Our 80+ acre nature-resort is located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, offering accommodations in rustic glamping safari-style tents, wooden cabins, and comfortable lagoon-side cottages. Our property is an outdoor-enthusiasts haven, surrounded by walking, hiking & cycling trails, one of BC's most beautiful lakes for swimming, and paddling, with onsite boat & board rentals as well as a private dock and small beach, onsite lakeside yoga classes, and a mountain biker's pump track. Our property also features a large lagoon which doubles as a natural wildlife and bird sanctuary, and the property is home to hundreds of birds (both wild and tame), beavers, otters, deer, raccoons, squirrels, and more! Our renowned onsite restaurant offers authentic northern Italian cuisine, with both indoor lake-view dining, as well as outdoor seating on our covered waterfront patio.
We are a small family business, run by real people with a genuine love and appreciation for our beautiful natural setting, as well as for wellness and travel. Property and Cancellation Policies :
If you cancel less than 7 days before your reservation date, there will be no refund and the deposit amount charge will apply.
If you cancel within 48 hours the full cost of your booking will be applied.
All cancellations must be in writing and dated.
For booking made at a time when previous cancellations policy applied, that policy – outlined on your confirmation document will still apply. For bookings made through 3rd party sites such as through expedia, booking.com, airBnB, etc – applicable cancellation policies will apply.

MINIMUM STAY 2 night stay minimum on all weekends (exceptions made for last minute bookings - subject to availability)
PETS We are happy to offer a handful of selected dog-friendly cottages and safari tents. If you would like to bring your pet along please make sure that when you make your initial reservation you have selected one of our pet-friendly accommodations. Single time pet fee applicable: $25 for safari tents, $35 in the cottages.
Please bring a pet-bed, food & water dishes, and keep them on a leash while outside on the property at all times.
Any pets, or evidence of pets, found in cottages or tents which are not designated pet-friendly accommodations will incur a non-negotiable fee of $100/night.
CHECK IN /CHECK OUT Check-in time is from 3:00 pm onwards and checkout time is by 11:00 am. If you are expecting a late arrival (9 pm or later) please be sure to notify us in advance and we will work out specific check-in instructions, based on your ETA and the current season. Other arrangements with written approval from management may be available upon request. If you are late to check out without obtaining permission from staff first, charges will be incurred, at $50 per fraction of each hour surpassed.
TOWELS: Bath towels are provided for in-room use only. Please note that we do NOT provide beach towels, nor permit the use of our bathtowels at the beach. Please be sure to pack towels along with you.
SMOKE FREE All buildings at Ruby Lake Resort are smoke-free. Any evidence of smoking in cottages or tents, including on balconies or patios, will incur a non-negotiable fee of $100 per night of stay. If you are a smoker please ask us about our designated smoking areas. VISITORS: No visitors after 11 p.m. Visitors must notify Front Desk upon their arrival. Visitors must be accompanied by the registered guest at all times. Visitors are not allowed to use guest amenities including the BBQ facilities, private beach and dock, pump track, wi-fi, etc. As a registered guest, you are responsible for your visitor at all times. HOUSEKEEPING: Our housekeeping staff will be happy to service your cottage during their regular working hours, apx 10 am – 3 pm daily. If, during this time, house-keeping comes by and finds your “do not disturb” sign in place – note that they will not be back again outside of these hours for servicing. In efforts to minimize needless water pollution, we do not change sheets and linens daily. If you need your linens changed during your stay, please notify front desk. Any towels placed in bathtub will be replaced - those hanging up will not. Housekeeping staff is required to enter the room at subsequent times to clean the room, check for safety, and verify the condition of the room. Management reserves the right to enter a room for reasonable purposes, such as an emergency, housekeeping, maintenance, verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Policies. In the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to aid in eviction. The right to privacy ends when a Policy is broken. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to hotel property and rooms ofevicted guests. Please note that daily housekeeping is notprovided in our safari tents. Fresh linens, housekeeping service, additional supplies such as soaps etc will be provided on a request basis, or every 3rd day for long stays. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: Room occupancy requirements are based on insurance policies. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will beasked to rent another guestroom for proper accommodations or vacate the hotel,no refunds. Please ensure the declare all guests regardless of age – including babies.
ROOM KEYS: Room keys are issued to the registered guest(s). No room keys will be issued to youth under 18 at any time. Please returnroom keys to Front Desk at Check-out. Failure to return keys will incurcharges, of $50 per un-returned/lost key.
QUIET HOURS: 11 pm – 9 am are quiet hours. This applies to both indoor and outdoor spaces. Pleaserespect your fellow guests’ peace and abide by this policy. If you become awareof a disruptive guest, please contact Front Desk staff via phone or in person.
ALCOHOL POLICY: Registered guests of legal age who choose tobring their own alcoholic beverages must consume those in their room. Alcohol is not allowed in public areas such as at the beach, on the dock, footbridge, trails, or gardens. Alcohol consumed during special events served by a licensed caterer with permit to serve/sale alcohol is restricted to those of age (valid ID required) and can only be consumed at that event venue
NO IN-ROOM PARTY: Ruby Lake Resort enforces a No In-Room PartyPolicy to ensure we can protect the hotel and our guests at all times. Noparties, loud disturbances and/or noise-nuisance are allowed or tolerated onthese premises. In the event of a disturbance, one polite request (warning)will be given to reduce the noise. If our request is not followed, theguest will be asked to leave the hotel without refund
DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTYYou are liable for any damage howsoevercaused (whether by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room (s),hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party whetheror not staying at the hotel during your stay. Ruby Lake Resort reservesthe right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented atregistration and charge or debit the credit /debit card such amounts as itshall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the costor expenses incurred or suffered by Ruby Lake Resort as a result of theaforesaid. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed,we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debitcard for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during yourstay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing ordamaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contractingspecialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keepany costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT: Guest Rooms found with waste strewn around,in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to maintenance deepcleaning fee, administration fee and/or third party fees.
DAMAGE TO ROOM: Damage to rooms,fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronicequipment, towels, art work, etc. will be charge at 100% of full and newreplacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotelproperty, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of theregistered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated withrepairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registeredguest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.
DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING:Damage to mattresses and linen including;towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use ofbody oils, make-up, shoe-polish, or wine spills, etc. will result in a chargefor the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.
DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTIONSYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT:Ruby Lake Resort reserve the right to takeaction against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered withany detection equipment within the accommodations. Guests or visitorsfound to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment willbe charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions, as wellas the $100 per night smoking penalty fee, and will be evicted from thehotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcementmay become involved at the hotel’s discretion. Should the fact thatfire-fighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light afterthe guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us tocharge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or theHotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for allproperty damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guestcompensation, etc.
PARKING AT OWN RISK:All vehicles are parked at the risk of theowner. Ruby Lake Resort shall not assume liability or responsibility forany vehicle, occupants, or contents while operated or parked on the hotelproperty.
LOST & FOUND POLICY:Ruby Lake Resort assumes no liability forlost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discoverthat you have left behind something of value to you, please call us # (604) 8832269 and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item. Any belongings, with the exception ofperishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by housekeepingor other staff, will be collected, and kept in a secure location for collectionby the owner for up to fourteen (14) days. Reasonable effort will be madeto notify the guest that an item has been found. Perishable items,underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded. Any items remaining inour last and find at the end and closure of a season will be discarded ordonated to a thrift store or otherwise.
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE: Ruby Lake Resort is privately owned andoperated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for anyreason(s) that does not violate federal laws. Ruby Lake Resort has a zerotolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service oraccommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refusesto abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the owners forthe operation and management of the hotel. Ruby Lake Resort will refuse serviceor evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations, is underthe influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance and actsin a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not incompliance with applicable liquor laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as todisturb the peace of other guests; is unable to properly supervise theirchildren at all times, seeks to use the property for an unlawful purpose; seeksto bring into the hotel: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or something,including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful topossess and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces,or threatens harm to hotel property or guests; causes or permits persons toexceed the maximum allowable occupancy of room, refuses to abide by thereasonable standards or policies established by Ruby Lake Resort.
