Since 1937, Historic Wigwam Village No. 2 in Cave City, Kentucky has offered travelers a rare piece of Americana. Whether you've come for hiking and a cave adventure, or you are just passing through, Historic Wigwam Village No, 2 is the perfect place to rekindle your joy for family time, car trips and earlier, slower times. Historic Wigwam Village No. 2 is one of only three surviving Wigwam Villages in the United States, enduring as a testament to a time past — but with modern conveniences.

Every room at Historic Wigwam Village No. 2 comes with heat and air conditioning, a ceiling fan, cable TV, high-speed wireless internet, a coffee maker, luggage rack, and yes, a bathroom! Historic Wigwam Village No. 2 offers two room types: singles with one full-size bed that sleep a maximum of two adults or perhaps two adults and an infant and doubles with two full-size beds for a maximum of four adults or two adults and possibly three small children. The wigwams feature the original beds and dressing tables created by the Columbus Hickory Furniture Co. almost a century ago, and our graphic tile in the bathrooms is all original.

Outdoor amenities include comfortable,Amish-made wooden lawn chairs, picnic tables with lights and electricity, charcoal grills, an outdoor dining room, an ice machine and our signature attraction - our large lawn with throw-back playground equipment and stone fire pits.

Your stay at Historic Wigwam Village No. 2 is helping to preserve a piece of American history. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 and now is is undergoing a multi-year, million dollar restoration, sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Interior, to return every architectural and landscape feature to its original condition. Guests are encouraged to observe the restorations and ask questions about this historic American roadside attraction. Rest easy! Restoration activities will not disrupt your stay.

Now that you know all about Historic Wigwam Village No. 2, here are some FAQ that can help you plan your stay:

Are there bathrooms in the teepees?
Yes! Think of the wigwams as little cabin in a cone-shaped body.

Is there heat and air conditioning?
Yes! Every guest room has a heater and an air conditioner.

Do you allow pets?
Yes! Pets are allowed up to a total weight of 75 pounds. We will collect a small pet fee based on the size of your pet. $10/15/20 for S/M/L. We collect it at check-in.

What time is check-in?
Our office is open for check-ins from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Central time. Please let us know if you need us to stay open late for you.

What time is check-out?
11 a.m. You can lock the key in your room and get moving on your next adventure.

What is your cancellation policy?
Reservations are recommended but not required. All reservations are subject to cancellation fees equal to $35 PER BED, PER NIGHT for all accommodations in your reservation. That means for a single teepee, the cancellation fee is $35/room/night, and for a double teepee, the cancellation fee is $70/room/night. Cancellations and modifications are allowed until 3 PM (Central Time Zone) THREE DAYS BEFORE your reserved stay date. After this time, three things happen: Any balance due will be charged to your card on file; All sales become final; and No refunds will be given. Additionally, reservations made 0-3 days prior to staying are nonrefundable. Please consider trip insurance or walk in service if you desire more flexibility than our reservation terms allow. If you don't show up, you will be charged the first two nights' stay.

What if I change my mind or there is a mistake in my reservation?
Check your confirmation email! We provide a 24-hour grace period for any reservation made on a date 3 days or greater in advance of the stay date. We provide a 1-hour grace period for reservations made 0-3 days in advance of the stay date. During the grace period, cancellation fees may be forgiven upon request.

Can I change my reservation later?
Call or text us at 1-833-WIGWAMS to request changes to your reservation. We will need to confirm eligibility, availability and rates for any requested changes.

If I cannot make it, can you apply my payments to a future stay?
You have until 3pm three days before reserved arrival date to modify your reservation. After that time, rooms are due in full and are non-refundable. 

Can we rent the entire village? 
Yes!  We can hold rooms for 48 hours so your party members can contact us with payment and contact information. Please email Megan at reservations @ historicwigwamvillage.com to get started.

What's the most number of teepees I can rent?
One individual may rent up to 4 teepees for up to 6 nights.

Is the gift shop open?

Sadly, the gift shop was allowed to fall into too much disrepair to be open to the public. It is the first building slated for repairs in our preservation plan, and it will be a coffee shop in its next life! You can buy Wigwam gifts online at historicwigwamvillage.com/shop. .

Unique Motel, Unique Policies

Occupancy Strictly Enforced

Room occupancy is limited to two guests in a single room and four guests in a double room. Families, it is OK to add one child age 5 years and younger to a single or double room. If you show up at check-in with more than the allowed occupants, and if an arrangement to accommodate the additional guests cannot be made, then you may be denied service. You will not be refunded if you are denied service for exceeding our room occupancy policy.

We strictly enforce our occupancy policy because we want you to have the best experience and because the rooms are small and we want to protect our antique furniture. All of the beds are original from 1937. They are full-size beds, smaller than queen-size. Beds must not be moved. Air mattresses and cots are not allowed. Please ask for assistance if you have any issues or concerns about furnishings.

Pets

You may bring pets and animal companions, but within reason. You are limited to a total weight for all pets together of 75 pounds. The fee is $10/$15/$20 per pet per night based on weight. You are responsible for cleaning up after your animal indoors and out. Do not allow your pet to poop or pee inside the grassy bowl where families play; instead, walk them on the grass behind the teepees. You may be charged a fee for excessive cleaning if the room requires additional cleaning due to your pet (see below).

Furniture

Please help us protect and preserve our historic furniture and rooms. Do not move our furniture. Do not use our bedroom furniture outdoors. Do not dye your hair on our premises. Do not apply any outside cleaning solutions. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned before your arrival using nontoxic and non-damaging solutions. If you have problems or concerns about your room furnishings, notify us so our staff can address the issue for you. 

Smoking, Vaping, 420

Enjoy your smoke outside. You'll be charged $250 to clear tobacco or vape juice odors and $420 to clear cannabis odors in your teepee. There are ash pots outside for your butts.

Cooking

No cooking is allowed in the teepees. We have charcoal grills and a covered picnic pavilion for you to use. You may bring your own standalone grills. We do not have microwaves or refrigerators. We recommend you plan to cook just like you would on a camping trip.

Excessive Cleaning Fee

Please use the two trash cans with garbage bags in your room. If you fill the bags, ask for more. Also, there are several trash cans on the property. We will charge a cleaning fee for any room with an excessive amount of garbage that is not disposed of properly; for stains, animal and human waste and dangerous materials; and for anything left in the room that risks our housekeepers’ health or safety. The excessive cleaning fee is $50/hour with a minimum charge of $50.

Damages

We charge the cost of replacement for room damage and missing items.

Final Payment and Cancellation

You have until 3 p.m. three days before check-in to cancel or modify your reservation. After that time, we charge the final payment to the credit card on file. This is the moment when all sales are final - no refunds. If you cancel by 3 p.m. three days before check-in, we will issue a stay credit you can use for a future stay or in our gift shop.

Grace Period

We provide a 24-hour grace period for any reservation made on a date 3 days or greater in advance of the stay date. We provide a 1-hour grace period for reservations made 0-3 days in advance of the stay date. During the grace period, your payment may be refunded in full on request.

Invalid Credit Card and Gift Cards

We will charge you credit card or gift card on file for any balance due when you make a reservation and at 3 pm (Central Time Zone), three days before your reserved arrival date. If your card is invalid, we will contact you to get an updated payment method. We will cancel reservations that have balances unpaid 24 hours after reservation and at 3 pm, two days prior to check-in. Call us to update your credit card. Check-in, Check-out, Late Arrivals

Our office is open for check-ins from 3 to 7 p.m. Sorry! No early check-ins. When you arrive, drive to the left of the big teepee and follow the signs for the office, leading you to the green house, where we live. We will invite you to sit on the patio to learn a little history about Wigwam Village No. 2, plus get tips for where to eat and what to do in the Caveland area.

Check-out by 11 a.m.

To check out, simply leave your key in your room, close the door and wave goodbye as you drive away.

No Shows

If you have not checked-in, self checked-in, or canceled your room by midnight of your stay, your reservation will be deemed a no show. Guests who bring too many people for the room(s) they reserved and choose not to stay will be deemed a no show. No refunds will be issued for no shows. No shows will be charged the first two nights' stay.


The Wigwam Village Experience

You are about to step back in time, to the dawn of the American Road Trip. Wigwam Village No. 2 was built in Cave City, Kentucky, in 1937. By 1950, seven Wigwam Villages were built across the country. Notable for its unique and whimsical architecture, Wigwam Village No. 2 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. By this point in history, only three of the original seven remained. They all still stand today, individually owned and operated in Kentucky, Arizona and California.Wigwam Village No. 2 is undergoing an extensive renovation to bring it back to its 1930s splendor and authenticity. Your patronage helps pay for ongoing restoration of the property in accordance with federal historical renovation regulations.When you stay at Wigwam Village No. 2, you are helping preserve a beloved piece of Americana.

History Chat on the Patio

When you arrive, you will pull up to the green property manager’s house to the left of the teepees. There, we invite you to sit on the patio and learn a little history about Wigwam Village No. 2. Be sure to flip through the 30-page history book in your room. You can even read it online!

Vintage Playground and Outdoor Fun

Most folks come to Wigwam Village No. 2 to hang out in our comfortable, red wooden deck chairs, enjoying a relaxing evening while the kids run around and explore our vintage playground. There are numerous charcoal grills and picnic tables around the property. There is a covered picnic pavilion for outdoor dining, rain or shine.

Campfire at Dusk

We light a campfire every night. We provide the firewood and skewers. You provide the s'mores and hot dogs. The fire starts around dusk, except during rain or inclement weather. Also, the exact timing depends on whether we are checking in guests.

Provided In Your Room

Your room comes equipped with full-size bed(s) with hygienic duvet linens, memory foam support pillows, standard fill pillows, extra blanket(s), space heater, ceiling fan, air conditioner, coffee maker, regular and decaf coffee, green tea, hot and cold beverage cups, coffee condiments, ice bucket with liner, cable tv, wifi internet, USB charging port, standard duplex outlet, bath towels, washcloths, floor mat, shower curtain, bar soap, body wash, makeup removal towelette, toilet paper, and kitchen size garbage bag. The room is furnished with one or two beds, a vanity table, a side chair, and a luggage rack. Some rooms have a side table and/or a non-functioning radiator.Outside every room are a couple of deck chairs and an ash pot for your butts. Most teepees have small electric panels, so don't expect to plug-in appliances at WWV unless we provide it. Cooking is outdoors, and hair dryers, well, bring a scrunchie. If you bring a CPAP or other medical device, check your outlet placement and text us at 1-833-WIGWAMS to bring an extension cord to your room.

What To Pack

We provide the room, linens, coffee, ice machine, wifi, tv, picnic tables and grills, campfire and parking. You pack a cooler and your camp-out cooking kit. Don't forget marshmallows and hot dogs for the campfire. Guitars and Cadillacs are welcome, but leave the air mattresses and hair dryers at home.

Souvenirs and Gifts

We offer souvenir key fobs, postcards, bumper stickers and T-shirts in our signature red color at check-in. If red isn't your color, or if you want an historic reproduction print or mug, check out all the souvenir gifts and gift cards available at our online store. Feel free to order anything in advance, and we will hold it for your arrival. Allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of our online items.

We live on the site. We are available to assist with any question or concern during your stay. You’ll see us walking around, but you can always get our attention by ringing the doorbell on the green house, or calling or texting us at 1-833-WIGWAMS. No request is too small. Let us know how we can help.

Historic Preservation

During your stay at Wigwam Village No. 2, you probably will see us working on the teepees. We are slowly but surely restoring them to their 1937 glory. Be assured, your safety and enjoyment will not be impacted. All work is conducted in coordination with state and local permitting authorities.

The BigWam

Sorry! The BigWam and public toilet teepees are closed for restoration. But we are working hard to reopen the BigWam as a coffee shop. We hope you'll return soon to see all the progress we are making on our historic preservation goals.


Exploring Cave Country

Our region, affectionately called "Caveland" is a small area with a few stoplights and roads that are easy to navigate.We are surrounded by Mammoth Cave National Park to the West, Amish farmland to the East, and Dixie Highway running North-South in between. Wigwam Village is in Cave City, Ky, smack dab in the middle.

Don't rely on GPS

The best approach to Wigwam Village No. 2 is on the historic Dixie Highway. (31W). Don't let GPS bring you the back way - Old Horse Cave Road - because it's not as dramatic an approach.

This is a wonderful area for scenic drives that wind through scenic farmland, small towns centers, and forests. Let us know if you want some destinations to point your GPS to for a nice drive.

Horse Cave is three miles to the North, and Park City is seven miles to the South. There are two lights on Dixie Highway in Cave City. Broadway is the nearest main street to us, one streetlight south, and leads to downtown Cave City if you turn right to the West. The second light to the south is Happy Valley, a major road regionally. Happy Valley leads to Mammoth Cave National Park to the West, and to the East is Crystal Onyx and the town of Glasgow, Ky. The third light south is Park City, which also leads to Mammoth Cave to the West. The town in North Caveland is Horse Cave, Ky, whose Main Street will take you to several tourist destinations on the East and West of Dixie Highway.

Ask us for our recommendations. We have great local restaurants that will surely tickle your taste buds. If you are staying Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, you will experience some limited options as top restaurants are closed these days to prepare for the busy week ahead.

Visit our Spectacular Caves

Mammoth Cave National Park's tours require reservations and payment in advance. Hiking in the park is free. If you cannot get a reservation, there are privately owned caves that are part of the Mammoth Cave system and do not require reservations. They are beautiful and should be considered. Hidden River Cave in Horse Cave allows pets.

Shopping in Caveland

Caveland is known for its roadside attractions, antique malls and thrift shops. We also have local boutiques for fashion, food and souvenirs. This is a wet county. Bottoms up!

INTRODUCTION AND GENERAL PROVISIONS: Your reservation and the accommodation agreement made with Wigwam Village No. 2, LLC, dba Historic Wigwam Village, (whether made by you directly with Wigwam Village No. 2 or via a third party such as a travel agent) will be subject to these Reservation Terms and Conditions and the Reservation Privacy Policy set out below. When you make your reservation, whether online or by telephone, you will be deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Reservation Terms and Conditions and the Reservation Privacy Policy. If you make your reservation via a travel agent, or other third party, then you have a separate legal relationship with that party and Wigwam Village No. 2, LLC ("Wigwam Village No. 2") has no liability for any acts or omissions of such party including their observance of your data protection rights. RESERVATIONS PROCEDURE AND POLICIES: 1. Online reservations: Third-party reservation services, the Wigwam Village No. 2 website (https://historicwigwamvillage.com), and voice or text reservation services (1-833-WIGWAMS) enable you to check the accommodation offerings and availability of Wigwam Village No. 2 motel (and related products and services), and then submit an online or telephone reservation request. On completion of the reservation process, each reservation source will transmit an online or email confirmation of your reservation or provide a verbal confirmation of your reservation number. A reservation is only valid when a reservation number has been issued. Relevant details relating to products and services must be confirmed by you directly with the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel. 2. Motel Prices: The prices indicated on the Wigwam Village No. 2 website and telephone facility for the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel rooms, products and services are subject to availability. Continental breakfast is only included if indicated in the rate policy. Taxes and service charges are only included if indicated in the rate policy. 3. Payment: It will be necessary for you to provide credit card details to secure a room, product, or service reservation. The credit card may then be used by the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel for pre-payment in full, for payment of a deposit as advised at the time of booking, or as a guarantee for a future payment, in the case of a no-show, cancellation, or change to the reservation. 4. Cancellations and Modifications: You should make any cancellations or modifications to your reservation using the same Wigwam Village No. 2 channel through which you booked, either online, or by telephone. If you booked via Wigwam Village No. 2 website, you should reply to the confirmation email. The cancellations and modifications policy that applies to your reservation will depend on the respective Wigwam Village No. 2 motel's policy as advised at the time of booking. 5. Rate/Reservation ValidityReservation confirmations are provided to you solely for your convenience. Wigwam Village No. 2 retains official records of reservation transactions, including details of dates of stay and room, product, and service rates. In the event of discrepancies, alterations, modifications, or variations between this confirmation and our official records, Wigwam Village No. 2’s official records shall prevail. Tampering with this confirmation to alter any room, product, or service rate or any other reservation information is strictly prohibited and will have legal consequences. 6. Early Departure: Wigwam Village No. 2 has an early departure penalty fee, and some room, product, and service rates may also require a minimum stay. You may change your check-out date without a penalty only if your rate and the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel’s policy permits. 7. Currency: Reservations will be charged in the motel’s local currency as shown on the Wigwam Village No. 2 website or given over the telephone at the time of booking. The price shown is based on today’s exchange rate. Any currency conversion is for guidance only. A foreign currency transaction may be charged by your card provider. Any deposits or pre-payments will be deducted from the final reservation invoice in the motel’s local currency. A refund of a deposit or prepayment, if any, will be subject to the exchange rate applied by your payment card provider at the time of any such refund and may differ from the exchange rate applied at the time such deposit or prepayment was made. 8. Rate Requirements: As some rates have special requirements at check-in, you should verify that you qualify for the rate that you have reserved. Wigwam Village No. 2 is not obligated to honor this rate if you do not qualify or do not have proof of qualification. 9. Prepaid Reservations: Some rate plans require prepayment in full and are non-cancellable, non-refundable, non-changeable and non-transferable. This will be identified in the rate description. For these rate plans, once you make a reservation your credit card will be charged for the full amount. Credit will not be given for any unused reservation and the amount paid by you for such reservation cannot be used toward any other/future reservation.10. Guarantee Rules: For reservations guaranteed with a credit card at the time of making your reservation, rooms are held until the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel check-out time on the day following the day of arrival. The Wigwam Village No. 2 motel may authorize the room, product, or service rate before arrival and reserve funds, including taxes, on the credit card to determine the validity of the credit card. Rooms, products, or services booked with an invalid credit card are subject to immediate cancellation.11. Overbooking: In the event that a guest cannot be accommodated due to the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel overbooking or an unforeseen circumstance, the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel will attempt to accommodate guests, at its expense, at a comparable property in the area for the night(s) for which the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel is unable to accommodate such guests, and will pay for transportation to that property. 12. Special Requests: Wigwam Village No. 2 motels will strive to honor any request for specific rooms or beds. Until specific confirmation is issued then your request cannot be guaranteed and Wigwam Village No. 2 motel cannot guarantee that your request will be honored.13. Pets: Wigwam Village No. 2 welcomes pets and assumes no responsibility or liability for pets accompanying our guests. Pets entering the grounds and/or guest rooms must be registered. Guests are responsible for all damages caused by their pets. 14. External services: Wigwam Village No. 2 may advertise the opportunity to purchase products or services from independent third-party suppliers (“independent suppliers”) including, by way of illustration only and without limitation, excursions, kayak charters and cave passes (“external services”). The following provisions apply to all external services:(i) All information on the Wigwam Village No. 2 website or otherwise communicated by Wigwam Village No. 2 regarding external services has been provided to Wigwam Village No. 2 by independent suppliers. Guest’s obligations: You agree to the terms and conditions of purchase imposed by Wigwam Village No. 2. You also agree that you are fully responsible and shall pay for all charges, fees, duties, taxes, assessments and other amounts arising out of your reservation when due, including additional taxes and fees that may not be included in the quoted rate.You understand that any violation of a Wigwam Village No. 2 motel’s terms and conditions may result in the cancellation of your reservation and you forfeit any monies paid for such reservation and a Wigwam Village No. 2 motel debiting your account for any costs it incurs as a result of such violation.16. Privacy and data protection: Our Reservation Privacy Policy (set out below) will apply to your reservation and forms part of these Reservation Terms and Conditions.17. Intellectual Property Rights: Any copyright and other intellectual property in the content and materials on the Wigwam Village No. 2 website remains with Wigwam Village No. 2. Downloading, copying or otherwise using any material on the Wigwam Village No. 2 website is permitted only for private use and limited to the sole purpose of making an Wigwam Village No. 2 motel reservation.18. Force Majeure: Wigwam Village No. 2 will not be liable for any change or cancellation of any reservation that is caused, in whole or in part, by events, occurrences, or causes beyond the control of Wigwam Village No. 2. Such events, occurrences, or causes include, without limitation, acts of God, pandemics, epidemics, terrorist activities, weather, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts of war, earthquake, volcanic activity, ash clouds, tsunamis, fire and explosions.19. Limitations: Wigwam Village No. 2 is not responsible for communication malfunctions, failures, difficulties or lost, stolen, or misdirected transmissions, messages or entries, or the security of any such communications to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws. Further, Wigwam Village No. 2 is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by user(s), by any of the equipment or programming associated with the reservations platforms, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of any information related to the reservations platforms and shall not be liable for damages resulting from any of the foregoing to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws.Wigwam Village No. 2 may cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a user has engaged in a fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error. 20. Governing Law: These Reservation Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Kentucky, USA and the courts of Kentucky, USA shall have exclusive jurisdiction to any dispute in relation thereto.21. PART 2: RESERVATION PRIVACY POLICY
This Reservation Privacy Policy provides you with information about the personal data Wigwam Village No. 2 collects in connection with the reservation at Wigwam Village No. 2 motel, why we need to collect it, how it will be used, who it will be shared with and your rights to it. The personal data Wigwam Village No. 2 collects to complete your reservation and arrange its fulfillment Wigwam Village No. 2 needs to collect the following personal data as part of the reservation process:your first and last name; your email address; your country of residence; details of your payment card including the card number, cardholder name, expiry date, and CVV number. You may also, if you wish, provide Wigwam Village No. 2 with:your postal address (home or business);your mobile phone number while traveling; preferred contact telephone number. The personal data you provide Wigwam Village No. 2 in the course of the reservation process will be referred to in this Reservation Privacy Policy as the Reservation Data. How Wigwam Village No. 2 uses the Reservation Data. Wigwam Village No. 2 will be the data controller of the Reservation Data. Wigwam Village No. 2 must process the Reservation Data so that the contract for your motel reservation can be fulfilled and take all necessary steps including transmitting the Reservation Data to Wigwam Village No. 2 based in the United States. Wigwam Village No. 2 may appoint a third party (either within or outside the United States) to process the Reservation Data. Concerning any transfers of the Reservation Data outside the United States necessary to complete and fulfill the reservation, Wigwam Village No. 2 has put in place all necessary legal, technical, and organizational measures to ensure the protection of the Reservation Data, details of which can be obtained on request from Wigwam Village No. 2 (contact@historicwigwamvillage.com). Wigwam Village No. 2 will only share the Reservation Data with its appointed data processors. Upon receipt of the Reservation Data, the Wigwam Village No. 2 motel will become a data controller of the Reservation Data and will use it for all purposes necessary to fulfill your reservation including contacting you before your stay.  Wigwam Village No. 2 will not use the Reservation Data for any purpose other than fulfilling your reservation and will need your specific consent to use it for any other purpose. PART 3: WIGWAM VILLAGE NO. 2 SALE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please note, motel accommodation payments, including all rates, taxes, and fees, must be paid in full at the time of reservation. Reservations are recommended but not required. We are happy to cancel or modify your reservation up until 3 pm Central Time 3 days before your scheduled arrival. Cancellations made before this cut-off time will be assessed a fee equal to $35/ bed/ night for any portion of the reservation that is canceled, and the balance will be refunded to your card. Cancellations made after the cut-off time (3 pm Central Time 3 days before arrival), including No Shows, are not eligible for refunds. Additionally, reservations made 0-3 days prior to the stay date are nonrefundable. There are no exceptions to this policy.
