Check-in / Check-out
Check-in begins at 3:00pm and check-out is by 10:00am. Early arrival and late departure are available by request and subject to availability and an additional fee. Primary guests must be at least 21 years of age and provide a credit card upon arrival. Cash is accepted, but a credit card on file for incidentals is still required.
Communication
As a small business in a small town, we do things a little different than big hotel chains. For the sake of convenience and efficiency, our front desk is NOT staffed 24/7 and we instead offer a simple self check-in experience that allows you to go straight to your room upon arrival. On the day you check-in, you will receive a welcome text from our team that includes a unique 4-digit code to access your room via keypad lock along with additional property information. Have a question or need something during your stay? Call or text us at 719-631-3400. It's a real human behind the phone! Even when we're not at the front desk, we're always nearby and available between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm daily.
NO Smoking
We are a 100% smoke-free property, and take this rule very seriously. Thank you in advance for not smoking in our guest rooms, in the courtyard, nor on our patios (this includes tobacco, cannabis, and vaping). A minimum $250 fee will be applied to the credit card on file if any signs of smoking are detected in the room or if a guest is seen smoking on property.
Pets
We charge $25 per dog, per week of stay, and only allow two dogs per room. Though we love cats too, unfortunately we cannot accommodate them due to allergy concerns. Please remember to clean up after your pet. Guests are responsible for all damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet during your stay, and we kindly ask that pets are not left unattended in guest rooms and remain on a leash while on property.
Parking
Complimentary guest parking is available in any angled spot in the courtyard or in front of our building on French Street. Our driveway is one-way, so please don't enter from French or block access from either direction. Parking for oversized vehicles and/or trailers is available against the chain link fence across from our building on French Street.
Property Amenities
Our front desk is located inside Rodeo Mercantile: our rowdy little roadside shop, offering a unique selection of lifestyle products, original art, bespoke goods, small batch provisions, wine, beer, and spirits, and more.
Arriving after hours or looking for a quick snack during your stay? Be sure to check out The Canteen: an unattended vending room and pantry open 24/7 to guests where you can shop on the honor code and charge items directly to your room. Our food and N/A beverage selection is carefully curated to provide health conscious, eco-minded, allergy aware, and vegan options.
The Canteen provides guests with 'round the clock communal access to an ice machine, water refill station, microwave, and utility sink.
The Moon Bar & Lounge is continuing renovations, but the Lounge is open to guests beginning in May 2024. A code for entry is provided at check-in, with complimentary coffee provided daily and guests welcome to use the space during your stay to work, gather, or hang with friends and fellow travelers. We will also host several pop-up events with food & drink specials and live music in this space throughout the Summer! Once renovations are complete (expected Fall 2024), the Moon Bar & Lounge will open daily to guests and to the public as a neighborhood cafe serving heirloom, single origin coffee and espresso alongside a rotating selection of beer, wine, and cocktails, and seasonal grab-and-go and made-to-order menu items.
Mellow Moon guests get complimentary access to select Rio Grande Country Club & Resort amenities, including a swimming pool (open Memorial Day through Labor Day), a hot tub, tennis courts, and a fitness facility, and the option to dine at The Timbers Restaurant and Big River Grille. Member Guest rates apply for Golf and Fishing on club grounds, with advance reservations required to book a tee time or to experience the 3-miles of private Gold Medal fishing waters. The RGC is located 20 minutes from the Mellow Moon by car; please reach out in advance of your stay to request a pass or arrange reservations!
Technology
Guest WiFi is complimentary and is fully accessible throughout the property. All guest rooms have WiFi enabled TVs, and in place of traditional cable or satellite we offer access only to streaming services. Guests are able to login to your preferred streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, Discovery+, etc.) to access on-demand entertainment.
Room Charges and Damages
When you book, you agree to our Terms & Conditions and our system keeps your card on file to cover any incidentals. Missing items, damage to furniture, linens and other property will be assessed and then billed to the guest at our replacement cost, which may include labor costs. Excessively soiled linens, carpets, and furniture will be included as damages, as will any damages suffered as a result of pets on property.
