Uncle Nicolai's Inn & Hostel B&B property is located on ten acres along the Klutina River just upstream from the confluence with the Copper River in historic Copper Center, south central Alaska. In driving time Copper Center is halfway between Anchorage and McCarthy--the major destination for most of those who plan to visit the 12 million acre Wrangell St. Elias National Park: 3 1/2 hours either way. This makes Uncle Nicolai's Inn an ideal location to overnight, especially considering that Uncle Nicolai's also offers the best value for overnight accommodations in the entire Copper Valley. Most of the rooms fall under the B&B designation where we offer a continental breakfast each morning from 8am until 9:30 am in the bar, which also serves as the office and check-in for the Inn. We have a variety of rooms, three with private baths and five with shared bath. And NOW we have just added the bunkhouse, that serves as either a hostel or a family or group room. All our rooms have access to a common kitchen. We are seasonal: Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Typically the weather here ranges from low 40s at night to high 70s at midday with very long periods of daylight. CHECK-IN: we process your reservations the night before, making up the reservation cards with the room number, location and door access code contained along with your receipt. These cards will be set in the card rack OUTSIDE the bar by 2PM of the day of your reservation so you can pick them up and access your room any time, preferably from 4PM - on. All our doors are keyless entry and use 4-digit codes, which you will find on your reservation card on the card rack.

We have no overnight accommodation taxes at this location. Within the seven days before your stay, we will charge you the full amount you have booked and then provide you with a code to access your room. This will be found on the card rack outside the bar/check-in office. At that time, consider yourself as having been checked-in. Any minors traveling with you--less than 21 years of age--must be clearly identified as such. Children age 7 and under are allowed free in some rooms where bed size allows it. Rooms with private lavatory/showers are Units A, 1, & 2. All other rooms: 3 through 8 and Unit B, are "shared bath." The common (locked) lavatory-shower rooms are in the ATCO building next to the bar. If yours is a "shared bath," your room key code will also access the locked lavatory-shower rooms. Two additional unlocked lavatories are located in the center of the property near rooms 5, 6 & 7. Rooms 1 & 2 are handicap access. Room 3 is much smaller, but is handicap accessible. Parking is assigned according to your room number. You are responsible for any damages or losses of items provided you in that room(s) that occur while you are the guest, including cleaning issues caused by the presence of pets. Additional charges will be added for damages or losses. NO SMOKING INSIDE of ANY room, please. Smoking most anywhere outdoors away from building entrances is allowed. Dogs ARE allowed in all rooms. Do not leave dogs in your parked vehicle. Animals MUST be leashed or otherwise closely supervised and controlled. Continental breakfast in the bar is from 8am until 10am from Memorial weekend until Labor Day weekend. No unaccompanied minors are allowed in the bar. Minors MUST have a parent, legal guardian or spouse of legal age in order to be present in the bar. No minors may be present in the bar after 8PM. Thank you for choosing us for your stay. Unruly guests are subject to removal. In the event that the room is unoccupied, a full refund will be issued within two weeks. In the event the room has already been occupied, no refund will be issued unless the room has been reserved for more than one day.
