The Saddle Room Restaurant is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and is situated on the family owned Tupgill Park estate next door to The Forbidden Corner, a popular garden folly attraction that is renowned nationwide and recently won Large tourist attraction of the year.
Please note due to extra cleaning measures we have changed our checkin time to 3pm but will always endevour to get your accommodation ready earlier. Special requests and specifically bed and breakfast room requests we cant guarentee and prioritize people with medical needs as a priority.
We do have rooms that are wheelchair accessible but have not been certified as they do not have hand grab rails or lower sinks for instance or wider doorways. Purely based upon other guests comments we have found Dante room is a double B+B room and is situated close to the restaurant. Another alternative is Swaledale cottage and is a ground floor cottage near to the Restaurant and has 1 x twin room en-suite and a king room en-suite with a large lounge and a step into the entrance . Our Restaurant & Bar is wheelchair friendly and we have a Lift to the first floor where we generally serve breakfast. Unfortunately, our outdoor cobbled courtyard area is not. Our wedding venue "The Bell Barn" has good access and has a separate WC that is wheelchair friendly. Please note we are here to help and may need to know further information on the disability so as to recommend the best dining or accommodation experience.

Pricingand Payment: Allprices quoted are per cottage per stay or per room per night. Weaccept payment by credit / debit card unfortunately we don't accept AmericanExpress.
We reserve the right to not accept your booking or amend your booking. Your booking is accepted once a deposit payment is taken and not at the point of booking. A deposit payment of £50 per room/ cottage per night is payable upon booking & will be taken off the card provided.
Arrivaland Departure: Checkin is available from 3pm until 10pm (Sunday’s 6pm) on the day of arrival please go to The Saddle Room Restaurant to collect your keys for your room. Self Catering Cottages will be emailed details the day before arrival regarding key collection. If arriving outside ofthese times, please telephone so we know you are running late on 01969 640 596. Departure time is 10 am for cottages and 10.30 for bed and breakfast rooms please speak with a member of staff on arrival if you require a slightly later checkout time we will endeavour to assist where we can at a slight charge. Any late departures will automatically be charged a £25 fee on the card provided when booking.
Pets/ Allergies
PLEASENOTE:- There is now a £10 charge for dogs staying per night or £50 for a full week or more. Nidderdale and West House are strictly no pets however Coverdale,Swaledale, Littondale, Wharfedale will allow one well behaved pet. All the bedand breakfast rooms are pet friendly apart from ALL upstairs rooms withcarpets. Pleasekeep all dogs on a lead in the Tupgill Park area especially mornings whiletrainers and exercising horses Failureto notify us of a dog staying will result in a automatic charge of £10 per dogper night.
Travel Cot Policy: Here at The Saddle Room, we are happy to provide you with atravel cot if you require one, we will provide the travel cot and bedding.However, we do not accept any liability, as the guardian of the child will beheld accountable for checking the standard of the travel cot and accessoriesthere before use.
Smoking: Forthe comfort of our guests, ALL cottages and rooms are totally non-smoking.
Privacy: Theonly information that we collect off you is necessary for the processing/verifying of your booking or occasional notification of future offers where youhave specifically indicated your agreement to this. We will not give, sell orswap your details with any third-party companies. Werespectfully ask if possible that noise levels are kept to a minimum especiallyafter 10pm and before 8am for the comfort of other guests.
FreeTicket to The Forbidden Corner:- Freetickets are only available for 2 nights or more. Tickets are unavailable for 1night stays. Freetickets are not available for Bed & Breakfast Suite stays. Freetickets can be redeemed only during normal forbidden corner opening hours andare not transferable or can be exchanged for money. OpeningTimes: every day April – October then Sundays until Christmas. Monday –Saturday 12 noon – 6 pm (or dusk if earlier). Sundays and Bank Holidays 10 am –6 pm (or dusk if earlier). Unfortunately, no dogs are permitted in the gardenexcept guide dogs.
Damage:- Carsare parked at your own risk, and we don’t accept responsibility for any damagethat may be caused whilst parked on the property. You may be asked to move yourcar due to access reasons. Pleasecheck the property for any damage and notify the Saddle Room Restaurant within1 hour of arrival. Any property contents damage or loss that is not deemed fairwear and tear, WILL be charged to yourself Automatically. For example and not acomplete list, Dirty Floors, Washing Up Left, Stains, Damage to Furniture,Kitchen equipment left unacceptable, Dog Mess or a high quantity of hairs,Stained damaged Bedding, Bodily fluids.. Bedsare provided with a high standard of mattress and linen complementary for yourstay. Any damage to the mattress through "bed-wetting" must be notifiedimmediately or on departure. Damage will be charged at the cost of a newmattress. Carsare left at the owners risk and the Saddle Room accepts no responsibility fordamage that may be caused.

It is the responsibility of the Guest staying to book meals in advance apartfrom people staying in Bed and Breakfast rooms where we will book BreakfastONLY. We accept no responsibility at all for booking guests for dinner, OurRestaurant does get full and once we are booked, we are fully booked and cannottake anymore bookings. We are in the Heart of the Yorkshire Dales and there aremany great and grand shops locally for groceries if you are staying self-catering.

The government has made this available for the Hospitality sector and has notissued direct guidance on how this is used. Please see the statement below… Saddle Room Statement ref VAT. The VAT reductionannounced by the Chancellor to 5% was issued to help the Hospitality Businessrecover and was not mandatory that this be passed onto the customers. As abusiness we see this VAT reduction as a way to claw back some of the lostrevenue and also help with the extra investment we have put into the Businessthrough development i.e West House. in addition, it will support our wagebill as we have not had to lay any staff off for example our BanquetingChef. We have lost more than £600,000 this year due to Covid so thisfinancial assistance is welcomed to keep us going and get through2020. NOTE :- The VAT cut does NOT apply to alcohol and as a business wehave absorbed supplier price increases this year and not passed these onto thecustomer as well as the extra investment as a business in PPE.
