The Miner's Hotel Bank Building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places! Our building was erected in 1913 as the Miner's Savings and Trust Co. after the original building located across the street, burnt in 1912. The bank was located on the ground floor while the top two stories were occupied by the Miner's Bank Block Furnished rooms. Ran by Katherine and Lawrence Graves, The Miner's Bank Block Furnished rooms acted as a hotel for miners. Both businesses occupied this location until the 1960's. For a short time in the 70's the first floor was occupied by Butte's post office!
The building was bought by Dr. Peter Sorini and his wife Stephanie in the 2000's. For a short time, the ground floor was home to a baby boutique. The Sorini's owned the building until it was purchased by the Ackerman family in 2014. The hard work of turning the old bank building into a beautiful boutique hotel began! Originally twenty-one rooms with six shared bathrooms, the hotel now has twelve unique rooms all with private bathrooms. It was truly a family affair! Ted and Cheryl had plenty of help from their children, Sister in-law, brother in-law, nieces and their 3 grandchildren. Not only did they create the hotel, but they also opened one of Montana's most unique bars, 51 Below Speakeasy!
Located in the hotel's basement which used to be National Furs fur vault. The speakeasy takes you back to the prohibition era with a true speakeasy entrance. It takes some brain power to enter! Enjoy vintage furs that have been donated to us to display. Once in, the speakeasy offers guests an amazing bar and lounge where furs used to be stored to keep their quality. Original wood floors, the old vault door and windows from 1913 are some of the highlights of the speakeasy.
In July of 2022 both businesses were purchased by Butte natives Thomas Klemp, nephew Beau Randall and close friend Chuckie Richards. With the help of hotel manager Cassidy Smith, the goal of both the hotel and speakeasy is to share the rich history of Butte while supporting other local uptown businesses and honoring our own history!

Property and Cancelation Policies :
Standard rate: cancel within 5 days of arrival to receive a refund of the deposit minus a $20 cancelation fee. Cancellations made less than 5 days before arrival will not receive a refund.
Special events: Deposits during special events are half of the total of the stay, and is due 2 months before the event, the remaining half is due 5 days before check in. Reservations cancelled during special events will not receive a refund upon cancellation.
Terms and Conditions
Prices and taxes are subject to change at any time. We reserve the right to release any reservation at any time if a guest is unfit to stay at the hotel. *Unfit is described as: disorderly, abusive, aggressive toward another guest or staff, impolite or causing danger. A $50 extra cleaning fee will be charged if hotel room is left in a disorderly state.... to be determined by management. A minimum $200 damage fee will be charged if guests create any damages in the room. A damage fee of up to $2,000 can be charged to cover damages created by guests. If damages are intentional or malicious authorities will be called and charged WILL be filed. Pets are allowed only on our first-floor standard rooms. A nonrefundable pet fee of $50 will be charged. No Cats or other animals. Dogs only. No dogs over 60lbs allowed. Registered service animals welcome. We are a smoke free property. Guests shall not smoke anywhere in the hotel or near hotel entrances. A minimum $250 smoking fee will be charged if guest do not follow smoking rules. Guests are expected to keep excessive noise to a minimum, not remove any hotel property from the premises and to not leave rooms in a disorderly state. Quiet time is from 10pm - 8am. If guests are unfit to stay in the hotel or are causing disruptions to other guests, we will ask them to vacate the premises. *Unfit is described as: extremely disorderly, abusive, aggressive toward another guest or staff, impolite or causing danger. Guests who are asked to vacate the hotel will not receive a refund. If guests refuse to vacate the hotel, law enforcement officers will be called, and files charged if necessary.
