NO SMOKING:
All our rooms are NON-SMOKING. Your credit card registered in your reservation will be charged a penalty of $100 USD. those who ignore this rule (for additional cleaning).
- MINIMUM AGE:
Guests must be at least 18 years of age to reserve a room in their name. Minors are not allowed in shared rooms, unless they are 100% occupied by their relatives.
- PETS:
Pets are NOT allowed.
- ALCOHOLIC DRINKS:
Guests have to be at least 18 years old and must present valid identification to consume or purchase alcohol within our facilities.
2. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOTEL:
- FORGOTTEN AND/OR LOST OBJECTS:
Islabela is NOT responsible for the client's belongings or her guests in any of the areas or rooms. Please take care of them.
It is NOT responsible for the loss or damage of property of the client or its visitors, nor the injuries of the clients or visitors, caused in relation to the use of the beach, rooms, stairs, gardens, etc.
- ROOM KEY REPLACEMENT:
In case of loss of your key, you will have an extra charge of $50,000 COP, which will be charged to your account.
- GUEST RESPONSIBILITY:
The holder of the reservation, and leader of the family, will be considered solely responsible for the care and integrity of any member of his group / family, and emphatically on the property and on the beach.
- MINORS:
Minors must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.
3. PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS:
- MUSIC:
At ISLABELA we manage an ambient musician in our restaurant area and our beach. Speakers are not allowed.
- FOOD AND DRINKS:
The entry of food and drinks to our hotel isn't allowed, except for those previously authorized by the management of ISLABELA.
- ILLEGAL DRUGS:
The consumption or sale of illegal drugs isn't allowed on our property.
- ENTRY OF WEAPONS:
Access to weapons of any kind is not allowed and less without their corresponding permits issued by the competent authority, you may not store flammable, explosive or hallucinogenic substances nor may you carry out activities that violate the National Constitution or good customs and in general use it to the leased property that harms the material or moral credit of the building or property.
- ADDITIONAL PAX OUTSIDE OF YOUR RESERVATION:
The entry of company ladies or Scorts, as well as minors for the purpose of sexual exploitation, is prohibited. Any activity detected with child sexual exploration will be immediately notified to all competent authorities.
4. AUTHORIZATIONS:
- CREDIT CARD:
The guest authorizes the charge to his credit card registered to his reservation, the total amount for his accommodation, also of any consumption pending collection, of damages, damages or losses caused by the client or his guests during their stay.
If the client is more than one person (a group or family), they are all jointly and severally liable for the damages caused.
5. GUEST COMMITMENT:
Clients agree to have good behavior during their stay in our facilities, respecting the neighborhood, as well as taking care of the entrance of people outside the clients.
Behavior that violates the norms of the law, public health of the Republic of Colombia and the tranquility of the neighbors is prohibited. Complaints of this nature by the authorities or neighbors that are not immediately addressed by the client or any breach of the establishment's policies (this document), will lead to the immediate termination of the contract and the immediate departure of the property.
- The sexual exploitation, the pornography, and the sexual tourism of minors age is punished with deprivation of liberty, in accordance with provided in the law 679 of 2001 and the law 1336 of 2009.
- The importation, exportation and transfer of illicit property of cultural goods is restricted and punished according to the law 63 of 1986.
- The conservation and the sustainability use of the biologic diversity of wild species that are threatened in national territory is obligatory, according to the law 585 of 2002.
