CHECK-IN POLICIES
All guests must present a valid government-issued ID at check-in. If you are from the USA then we require a valid driver’s license or state ID. If US residents choose to provide a passport instead of a driver’s license then they will be asked to provide proof of residency outside of San Diego and/or proof of ongoing travel.
No outside guest are allowed on the property at any time. Guest are not allowed into each other’s rooms, shared dorm rooms or private. If you are in a private room and have an additional guest joining you then they must check-in with the front desk (they must also present a valid ID from outside of San Diego County).
We are not allowed to host any San Diego residents.
If you anticipate arriving after midnight, please contact Front Desk as soon as possible, so we can make arrangements to accommodate your request.
We can accommodate guest luggage complimentary in a secure location until the guest bed or room is ready.
AGE RESTRICTION
We require all guests to be 18 years old or over to stay at any Dormitory room in the Hostel.
PAYMENT METHODS
A valid debit/credit card under the name of the guest, with funds in it for liability and damage, is required to make a reservation.
The debit/credit card must match the name on the reservation.
We accept most major credit cards.
Note: American Express is not accepted.
Credit card authorization forms are not accepted as a method of payment.
MAXIMUM LENGTH OF STAY
Dorm Rooms — guests can stay for a maximum of 14 consecutive nights in calendar year for all of our locations combined.
Private Rooms — guests can stay for a maximum of 21 consecutive nights in a calendar year for all of our locations combined.
SMOKE-FREE POLICY
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rooms and public areas of the Hostel, including corridors, lounge, and lobby.
PET POLICY
No pets or emotional support animals are allowed in the hostel.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
All registered guests release liability for the use of photos that they are pictured in. The Hostel randomly takes photos of our guests having a great time and uses these photos for social media and marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be featured in these photos, please, let the cameraman know.
SECURITY CAMERAS
Guests acknowledge and consent to the use of security cameras. Security cameras with video and audio recording have been installed in all of our indoor and outdoor common areas to monitor the grounds for safety and security.
LIABILITY
California Dreams Hostel does not accept responsibility whatsoever for theft from the Hostel premises or from rooms in the Hostel. The Hostel does not assume liability for any injuries occurred while staying at our property.
DAMAGES TO OR REMOVAL OF HOSTEL PROPERTY
Guests will be responsible for any damages caused to the Hostel room or any furnishings, fittings and equipment therein by any act or omission of the Guest or his/her invitees. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, California Dreams Hostel reserves the right to make a charge to the Guest's credit or debit card. Things such as puke and urine are considered damages with a minimum (but not limited to) $50 charge per incident. Misbehavior, such as sexual and verbal harassment, level of volume and aggression, fight and racial profiling towards staff and other guests is also considered part of the incidental fee.
In case any guest is required to leave the Hostel for not respecting the house's rules, the remaining of the stay is not eligible for a refund.
Rates are subject to change. Rates may increase during holidays, special events, and other high-demand dates. Rates in dorms are per person per bed.
Taxes are not included in room rates. A 10.5% (USD) Transient Occupancy Tax will be added to the cost of your reservation.
Legitimate service animals are allowed to check-in with you but must be kept on a leash at all times. They must also remain with their owner at all times. Service animals who are out of control or that are not housebroken, this includes being aggressive towards other guests or being off-leash in any instance or who are left alone in the room, will be asked to leave. If the service animal causes any damage, the handler will be charged for the damage. Staff members will not supervise or provide care for a service animal.
California Dreams Hostel is a private business and is allowed by law to refuse service to any customer or patron.
