Due to these unprecedented times, in place of your traditional morning breakfast experience in the dining room we have introduced a delicious continental breakfast hamper box for you to enjoy at your leisure in the comfort of your room. For the evening we are happy to assist in making dinner reservations at local restaurants. Alternatively if you do not wish to travel out, why not try one of our Crofter's Platters. (48 hours notice required for platters)
Staff will be on hand to provide information and advice on what to see and do during your day. Relax in the evening with a wee dram from our local drinks selection of gins, whisky's and craft ales.
Granary Guest Special tours of the Castle are available to our guests, Tuesday to Friday, including out of season (Oct to Mar). Pre-booking is required. Cost £50 per person

Cancellation by you
If you have to cancel or amend a reservation, it is in your interest to notify us immediately by telephone or email. We are happy to reschedule bookings to another date falling within 12 months of your original booking without any loss of deposit. However, in the event of an outright cancellation, costs will be incurred as follows:
- More than 7 days before your booking commences your deposit will be forfeited.
- 7 or less days before your booking commences you will be liable to pay the full cost of your booking.
- You will be liable to pay for the booking IN FULL in the event of a failure to take up the booking. We will exercise this right at our discretion.
Cancellation by us
Subject to the Events outside our control paragraph below, if for any reason the room is not available, we will attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this is not possible, or is unacceptable to you, all monies paid by you for the room concerned will be refunded in full.
Events outside our control
The Granary shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events. If your room is not available or if we are otherwise not able to provide the accommodation to you as a result of such events, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of such events. If any loss or damage is caused by such an event outside our control, we are not responsible for any liability other than refunding you the deposit and any other monies paid by you for the room concerned.

PRICING, DEPOSITS, CONFIRMATION & BALANCING PAYMENTS
The Granary Lodge offers a standard rate which includes bed &continental breakfast for a maximum of two people and prices are guaranteedonce you have been given a confirmation number. All prices are inclusive ofVAT. For the avoidance of doubt, the standard price does not include anyincidental charges which you may incur during your stay. Such charges will bepayable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay anysuch incidental charges, it is a condition of your booking with The GranaryLodge that you irrevocably authorise us to debit your credit or debit card forthe amount of any shortfall.
To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit of £50 per room per night isrequired to be paid. Deposit payments can be made by credit or debit card (viaour online booking system, by telephoning The Granary Lodge or indeed byvisiting The Granary Lodge in person). Deposits will be taken in accordancewith the terms & conditions of your booking. In the event of cancellation,payment will be taken in accordance with our cancellation terms (seeCANCELLATIONS for details).
Once your booking has been accepted and a deposit received, you shall receive abooking confirmation email from us. This will include details of your roomtype, room rate, dates of arrival / departure and also a unique bookingreference number. Please quote your booking reference number when contacting usat The Granary Lodge as this will identify your specific booking. Hard copybooking confirmations are available upon request but may attract an additionalcharge.
Balance of monies outstanding
Balancing payments are made on the day of your departure and after you havevacated the room. We accept payment of your balance by debit and credit cards(excluding American Express).We no longer accept cash for payment.
Covid-19 - What to expect during your stay
We will continue to manage the risk of transmission of Covid-19. Be safe in the knowledge that our enhancedprocedures will give you peace of mind and reassurance that your well-being andtravel experience is our top priority. Our processes and precautions will be under constant review. We will always comply with all Scottish Government and National Tourist Organisations Industry Standards.
As a condition of making a reservation guests must verify that they arefree of Covid-19 symptoms. If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19please call to postpone your stay.
Your room will be ready for you after 4 pm. If your arrival time is going to be after 8 pm, please can you let us know an estimated time of arrival. Hand sanitising stations are placed at the entrance to reception, and Guests are asked to wear facial coverings when entering the Granary building. NOTE: To be reviewed on 18th April.
On arrival please wear a facial covering and use the hand sanitiser on entry. Housekeeping
Cleaning protocols have been enhanced with extra cleaning and disinfection using a viricidal disinfectant.
Following government guidance, unfortunately luggage assistance is notcurrently available.
Continental breakfast will be served in the dining room between 8am and 9.30am. For the evening, staff are happy toassist in making dinner reservations for you at local restaurants.Alternatively, if you do not wish to travel out, why not try adelicious Crofter's Platter, Highland Cheese Platter or Seafood Platter. Platters are available from 6pm to8pm (48 hours’ notice required). Cream scones with local jams areavailable in the afternoons from 2pm to 4pm (48 hours’ notice required).Pre-booking is essential, please speak to reception.
A wonderful selection of local gins, whiskies and craft ales areavailable.
Room Check Out
Please vacate your room by 10.30 am, unless otherwise arranged. Return your key to the box at reception. We are sorry but we only accept cards for payment we no longer accept cash.
If there is a breakdown of any of the utility services at the property (i.e.,heating, electrics, broadband, etc.) we will endeavour to get the problem fixedas soon as possible and will take any appropriate steps to provide analternative source of heat/power if possible. No refunds will be provided forany loss of amenity in this respect. Rooms must be vacated and left for 1hour prior to entry for repairs.
Sorry, pets are not allowed to stay at The Granary Lodge, and are also notto be left outside in cars. Registered Guide or Assistance dogs are of coursewelcome.
Acceptance of Children
Children of all ages are welcome. Highchairs and a travel cot can be provided by prior arrangement and free of charge; however, we do ask that youprovide all your own bedding for the cot. If you are bringing an older child up to the age of 12 and you need the sofa bed available in Rooms 8 or 9, a chargeof £15 will be added to the bill to cover linen and breakfast costs. Young people aged 13 or over will be treated as an adult and require their own bed.
Smoking & Vaping
Smoking or Vaping within The Granary Lodge and exterior public areas (includingthe courtyard and patio), are strictly forbidden. If this very strict rule isignored within The Granary building itself, there is a £100 deep cleansingcharge. We do provide a smoking area for guests wishing to smoke and this can befound on the patio area behind the Drawing Room - please do use the ash traysand bins provided.
No use of any lights or illuminations that have naked flames should be used at the property (including the Gardens and Grounds).
Vehicles & Personal Property
Vehicles, accessories and contents are left at their owner’s risk. As well as cancellation and curtailment insurance, guests are recommended to take out holiday insurance to cover loss or damage to personal effects.
Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may make in relation to your stay with us, please note that these requests do not form part of your contract with The Granary Lodge.
All promotional offers are subject to availability and no cash alternatives are available.
Repairs to Rooms
Occasionally due to damage or wear and tear an item of equipment may not beworking. Repairs will be made as quickly as possible. However due to theremoteness of The Granary Lodge this can sometimes take a little longer thanyou might usually expect.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying in The Granary Lodge. You are responsible andliable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or itscontents. Any incidents must be reported when they occur. Chargesare not normally made for minor breakages, but if the damage orbreakage is significant an invoice for repair may be sent to you. Aswell as cancellation and curtailment insurance, guests are recommended to takeout holiday insurance to cover loss or damage to 3rd party property.
Removal of Persons
The Granary Lodge reserves the right to remove a person or persons from the premises due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to the property or exceeding the stated occupancy and any refund is at the discretion of the Management.
Liability will not be accepted by the Granary Lodge for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions ,unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment. Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors or any other loss which it would be unlawful to exclude.
Foreseeable loss and/or damage
We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by us. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms and conditions or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the agreement was made, both we and you knew it might happen, for example if you discussed it with us during the booking process.
Complaints which are not reported immediately, during the stay, will not be entertained after guests have left the premises. The Granary Lodge must begiven the opportunity to rectify any problem identified by customers during their stay. No correspondence will be entered into in respect ofcomplaints made on the day of departure or after the customer’s return home, when no opportunity has been provided for the owner to rectify the problem.
Each of the paragraphs of these terms and conditions operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Scotland. The courts of Scotland shall have non – exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with these terms and conditions.
