We currently have revised conditions and policies in place during the COVID pandemic, please read the information below for a full list of our hostel policies including check in and reservation information, cancelation policy, building access, and front desk hours.

Our front desk hours are limited, we have staff on site Thursday - Sunday (11am-3pm)
Our front desk is available for remote/on-call assistance Monday - Sunday (9am-6pm)

Emergency After Hours Assistance is Available On-Site (contact by telephone number posted on hostel desk and also front door)
For any health, crime, or fire emergencies please call 911 immediately
We now provide contactless check ins: At 1pm on the date of arrival, an email (sent to email address used when making the reservation) containing keycode for building access and also a keycode to access the room safe which holds keycards and check in sheet. Deposits and payments will automatically be processed at this time.
Our building is keycode entry only, please make sure you check your email for instructions on how to enter the building and get your keycard/bed linens.
After Hours Assistance for Emergencies Only, telephone number for after hours assistance is posted on the front desk in our lobby and also on our front door
After hours assistance is available for emergencies or scheduled after hours check ins only, all adjustments or changes or payments to reservations must be made during office hours at the front desk
All guests must indicate their time of arrival (use the notes section during booking to indicate time of arrival, if you are unable to do this for any reason please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to indicate your time of arrival).
No dedicated parking -- we recommend using street parking (meters run from 6pm-12am and are free outside of those hours which ends up costing $3-$5) or one of the several parking lots within one block of our hostel ($7-$15 for overnight parking)
Free Wi-Fi. It’s fast too.
Linens provided. No purchase necessary!
Towels are only a $5 deposit!
Laundry facilities. Quarter operated machines, detergent is not supplied, we are cashless for now and not able to make change for quarters -- our laundry machine also has card payment options, instructions for car payment are printed on the machine
We now offer disposable flatware and utensils in our communal kitchen, we have our microwave and hot water kettle available but no longer offer any other kitchen appliances.
We now offer long-term rental rates, to be eligible for long-term rates guests must stay for 3 days prior to beginning long-term rates
Long-term rates are $150 per week (for eligible guests only) for one bed in a shared room
Our front door requires a code to enter the building, we change this code every day after 1pm.
Cancellation policy: 24 hours before arrival (check in begins at 3).
Check in begins at 3:00pm. Early check-in must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
Check out by 12:00pm (noon)
Deep Ellum Hostel will authorize a hold of $50 (dorm rooms) and $100 (private rooms) on the card on file during stay, this deposit will be returned after check-out
Guests must have valid, government issued photo ID and a debit or credit card with matching name in order to check in, any guest without these items will not be allowed to check in
Taxes not included - 13 percent (city and state tax)
No outside alcohol allowed in the hostel
We do not accept customers younger than 21 years of age
No outside guests allowed in hostel at this time
Private rooms have max occupancy of 2-4 guests based on room size
Quiet hours: 12:00am-8:00am (hostel only, does not apply to bar guests or live music in our bar on the first floor)
