Due to these unprecedented times, in place of your traditional morning breakfast experience in the dining room we have introduced a delicious breakfast hamper box for you to enjoy at your leisure in the comfort of your room. For the evening we are happy to assist in making dinner reservations at local restaurants. Alternatively if you do not wish to travel out, why not try one of our Crofter's Platters. (24 hours notice required for platters)
Staff will be on hand to provide information and advice on what to see and do during your day. Relax in the evening with a wee dram from our local drinks selection of gins, whisky's and craft ales.
Granary Guest Special tours of the Castle are available to our guests, Wednesday to Sunday, including out of season (Oct to Mar). Pre-booking is required. Cost £50 per person

Cancellation by you
If you have to cancel or amend a reservation, it is in your interest to notify us immediately by telephone or email. We are happy to reschedule bookings to another date falling within 12 months of your original booking without any loss of deposit. However, in the event of an outright cancellation, costs will be incurred as follows:
- More than 7 days before your booking commences your deposit will be forfeited.·
- 7 or less days before your booking commences you will be liable to pay the full cost of your booking.
- You will be liable to pay for the booking IN FULL in the event of a failure to take up the booking. We will exercise this right at our discretion.
Cancellation by us
Subject to the Events outside our control paragraph below, if for any reason the room is not available, we will attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this is not possible, or is unacceptable to you,all monies paid by you for the room concerned will be refunded in full.
Events outside our control
The Granary shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, and bad weather), nor for any curtailment,cancellation or change to any accommodation or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events. If your room is not available or if we are otherwise not able to provide the accommodation to you as a result of such events, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of such events. If any loss or damage is caused by such an event outside our control, we are not responsible for any liability other than refunding you the deposit and any other monies paid by you for the room concerned.

When you confirm a booking, you are entering intoan agreement with us (which shall include these terms and conditions). PRICING, DEPOSITS, CONFIRMATION & BALANCING PAYMENTS
The Granary Lodge offers a standard rate whichincludes bed & breakfast for a maximum of two people and prices areguaranteed once you have been given a confirmation number. All prices areinclusive of VAT. For the avoidance of doubt, the standard price does notinclude any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay. Suchcharges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that youfail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your booking withThe Granary Lodge that you irrevocably authorise us to debit your credit ordebit card for the amount of any shortfall.
To secure your booking, a non-refundable depositof £50 per room per night is required to be paid. Deposit payments can be madeby credit or debit card (via our online booking system, by telephoning TheGranary Lodge or indeed by visiting The Granary Lodge in person). Deposits willbe taken in accordance with the terms & conditions of your booking. In theevent of cancellation, payment will be taken in accordance with ourcancellation terms (see CANCELLATIONS for details).
Once your booking has been accepted and a depositreceived, you shall receive a booking confirmation email from us. This willinclude details of your room type, room rate, dates of arrival / departure andalso a unique booking reference number. Please quote your booking referencenumber when contacting us at The Granary Lodge as this will identify yourspecific booking. Hard copy booking confirmations are available upon requestbut may attract an additional charge.
Balance of monies outstanding
Balancing payments are made on the day of yourdeparture and after you have vacated the room. We accept payment of yourbalance by cash, debit and credit cards (excluding American Express).
Covid-19 - What to expect during your stay
Things are a little different just now and we wantto reassure you that your well-being and protection is our utmost priority.Procedures are in place to ensure your stay is safe in the ever-changingsituation around Covid -19. All government policy changes will be monitored,and policies and procedures will be amended as required.
Hand sanitising stations are placed at theentrance to reception, and Guests are asked to wear facial coverings whenentering the Granary building. Pre-Arrival
As a condition of making a reservation guests mustverify that they are free of Covid-19 symptoms. If you are displaying anysymptoms of Covid-19 please call to postpone your stay.
Your room will be ready for you after 4 pm. If your arrival time is going to be after 8 pm, please can you let us know anestimated time of arrival. On arrival please wear a facial covering and usethe hand sanitiser on entry. We will take each guests temperature aspart of our Covid checks.
Cleaning protocols have been enhanced with extracleaning and disinfection using a virucidaldisinfectant. Room servicing will not be undertaken during aguests stay; however, staff will be available to replenish fresh towels,toiletries and amenities on request.
Following government guidance, unfortunatelyluggage assistance is not currently available.
A delicious continental breakfast hamper box hasbeen introduced for you to enjoy at your leisure in the comfort ofyour room. For the evening, staff are happy to assist in making dinnerreservations for you at local restaurants. Alternatively, if you do not wish totravel out, why not try a delicious Crofter's Platter or Highland CheesePlatter. Platters are available from 5pm to 8pm (24 hours’ noticerequired). Cream scones with local jams are available in the afternoons (24hours’ notice required). Pre-booking is essential, please speak to reception.
A wonderful selection of local gins, whiskies andcraft ales are available.
Please vacate your room by 10.30 am, unlessotherwise arranged. Return your key to the box at reception. Payment will beautomatically taken for your stay using the debit or credit card details heldon file. Your final invoice will be emailed to you.
If there is a breakdown of any of the utilityservices at the property (i.e., heating, electrics, broadband, etc.) we will endeavourto get the problem fixed as soon as possible and will take any appropriatesteps to provide an alternative source of heat/power if possible. No refundswill be provided for any loss of amenity in this respect. Rooms must bevacated and left for 1 hour prior to entry for repairs.
Sorry, pets are not allowed to stay at TheGranary Lodge, and are also not to be left outside in cars. Registered Guide orAssistance dogs are of course welcome.
Children of all ages are welcome. Highchairsand a travel cot can be provided by prior arrangement and free of charge;however, we do ask that you provide all your own bedding for the cot. If youare bringing an older child up to the age of 12 and you need the sofa bedavailable in Rooms 8 or 9, a charge of £15 will be added to the bill to coverlinen and breakfast costs. Young people aged 13 or over will be treated as anadult and require their own bed.
Smoking & Vaping
Smoking or Vaping within The Granary Lodge andexterior public areas (including the courtyard and patio), are strictlyforbidden. If this very strict rule is ignored within The Granary buildingitself, there is a £100 deep cleansing charge. We do provide a smoking area forguests wishing to smoke and this can be found on the patio area behind theDrawing Room - please do use the ash trays and bins provided.
No use of any lights or illuminations that havenaked flames should be used at the property (including the Gardens and Grounds).
Vehicles & Personal Property
Vehicles, accessories and contents are left attheir owner’s risk. As well as cancellation and curtailment insurance, guestsare recommended to take out holiday insurance to cover loss or damage topersonal effects.
Whilst every effort is made to fulfil anyparticular requests which you may make in relation to your stay with us, pleasenote that these requests do not form part of your contract with The GranaryLodge.
All promotional offers are subject to availabilityand no cash alternatives are available.
Repairs to Rooms
Occasionally due to damage or wear and tear anitem of equipment may not be working. Repairs will be made as quickly aspossible. However due to the remoteness of The Granary Lodge this can sometimestake a little longer than you might usually expect.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying in The GranaryLodge. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which youcause to the accommodation or its contents. Any incidents must bereported when they occur. Charges are not normally made forminor breakages, but if the damage or breakage is significant an invoicefor repair may be sent to you. As well as cancellation and curtailmentinsurance, guests are recommended to take out holiday insurance to cover lossor damage to 3rd party property.
Removal of Persons
The Granary Lodge reserves the right toremove a person or persons from the premises due to unreasonable behaviour,damage to the property or exceeding the stated occupancy and any refund is atthe discretion of the Management.
Liability will not be accepted by the GranaryLodge for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or anyvehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act byourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course ofemployment. Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability fordeath or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of ouremployees, agents or subcontractors or any other loss which it would beunlawful to exclude.
Foreseeable loss and/or damage
We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss anddamage caused by us. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsiblefor loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breakingthese terms and conditions or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, butwe are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss ordamage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at thetime the agreement was made, both we and you knew it might happen, for exampleif you discussed it with us during the booking process.
Complaints which are not reported immediately,during the stay, will not be entertained after guests have left the premises.The Granary Lodge must be given the opportunity to rectify any problemidentified by customers during their stay. No correspondence will beentered into in respect of complaints made on the day of departure or after thecustomer’s return home, when no opportunity has been provided for the owner torectify the problem.
Each of the paragraphs of these terms andconditions operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides thatany of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full forceand effect.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions shall be governed byand construed in accordance with the law of Scotland. The courts of Scotlandshall have non – exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim thatarises out of or in connection with these terms and conditions.
