This unique boutique motel has gone through as many changes as the ghost town itself. Years ago, it used to hail to bikers, bar brawlers, and gypsies passing through, looking for fun and leaving a wake of trouble in their path. Now, they've moved on to other more remote areas and the ghost town is full of nature-seeking groups, family vacations, hikers, adventurers, geographers, scientists, retired veterans, and people trying to find the antithesis of city.
We're located at the entrance to the Terlingua ghost town and ON-THE-GRID (which is only available within a certain radius of the ghost town). That means we pay top dollar to offer you and yours running water that is purified through the ghost town's reverse osmosis system & electricity that comes from 300 miles away. Furthermore, we have the absolute best views of the iconic Chisos Mountain Range from the Restaurant on site. The High Sierra Bar and Grill serves food from Noon-10pm, vegan and vegetarian options available as well as the ghost town's widest variety of micro beers, Mexican beers and domestic flavors from all over Texas. We are the only bar in town that serves Agave Wine and we make the best ranch waters and margaritas with it with live music every weekend!
The Hotel itself is built with adobe, brick by brick by the owner and one of the west's last authentic bounty hunters, Herman Everett (featured on a few Italian produced movies as well as the TV series Badlands and Gas Monkey Garage. The Hotel and Bar are reminiscent of a Clint Eastwood movie and the colourful locals and unending vistas are unforgettable.

Important Area Wide Disclaimer NOTE **** Wifi and Satellite TV connections do not always function as we would like for them to so we do not guarantee those services nor give refunds if they don't work. Our area's internet is about 10 years behind, technologically, so when there are many new high-tech devices attempting to stream on a 10 year old internet system, it simply doesn't work correctly. Also, prepare for your cell phones to not function properly, because this area is far away from modern amenities and it is extremely expensive to get anything out here like electricity, water, cell service, fuel, and even food. There are no pharmacies or fast-food restaurants here. Good employees are on short supply as there is no housing available with the rise of Airbnb's, so here in the Ghost town we operate with a real skeleton crew. With all this in mind, please allow for slightly delayed but dedicated service. We want your business!

Check-In/ Check-Out
Check-In is at 3 PM. Check-Out is at 11 AM. If you desire an early check-in or a late check-out, please make this request through the office as it is based upon availability. If customer has not vacated their room by 11 AM on their check-out day, one additional night will be charged in full to credit card on file.
SMOKING
NO SMOKING in any room at any time. A one time fee of $400 will be charged to your credit card on file if this smoking policy was violated.
PETS
Pets are only permitted in certain rooms. Not all rooms on property are pet friendly. You must register and pay a standard $50 per pet, non-refundable, pet fee before entering room. You must also have a credit card on file in case of any damages that may occur. There will be a charge of $100 per night, per pet, for Undeclared Pets, and guest will have their reservation terminated on the spot with no refund or chance of rain-check.
