HOSTEL AROUND THE BEND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Terms and conditions for the provision of services at Hostel Around the Bend LLC, of 7675 Hwy 76 E, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
DEFINITIONS‘Arrival’ means the date on which the Facilities are to be provided or shall start to be provided by the Hostel.
‘Guest’ means the person for whom the Hostel has agreed to provide the services in accordance with these terms.
‘Contract’ means the contract for the provision of the Services in accordance with these terms.
‘Hostel’ means Hostel Around the Bend LLC of 7675 Hwy 76 E, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
‘Keys’ includes any type of security tool allowing the Guest access to his bed or room(s).
‘Services’ means the provision of accommodation and/or services, associated with Hostel services, by the Hostel, for the Guest, described in writing by the Hostel in its website or other listing description.
‘Schedule’ means the Schedule of deposits and charges and payments and cancellation charges at the end of these terms.
‘Standard Charges’ means the charges shown in any current website page, brochure or other literature or signs of the Hostel
‘Terms’ means these terms and conditions.
ALL CONTRACTS
These Terms apply to all contracts of any kind made by the Hostel with its Guests and apply to all reservations, bookings and agreements for accommodation, and use of all facilities at the hostel. The contract is entered into effect upon confirmation by the hostel (written or verbal) to provide the accommodation and/or services requested by the guest.
RESERVATIONS
Your credit card will be charged for the full amount of your stay (including taxes and fees) at the time of booking a reservation, or at arrival if no previous reservation has been made. Rates vary by accommodation and are subject to change. The rate posted on the hostel’s booking website at the time the reservation is made is the rate at which the guest will be charged. All rates are subject to a 4% Georgia Sales Tax and 3% Towns County Sales Tax. Forms of payment accepted: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit and debit cards, cash, and Venmo.
Guests must be 18 years or older to make a reservation. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Guests must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (state drivers license, state issued ID, or passport) at check-in. The name on the ID must match the name on the reservation.
Please review the number of guests and number of nights before finalizing your booking. Remember to include any children in your number of guests, as the hostel can only accommodate a certain number of guests at a time.
Changing Your Reservation:
If you need to adjust the dates of your stay, please call the hostel directly as soon as possible (at least 72 hours’ notice preferred) and we will do our best to accommodate the change (including relocating the reservation to an alternative unit when necessary) but cannot guarantee availability. Rates and fees will be adjusted accordingly if applicable.
If the number of guests in your party changes, please contact the hostel as soon as possible. Your nightly rate may change based on the number of each additional guest in your party.
If you’d like to extend your stay beyond your reservation, we will do our best to accommodate you (this may include relocating you to an alternative unit if necessary), but we cannot guarantee availability. Your rate will be adjusted accordingly for the additional night(s) stayed.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT POLICY
CHECK-IN: 3:00 pm
- EARLY CHECK-IN: Guests are welcome to arrive before 3:00 pm and relax in the common areas, shower, do laundry, etc. and can check into their room or bunk as soon as it is ready.
- LATE CHECK-IN (after 8:00 pm): We offer self-check-in for private room reservations if arriving after 8:00 pm. Please contact us for self-check-in instructions. Cutoff check-in time for bunks and beds in shared accommodations is no later than 8:00 pm out of respect for other guests.
CHECK-OUT: 10:00 am
- LATE DEPARTURE: Later check-out times may be requested, and we will do our best to accommodate the change whenever possible. Depending on how busy we are and when the planned departure time is, guests who will be departing later than 10:00 am may be asked to move their belongings from their room or bunk into the common areas by 10:00 am.
- CHECK OUT PROCEDURES:
- Settle any open tabs for purchases made during stay.
- Place used towels and loaner clothes in hampers near bathrooms.
- If given a key to your room, please leave key in room. There is a $30 fee for lost keys.
SUPPLY OF THE SERVICES
The hostel will supply the services to the guest under the contract. The hostel may at any time alter the services to comply with statutory requirements (including those regarding health and safety), or out of unforeseen necessity, or in any event, provided that the standard of the Services is not diminished.
Standard charges for each reservation include the following:
Bed linens and towels
Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap)
Shared bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
Kitchen appliances (stoves, ovens, microwaves, toasters) and outside grills available for shared guest use.
Free Wi-Fi
Free on-site self-service guest laundry with detergent and loaner clothes provided.
Complimentary coffee and tea. Other food and drink items available for purchase.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please call the hostel at 706-389-9668 to speak to hostel staff directly to cancel (please do not email us). Hostel staff must verbally confirm the cancellation and may also send an email confirmation if guest's email is provided. You may cancel your reservation with at least 72 hours’ notice before 3:00 pm on your check-in day for a full refund. Cancellations received after the 72-hour window or early departures without at least 72 hours’ notice will not be refunded and you will be charged for the full length of your stay.
NO-SHOW POLICY
If you fail to check in on the day of your scheduled arrival, you will not be eligible to receive any refund and you will be charged for the full amount of your reservation.
PARKING
Due to limited parking space, please contact the hostel in advance via phone, text or email if you plan on bringing your vehicle to the hostel.
Parking is free for guests during night(s) stayed. Long-term parking is offered to guests of the hostel or Shuttles Around the Bend shuttle service for a daily fee when available – please contact us for rates and availability.
Parking Terms and Conditions: The daily parking rate is charged per vehicle. Hostel Around the Bend LLC and its agents and employees do not assume care or responsibility of your vehicle or its contents, and shall not be liable for damage, accident, fire, theft, or loss of the vehicle or any items in the vehicle. Hostel Around the Bend LLC and its agents and employees shall not be responsible or liable for any injuries that may occur while the vehicle is on the Hostel Around the Bend premises.
SHUTTLES
To/From the Appalachian Trail: Free guest shuttle to/from select local trailheads available including Dicks Creek Gap, Unicoi Gap, and Blue Ridge Gap (when road conditions permit). Pick up from the trail is upon request, but to help us save on fuel cost and to manage our time most effectively, please call or text the hostel in the morning on day of pickup or sooner with estimated pickup time for Unicoi Gap or Blue Ridge Gap. We also shuttle for a fee to/from other trailheads in Georgia and North Carolina via Shuttles Around the Bend shuttle service – contact us for rates and availability.
Town Shuttle: We offer guests one free shuttle to/from town per day stayed (schedule and location for town shuttle may vary). Shuttles at other times and to other locations may be available for a fee via Shuttles Around the Bend shuttle service – contact for rates and availability.
MAIL DROPS AND STORAGE OF PERSONAL ITEMS
Acceptance and Forwarding of Mail: We accept and store mail drops for guests at no charge, and for non-guests for a fee. It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure packages get delivered to the hostel in time. We can forward mail to another location for a fee by request and at your own risk. Mail drops will be stored at the hostel for up to 21 days (exception may be made upon request) before being returned to sender when a return address is provided. If any items are left behind after check-out, the hostel can return the items by mail upon request and at the expense of the guest. Although we handle all mail deliveries, storage, and forwarding with care, Hostel Around the Bend will not be liable for any damages or loss of packages except in cases of gross negligence or intent, and the guest assumes any and all risk.
Storage of Personal Belongings: Upon request, the hostel can store guest’s personal belongings at the guest’s own risk for pick up at a later time.
GUEST OBLIGATIONS
Be respectful of others and the property. Clean common areas after using, wash dishes used, and do not leave stove burners on unattended. Do not leave personal belongings or garbage outside or in common areas.
- Quiet time: 9:00 pm – 6:30 am.
Do not flush anything besides toilet paper.
Sub-letting the unit you have rented (or giving it to other people) is not permitted without hostel owner’s approval.
No parties, events, or overnight guests unless hostel owner gives prior approval.
No illegal activity of any kind, including the use, possession, or sale of illegal drugs or controlled substances and illegal internet downloads.
You will be financially responsible for any damages or removal of any part of the property. If you, your pet, or others in your party break or damage anything beyond normal wear and tear, or if excessive cleaning of the rental unit is required beyond what is reasonable, we reserve the right to charge you at market value for those damages or excessive cleaning. Please let the hostel know of any damages or any other issues as soon as possible.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Violation of these Terms and Conditions will result in eviction from the premises without refund.
SMOKING POLICY
No smoking or vaping inside any of the buildings on the premises or on any of the covered porches. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name. Smoking is permitted in designated smoking areas only.
PETS
Well-behaved pets are welcome to stay in select private rooms at the hostel at no additional cost as long they are notaggressive towards people or other animals or destructive of property. Our pet-friendlyunits are Private Sleeping Cabins #2 and #3. The other rental units are not pet-friendly (except for service animals). Max of 2 pets per cabin.
Pet Policy:
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when outside or in common areas. Please clean up after your pet (pet waste bags are provided).
Pets must be kept under the owner’s supervision and owner may not leave their pet unattended.
Pets must be up to date on vaccinations and be in good health.
- You will be asked to leave with your pet if your pet demonstrates aggression towards people or other animals.
Should your pet cause property or item damage, an incidental fee will be charged at market value to your payment method on file.
HOUSEKEEPING POLICY
Room refreshes will not be offered during stays. Should you need fresh towels or linens, please notify hostel staff.
GUEST SAFETY
As part of our commitment to guest safety, we will not disclose the identity, location, or presence of a guest to any unauthorized person (exceptions made for law enforcement or when health and safety are at risk).
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Hostel Around the Bend will not disclose any personal information including contact details and credit card information to any unauthorized party.
LIABILITY OF THE HOSTEL
Hostel Around the Bend LLC and its agents and employees will not be liable for any lost, forgotten, or damaged personal property.
Hostel Around the Bend LLC and its agents and employees shall not be liable for any damage or injury to guests, or any other person, or to any property, occurring on the premises, or any part thereof, or in common areas thereof. As a guest of Hostel Around the Bend LLC, you shall hereby indemnify, release, and save harmless Hostel Around the Bend LLC and Hostel Around the Bend LLC’s agents and employees from and against any and all suits, actions, claims, judgments, and expenses arising out of or relating to any loss of life, bodily or personal injury, property damage, or other demand, claim or action of any nature arising out of or related to these terms or the use of the premises.
Although we maintain a clean environment, you are assuming the risk of being exposed to viruses (including COVID-19), bacteria, or other germs during your stay. Guests and others in their party must assume all responsibility for their own health and safety and use of the hostel facilities and common areas are at your own risk.
FORCE MAJEURE
If a rare or unexpected event, such as a natural disaster (for example, a hurricane or earthquake), declaration of war, unexpected maintenance or repair, or any other “act of God” should occur that would cause one or both parties of this contract to be unable to carry out the obligations under this contract, your reservation may be cancelled, and you will be refunded in full.
SEVERABILITY AND WAIVER
If a provision of this Agreement is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid in any jurisdiction, it shall not affect (1) the enforceability or validity in that jurisdiction of any other provision of this Agreement, or (2) the enforceability or validity in other jurisdictions of that or any other provision of this Agreement.
No delay by the Hostel in exercising any right, power or provision hereunder shall operate as a waiver of the exercise of any right at a future time.
