The charm of yesteryear has come to life in this graciously restored inn. The elegant brick building was built in the 1860s by the people of the community. It was originally used as a school and convent by the Sisters of Notre Dame. Located just 300 meters from mile 0 of the Confederation Trail makes the Inn perfectly suited to accommodate cyclists and hikers. 

Beautiful old trim, wide staircases, and high ceilings greet guests upon arrival. The 16 spacious bedrooms overlook the garden and surrounding areas. This 4 Star Inn is conveniently located near restaurants, shops, banking, and other points of interest including museum and Catholic church with its famous Louis Mitchell Pipe Organ. Terms and Conditions

Check-in: between 3pm and 8pm. Guaranteed early check-in by prior arrangement.Late check-in only by prearrangement and may be charged $50.00 plus 15% tax.  No check ins after 10pm.   

Check-out: anytime up to 11am local time. Later checkouts may be requested, however, will depend on availability.Check-outs after 12pm may be charged $25.00. Checkouts after 3pm may be charged one full night stay.   


Cancellation Policy: Life happens. We get that. Reservations are fully cancellable up to 48 hours prior to check-in. Reservations cancelled less than 48 hrs prior to arrival will be charged 1 night stay. No shows are charged the full amount of the reservation. This includes food add-ons. Securing your reservation with a credit card means you accept our Cancellation Policy.  

Breakfast: We are pleased to welcome West Isle Cuisine Restaurant to the Tignish Heritage Inn!  It is conveniently located inside the Inn and will be open to purchase Breakfast starting from 7am. Lunch and Dinner hours will be updated soon.

Smoking Policy: Breathe easy. Tignish Heritage Inn  is a non-smoking property. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name. This also includes cannabis in any form. Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents in rooms will result in a minimum $75.00 room cleaning fee. 

Extending your stay: After you have booked your stay with us, you can extend your stay (depending on availability) by simply letting us know before you arrive. If you are already staying with us and you would like to stay longer, please let us know at least 24 hours before your check- out date. We will do our best to accommodate your new plans and this can include relocating you to a similar room should this be necessary. 

Children: Children 10 & under stay free!  $10 Cot fee if required. 


Pet Policy: While we are a pet free facility, we do welcome service animals.  


Room Cleaning: Room refreshes will be done daily during your stay. If you would prefer not to be disturbed, should you need fresh towels or linen, please inform the front desk. Please note for stays longer than 3 nights, room will be refreshed and linen changed on the 3rd morning.  

Bicycles: Bicycles may be secured in our locked garage. Guest rooms on the ground floor may accommodate 1 or 2 bicycles. E-Bikes are welcome.Bicycles may be rented from local businesses as well.  


Fire Pit: We have a fire pit available for your use in the back yard. Must be booked with front desk. Use at your own risk. 


Bar-b-que: There is a Bar-b-que available for guest use. Please clean up after use. 


Gardens: Our prize-winning gardens are for you to stroll, picnic in, sit and relax, and reflect. They are open for public use. 


Laundry: Facilities are available to guests upon request. 


Shuttle Services are available by advance booking for a fee.
