The Smiling Gecko Guesthouse is located on the project‘s farming premises. You will stay in one of our 34 rooms in 5 simple stilt Khmer Houses and 12 spacious stilt bungalows built in the traditional local style. Our double rooms come with a double bed and mosquito net as well as a rain shower, toilet and fan. An extra bed is available upon request. All our timber-built bungalows have their own terrace from where you can enjoy a view of the countryside. The stilt houses combine the charm of traditional Cambodian architecture with modern sanitary facilities.

SGC Farmhouse Guest Code of Conduct
Safety and security is everyone’s responsibility. Should anyone become aware of someone being injured or of any unsafe or possibly illegal behaviour, they should immediately report it to the Farmhouse manager or management team of SGC. Immediate reporting of these issues will help enable the involved parties to efficiently respond to the situation.
II. Guest and Employee Interaction
Our employees, trainees and families living in our farm are friendly, outgoing and helpful. They will do their very best to make your stay with us as memorable as possible. Please do not misinterpret their friendliness. Employees are prohibited to physically engage with guests. They not permitted to socialize with guests beyond their professional duties and also not permitted to be in the guest rooms; except for the performance of their duties. Guests are expected to respect these policies who are similarly also prohibited from engaging in physical relationships with any employees. Guests are not permitted in any staff area of our Farmhouse. Only registered guests are permitted in the SGC Farmhouse, other than for brief visits in common areas. No overnight visitors are permitted.
III. Inappropriate or Abusive Behaviour
Inappropriate or abusive behaviour, including uninvited physical contact, solicitation, harassment, vandalism, theft, violence, use of fake/false identification, possession of illegal substances/items, or any other illegal or offensive conduct is not permitted. During the quiet hours from 11 pm to 7 am, guests shall be particularly considerate and refrain from any conduct that could disturb others within the vicinity.
IV. Unsafe Behaviour
Sitting, standing, lying or climbing on, over or across any exterior or interior railings or other protective barriers, tampering with farmhouse equipment, facilities or systems designed for guest safety is not permitted. Guests may not enter or access areas that are restricted.
V. Discourteous or Disruptive Behaviour
No topless bathing and nudity is permitted at any time within the SGC Farmhouse and properties.
VI. Smoking Policy
For the comfort of our guests, SGC Farmhouse keep most of their indoor areas as non-smoking areas; however we recognise that some of our guest smoke. Therefore, to provide an environment that also satisfies smokers we have designated certain areas of our Farmhouse as smoking areas. The designated smoking areas are clearly marked with visible signage and ashtrays.
VII. Alcohol Policy
SGC Farmhouse are expected to be responsible for their actions at all times. Consuming alcohol in excess impairs one’s judgment reduces one’s ability to recognise and prone to dangerous situations. Guests who chose to consume alcohol must do so responsibly and at their own risk. Guest ma be refused to be served alcoholic beverages by any staff member of the SGC Farmhouse if the guest is not drinking responsibility.
VIII. Prohibited Items
No illegal drugs or other illegal substances are allowed in SGC Farmhouse properties. In addition SGC Farmhouse has strict laws that addresses drug possession. Guests found in violation of such laws are subject to arrest and prosecution by the local law enforcement authorities and may be immediately removed from the SGC Farmhouse. No weapon, explosive or other item that presents a risk of harm to persons or property is allowed at SGC Farmhouse properties.
IX. Health
Guests are strongly encouraged to wash their hands with soap and water after using the restroom and before eating or handling food. Medical experts say this is one of the best ways to prevent illnesses.
X. Lost and Found
The SGC Farmhouse is not responsible in the event of theft, loss or damage. Lost and Found items will be kept by the SGC Farmhouse for 3 months. They can be retrieved at the SGC Farmhouse reception only. Perishable items will be disposed of immediately.
XI. Consequences
Failure to act in accordance with this policy may result in: ·
- Intervention by Security, other management personnel, or law enforcement, ·
- Removal of certain privileges, which may include being detained, quarantined or confined in a room, ·
- Maybe turned over to law enforcement authorities for possession of illegal, contraband, or prohibited items, ·
- Denial of staying in the SGC Farmhouse on the current or any future SGC Farmhouse stay, ·
- Reporting of incidents to government and law enforcement authorities for follow-on legal action,
- Removal from the SGC Farmhouse.
Guests removed from SGC Farmhouse property pursuant to this policy, are responsible for their own accommodations and transportation, at their expense.
Such removal from the SGC Farmhouse shall not constitute grounds for are fund of amounts already paid to the SGC Farmhouse or reduction of any amount sowed to the SGC Farmhouse.
Establishing and articulating a Guest Code of Conduct Policy helps ensure that all guests are able to enjoy a fantastic, safe and secured staying.
