Terms and Conditions
If arriving during regular business hours, please check in across the parking lot with a cashier at Oakland Express Fuels. Here you will collect your room keys and pay for your stay.
Our check in hours are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday and between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. WE DO NOT HAVE A 24 HOUR DESK. If you will be arriving after hours, please notify us in advance and we will make arrangements for you to access keys. Full payment will be required in advance for all late arrivals.

PAYMENT FOR RESERVATIONS
* First Night Room Charge is due at the time of booking.* Full Payment is due at Check-In.
Reservations are subject to availability and actual pricing at the time of booking. Verbal quotes are valid for 24 hours only. Any verbal quote given is an estimate only of price, which will be subject to a confirmation of booking. You agree to pay the rate for each night of your stay and any additional charges up until the time you have departed the accommodation. The accommodation may be occupied by you only for the period stated on the booking confirmation. Where a credit card is not available a $300 cash deposit will be required on check-in.
Check out time is by 10:00 am. If departing during business hours, please leave your keys across the parking lot with a cashier at Oakland Express Fuel. If you are departing before opening, please leave your key in your room on the counter next to the door for our cleaning service to find. Please note; You will be charged $65.00 for each key not turned in.
Early arrivals and late check outs are at the discretion of Management and must be requested at the time of booking. While every effort will be made to accommodate early arrivals and late departures, the only way to absolutely ensure early check-in or late check-out is to book an extra night or half day where availability permits. Half day rates are charged at 50% of the full night stay. This will extend the checkout time until 12:00 pm and allow an early check in at 10:00 am. We can accommodate early check-ins if your room is ready. If you are still in the room after 11:00 am and we have not approved a late check-out, you will be charged for an additional full day.
Payments are accepted at check in by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express at the time of check in. Booking on line, your credit card number is taken to hold the room only. Your card will not be charged until check-in or prior to a late arrival. All payments are only accepted in US dollars. Same day Check-in can be made by cash. Cash Payments will require a $300.00 damage deposit.
In the event of any charge reversal or change of authorization to a credit/debit card on file, you agree to make immediate payment in full to Oakland Express Motel in cash or alternate form of payment, in accordance with this agreement.
RESERVATION CHANGES
For reservation changes or cancellations, please contact our staff at 402-685-5942 or Email: Michelle@OaklandExpress.net You will be charged the full cost for any room not cancelled a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your stay.
NO TENANCY
You agree that regardless of your length of stay in there is no tenancy or other rights created under any Landlord and Tenant laws and there are no such laws that apply to your stay.
NO PETS allowed in rooms or on our property. A Service Animal specifically trained to assist a disabled person as outlined by ADA guidelines are welcomed on site. An Emotional Support Pet does not qualify under the current ADA guidelines as a service animal. If a Pet is seen or found in a room, a $300.00 cleaning fee will be charged to the card on file. We have 24 hour security surveillance.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We highly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel insurance at time of booking. We suggest that the policy should include, but not be limited to, the reimbursement of any monies paid in the event the travel is cancelled; loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money and medical expenses.
DAMAGES/SMOKING& DRUG POLICIES
All rooms are thoroughly inspected by our staff prior to your arrival. Following your departure, our staff will complete a thorough check of the room for any damage, theft and/or abnormal wear and tear. Guests are financially liable for any and all damages to the property, rooms, furnishings, equipment and household items that occurred during their stay, whether it is caused by the guest, pet(s), or any invitee of the guest. Please report any room problems or damages immediately to our office following your arrival. Breakages or damages to the property and all communal or external areas that are caused by any guest and/or a guest’s visitor will be charged and recouped in full from the guest’s credit card or deducted from the guest’s refundable deposit. Excess cleaning required on departure or replacement of items removed from the accommodation will be charged to the guest’s credit card. Furniture, fixtures and fittings are not to be altered or moved between rooms. All ROOMS ARE "NON-SMOKING". If anyone smokes inside the room, a $300.00 cleaning fee plus reimbursement for any damages will be charged to your credit card.This policy applies to, but not exclusively to, cigarettes, pipes,cigars, marijuana (Including Medical Cannabis), drugs, E-cigarettes,Vapor devices, etc. A designated smoking area is located outside the door at the South end of our building. Violation of this policy will result in immediate termination of your tenancy and eviction from the property. Charges for damages or returning items left behind,etc. will be charged to the credit card on file.
CHANGES BEYOND OUR CONTROL
Compensation will not apply if a significant change is made for reasons beyond our control. These include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, pandemics, fire, health risks, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or air craft type; closed or congested airports or ports, cyclones and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, act of government or public authorities or other circumstances amounting to force major and/or Acts of God.
OCCUPANCY/RULES&LAWS
Oakland Express Motel strictly follows Transient Occupancy Laws adopted by Burt County. Exceeding maximum occupancy for a motel room constitutes defrauding an innkeeper under the Nebraska Penal Code, and such fraud is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000.00 or imprisonment for up to 3 years. In addition, you may be required to vacate the premises immediately and you will NOT receive a refund.
COMMERCIAL USE
The property/room is not to be used for commercial use.
ADDITIONAL POLICIES
- A maximum of 1 car is permitted per room (unless otherwise stated). Please check with our office if you need to make arrangements for additional parking.
- No motor homes or large trailers are allowed outside of designated areas on our property. There is sufficient parking for large motor homes across the highway in the park.
- You must be at least 21 years of age to rent a room at Oakland Express Motel.
- Certain room amenities rely on technology or outside services which are subject to occasional service interruptions. Refunds will not be given in these instances. However we will make every effort to correct these problems or relocate you to another room.
- Some rooms are located in busy public environments where noise or outside activity is beyond our control. If you prefer a quiet environment, please inquire with our Reservations staff about the rooms which offer the best location for your stay. Refunds will not be given in association with noise complaints under any circumstances.
- We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles, or items left in rooms after your departure. We will make every effort to find and return your articles. These items will be returned at the guest’s expense and charged to the credit card on file.
Guests of Oakland Express Motel hereby agree/s that he/she shall not file any claim, action or lawsuit against "Oakland Express Motel", its owners, managers, representatives and employees for costs or damages arising from guest and guest's invitees' use of the property. Guest agrees to be held liable for actions of his/her guests, whether they be registered or unregistered guests, at all times, and by doing so to "hold harmless" Oakland Express Motel, its owners, managers, representatives and employees from any and all claims arising from their guest's use of the property. Guest acknowledges that we do not accept liability for any injury, damage,loss, additional expenses and disruptions due to electrical storms or other acts of God caused directly or indirectly by events, which are beyond our control and agree not to make any claim in relation there to.
The Guest hereby acknowledges that he/she is using the property for the purpose of short-term rental in "as is" condition, at his/hers own risk. The Guest hereby agrees to check in and check out at the contracted times specified on their confirmation. Guests agree to exercise caution when entering and exiting the property driveways to roadways, which can experience varying degrees of automobile & pedestrian traffic at various times of the day and night.
Guest hereby acknowledges that Oakland Express Motel, its owners, managers,representatives and employees are not responsible in any way for theft that may occur on or to your personal property during your stay. Guest agrees to indemnify and "hold harmless"Oakland Express Motel, its owners, managers, representatives and employees from any and all liability, negligence on the part of either party, for loss, damage, injury or death resulting from the use of the property, its fixtures and contents.
The Guest hereby acknowledges that they have been informed that Oakland Express Motel is NOT a child-proofed property. It is the Guest's responsibility to monitor the activities of all minor children in their care.
BREACH OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You agree that, should you or your guests breach any of the terms and conditions:
You will pay to us the total loss or damage that we suffer as a result of that breach and hereby authorize us to debit your credit card or apply your refundable deposit in payment of that loss or damage and we may evict you and your guests without notice
