Skamania Coves is a family owned and run business. We purchased the property in 2006 and have worked closely with the national scenic area council to ensure the protection and preservation of the habitat, forest and land.The Gorge-ous Columbia River is our passion. Our property is unique and so will be your experience with us. Skamania Coves is a launching pad for exploring all this spectacular area has to offer.
Skamania Coves has 6 vacation rental homes, a rental treehouse and many RV lodging spots. Each house has its own unique style and personality. The cabins and most of the RV spots have great views of the river and surrounding mountains as well as access to the property’s waterfront coves and picnic areas:
The Osprey Treehouse is our newest addition. Built in 2016, it was featured on the Discovery Network’s Treehouse Guys show. This elegant 400 square foot, Octagon treehouse, wraps around a rugged Douglas Fir and is perched 30 feet above the ground with a view of the river and surrounding treescape. The treehouse is equipped with a full bathroom, kitchenette, living room with a pull-out sofa and a loft with a queen size bed. The house sleeps two. There is easy access from the parking lot via a path and then a level and secure walkway. Note: due to safety restrictions, young children and pets are not allowed.
Skamania Coves largest vacation home is the Bluff House. Resting up on a bluff of its own, it has a spectacular view up the river. This home has a private master bedroom with a king size bed and a private bathroom, a second bedroom with a queen bed, a separated family room with a sleeper sofa and a full-size second bathroom. It features an open floor plan including a kitchen with full amenities, dining and living room. The Bluff House sleeps six people. Other features include a large covered patio, a hot tub, outdoor shower, barbeque, WiFi, satellite TV, washer and dryer, heated floors, wooden floors, a gas fireplace, and much more.
The Coves High House nestled at the base of the highest rock cropping on the property, is quiet and private while still providing views up and down the river. This rental has two bathrooms, two bedrooms with queen size beds, an open living room with a pull-out sofa, dining area, and a kitchen with full amenities. The High House sleeps six and is pet friendly. Other features include a large covered patio, a hot tub, outdoor shower, barbeque, WiFi, satellite TV, washer and dryer, heated floors, gas fireplace, and much more.
Skamania Coves has two homes that are attached to each other yet remain separate and private from each other: The Sternwheeler Condo and Beacon Rock Condo. Each rental has two bedrooms with queen size beds, one bathroom, an open floor plan combining living room with a sleeper sofa, dining and a kitchen with full amenities and sleeps six people. Other features include WiFi, satellite TV, washer and dryer, heated floors, gas fireplace, outdoor barbeque, and much more. With a combined covered patio, they sit back from the river but still offer a beautiful view of the water.
The house with the most charm and history is also the original house on the property. We call this wonderful home The Overlook. With its intricately inlaid wood ceiling, wooden walls, floors and cabinets, we lovingly renovated and restored it back to its warm and golden glow. The Overlook has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and another with a queen size bed, one bathroom, a large living room with a sleeper sofa, kitchen will full amenities and dining area. This house sleeps six people. Other features include WiFi, satellite TV, washer and dryer, a woodburning fireplace, an outdoor barbeque, and much more. An oversized deck with a side lawn and an outside fireplace offers the perfect space for entertaining, meditation, or just taking in the spectacular river view.
Skamania Coves’ most secluded and private accommodation is The River House. This charming bungalow style cabin is one bedroom with a king bed, one bathroom, an open floorplan combining a living room with a sleeper sofa, dining area and kitchen with full amenities. This rental sleeps four, or six with Garden Shed rental and is dog friendly. Other features include WiFi, satellite TV, heated floors, washer, dryer, a woodburning fireplace, an outdoor barbeque, firepit, and much more. Renters can choose to secure the “overflow” cabin called The Garden Shed. This small cabin has a queen bed, half bath, a small deck, and an outside shower. The Garden Shed sleeps two and is only available upon request by River House occupants. Both buildings are surrounded by a tall fence giving the feeling of having your own space and property. It sits up from the river and is the only cabin with access to its own private beachfront. The River House compound is the closest lodging to the Railroad tracks – if you are a light sleeper you might want to check with us before booking. Most people do not mind the train noise and some even come and stay because they like train viewing!
There are a number of full service RV spaces available for rent at Skamania Coves. Each space comes with full RV hookups. Currently access to laundry, restroom, and shower facility are closed due to Covid-19. Park, set up and relax in your own space then take an easy walk down to the river to play in the water, picnic, and socialize.
While staying at Skamania Coves, you will have full access to our riverfront. There are three coves that are open to our guests. The coves have accessible picnic areas, beach front, unsupervised swimming, room for yard games, firepits, even a rope swing. There is also a launching area for your kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, windsurfers, or smaller craft sailboats. Larger watercraft can launch from the Stevenson boat ramp.

Property and Cancelation Policies :
Cancellations made thirty (30) days prior to arrival date will be offered a refund on their deposit, minus a $50 cancellation fee. NO refunds are given if reservation is cancelled within the 30 days. Exception: if we can re-rent the house for thedates confirmed to you, a total refund (less the $50.00 cancellation fee) will be returned. We recommend choosing an alternative reservation date as opposed to cancelling – there is a $50 transfer fee to reassign the reservation. There are NO refunds for early departure.
Reservation and Payments:
Reservations: Upon reservation, a deposit equal to one night's stay will automatically be charged to your credit card. Thirty (30) days prior to arrival, the remaining balance will be charged to the account. Remaining balance will include: tax and lodging fees, additional nights reserved, non-refundable cleaning deposit, pet deposit when applicable, plus a refundable security deposit if three or more houses are rented. Credit card numbers are kept on file until two weeks after check-out – any loss or damage done to the houses or property could potentially be added.
OTHER CHARGES INCLUDE:
Tax: Tax charges for Hotels, Vacation Rentals and RV Parks are 9.7% in Skamania County and will be charged to reservation 30 days prior to arrival.
Cleaning Fee: A non-refundable cleaning fee will be charged to each reservation 30 days prior to arrival. Fee varies per home. An additional fee will be charged if extra cleaning is necessary.
Refundable Security Deposit: When a group rents three or more houses together, a $250.00 refundable security deposit will be charged for each house 30 days prior to arrival. If rented homes and property are deemed in decent shape, refund will be made within five days of check-out. If loss or damage is found, security deposit will be kept.
Pets: A non-refundable pet depositof $70.00 ($100 for two dogs) will be charged to your account for reservations of our pet friendly houses: Riverhouse and High House. A $250 fee will be charged for damage to furniture, scratched walls and doors, digging, and accidents (to name a few). No dogs allowed in hot tubs. Monitor barking. No leaving dogs unattended. Dogs must be always on leash (swimming in river is acceptable). Clean up after your dog and dispense in dumpster. RV pets must always be tied up.

VACATION RENTAL POLICIES
These policies were created to meet the needs of both vacationing guests and Skamania Coves’ owners. Thank you for taking the time to read, respect, and understand our policies. We take great pride in providing you with clean, comfortable, well-maintained homes, and beautifully landscaped property and RV spaces.
Family owned and privately operated, Skamania Coves offers a unique and special place to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature, wildlife, the Columbia River, and its surrounding areas. We are a self-regulated and self-check-in facility. We do not have an office, office manager, or office hours. Our Property Manager lives on-site and is available to help when needed. Liability: Your reservation is your agreement that The Resort at Skamania Coves is free and harmless from any liability for any claims, loss, damage, or expenses arising by reason of any injury, death, or property damage sustained by any person including yourself, your family, friends, or pets where such injury, death, or property damage is caused by negligent or an intentional act. Refer to the Terms & Conditions document found on our Skamania Coves' website for more information.
Age Requirement: All reservations MUST be made by guests 25 years of age or older.
Check In/Out: Check-in is 4:00pm. Check-out is 11:00am. Prior approval needed for early check-in and/or late check-out. A potential $10/hour/house may be charged. When checking out: set floor heat to 60 degrees, turn baseboard or wall heat off, load/run dishwasher, strip only sheets of beds, turn off inside and outside lights, remove and dispense trash in dumpster, close windows, lock doors.
Young Children: Please be extra diligent with your children around the railroad tracks, highway, river swimming, and the rope swing. Keep them off the rocks and out of the woods where poison oak dominates, and vegetation is vulnerable. If you have a child who still wets the bed, please come prepared with a waterproof pad. If there is an accident, please let us know so we can take extra care in cleaning and sanitizing for the next guest.

Bluff House: max 6 guests, no pets
High House: max 6, pet allowed
Beacon Rock Condo: max 6, no pets
Sternwheeler Condo: max 6, no pets
Overlook House: max 6, no pets
Treehouse: max 2, no pets, no children under the age of 12
Riverhouse: max 4, pet allowed
The Garden Shed: rented with the Riverhouse only, for an additional fee, sleeps 2
RV Park: no tents can be mounted, pets allowed on leash
Amenities: Homes are fully stocked with extra linens, bath and beach towels, kitchen cooking supplies, dishes and glassware, variety of spices and cooking oil, outside gas grill, games, books, TV, Internet, and more. Treehouse does not have a kitchen, TV, or internet.
Codes for Security Gates and Houses: Thirty (30) days prior to your arrival, an email will be sent with necessary codes for the houses and security gates (when applicable). These numbers are NOT to be shared with anyone outside of your group.
Starlink Internet: Internet access is available for all houses and RV Park, except the Treehouse. Password will be shared in final reservation email.
Smoking: NO Smoking allowed in any of our houses or the surrounding property. Exception is within rented RV Space. Violation of this will result in a $250 fine.
Repairs and Damages: Please inform us immediately, email info@skamaniacoves.com or call (509)427-4900, if an item is damaged, an appliance malfunctions, if you notice something wrong outside the home or along our property. We will do our best to respond, repair or replace items in a timely manner. There may be a replacement charge for damages occurred.
Train Tracks: Use EXTREME caution when crossing the railroad tracks. Always have pets on leashes and hold children’s hand when crossing. Do NOT play on or around the tracks. Do NOT attempt to climb through train cars if train is stopped on tracks! Guests will be asked to leave the property immediately, with no refund, if respect for these restrictions are not followed.
River: Access to the River and the three Coves is a short walk down the driveway and across the railroad (use caution when crossing). There is no lifeguard, swim at your own risk. Be respectful of other guests, no loud music, partying, unsupervised children, or pets. Please care for the land, pick up all trash. Do not climb the cliffs, there is poison oak, sensitive vegetation, and fragile rock formations.
Fires: Due to the extreme risk of wildfires, open flame fires (wood or propane) can only be used with permission. Fires are never allowed during summer months. Gas BBQs are alright.
Overflow Parking: Two cars per house are allowed. One car for each RV space. Additional cars must use our overflow parking area found at the entrance to the property along the fence line.
Noise Control: Quiet hours are between 9:00 pm through to 8:00 am. No generators. No loud music.
Weddings/Events/Parties: Skamania Coves is not an event venue. Weddings, receptions, events, reunions, retreats, or parties inviting large quantity of non-registered guests are prohibited.
Final Note: We reserve the right to refuse the business of any guest, and may ask for immediate removal of said guest, if Vacation Rental Policies are not abided by.
