The Southernmost Point Guest House in Key West, FL is located on the quite end of world-renowned Duval Street. This house, with its elaborate Queen Anne style detailing, was built in 1894 by E. H. Gato, Sr. Soon after the house was built, Gato realized the rambling Victorian home was not getting the right sun exposure on his favorite porches, so he moved the house across the street to where it sits now. He had the huge structure rolled on logs pulled by mules. He also rotated the house to create the most favorable mix of sun and shade.
Today, his decision to move the house to its current location makes for an enjoyable experience for the many guests who relish in the breeze on the shady porches. Since the home's original address - 1327 Duval Street - remains, it's the only home on its side of Duval Street with an odd number, which makes just one more reason that it's so unique.
The Santiago family purchased the home in 1987 and converted it into the charming bed and breakfast that exists today. The property has been renovated and restored to host 13 different rooms throughout 4 separate historical buildings. It is surrounded by tropical foliage with relaxing hammocks nestled in the gardens. Tall, mature palms provide privacy to the second story porches, and exotic orchids dot the property.

From our balconies, you'll enjoy ocean breezes and views of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Our Standard cancellation policy is 7 days prior to arrival. For reservations cancelled inside 7 days a one night penalty will occur.
Cancellation policies for holidays and special events may be longer.
Reservations made 21 days or longer must be cancelled at least 30 days in advance of check in date without incurring a penalty.
Extended stay reservations 21 days or more will result in a 7 day room rate charge not including tax 29 days prior to check in date. This charge is a non refundable.

~ KEEPING OUR DISTANCE. We have implemented social distancing measures in all common areas of the Southernmost Point Guest House (SMPGH).
~ ENHANCED AND MORE FREQUENT CLEANING. EPA-rated hospital-grade disinfectants will be standard protocol and used in guest rooms and all common areas.
~ PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT REQUIRED. All SMPGH staff are required to wear face masks and gloves when dealing with guests. Guests are required to wear face masks as well.
~ TRAINING AND EDUCATION. We provide regular training to our SMPGH staff about the latest safety and cleanliness guidances.
~ Proper hand washing and other safety protocol trainings will be conducted and maintained. Guests are also encouraged to adhere to regular 30-second hand washing / sanitizing guidelines.
~ Front desks will be equipped with plexiglass sneeze guards, and all staff will be required to wear personal protection equipment (PPE), including masks and gloves while dealing with guests.
~ Social distance markers will be placed in all public areas (where applicable) to encourage social distancing awareness.
~ COVID-19 policies and protocols will be provided to each guest upon check-in.
~ Should a guest or staff member be diagnosed with COVID-19, all guests and staff that were present at the same time will be notified.
~ If a guest or staff member is diagnosed while staying at SMPGH, proper isolation protocols will be followed pursuant to CDC and WHO guidelines, and guests and staff will be notified.
~ We will utilize EPA-rated hospital-grade disinfectants throughout all public areas.
~ All high-touch public area surfaces such as handrails and door handles will be frequently wiped down with EPA-rated hospital-grade disinfectants.
~ Pool furniture will be frequently cleaned using EPA-rated hospital-grade disinfectants.
