Nestled in the Chippewa National Forest, the Timberwolf Inn consists of a Lodge, Restaurant and Lounge. Whether its business or pleasure we offer 12 spacious hotel rooms, with queen log beds and all your amenities. In addition to the Lodge, enjoy a delightful dining experience featuring homemade, made from scratch items. We offer everything from a burger to a scrumptious seafood and steak dinner. We also have nightly dinner specials consisting of homemade entrees, fresh seafood, hand cut tender prime steaks and so much more! Our food is sure to satisfy any connoisseur. The Lounge overlooks our huge deck, where you can enjoy lunch accompanied by your favorite cocktail, wine or beer.
Located 28 miles north of Grand Rapids and just South of Bigfork on Scenic byway 38. With over a 100 lakes within a 20 mile radius, there is no shortage of things to do. You can go to your choice of lakes and catch anything from Sunfish to Walleye to Muskies. There are also hiking trails and canoe routes nearby. With large tracts of National Forest, Minnesota State and Itasca County Land, there is plenty to explore.
In the fall the grouse hunting can be the best you will find anywhere. See the fall colors at the end of September and the beginning of October. There are fall color tours, and the colors alone are worth a trip to the Northwoods. During the winter months, don’t forget about us. We are open year round and are located directly on the snowmobile trail.

Our system automatically assigns room numbers and will make adjustments to accommodate the maximum number of guests. 1st floor or 2nd floor rooms are not guaranteed as well as the handicap king room. Terms and Conditions
The Timberwolf Inn is now DOG FREE. We do not allow pets of any kind with the exception of service dogs and upon request during hunting season. Credit cards are not charged upon booking. Credit cards are not charged until your check in date.
1. No Smoking - Smoking indoors has been banned since 2007
- This applies to cigarettes, marijuana, vapes, etc.
- Smoking in the rooms will result in a $200 cleaning fee.
- Tampering with the smoke alarms will also result in additional fines.
- No smoking directly outside of doors - this is for all hotel rooms and our main entrances to the restaurant and bar.
- The Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act prohibits smoking of any kind within 25 feet of entrances, exits, open windows, and ventilation intakes.
- The Timberwolf Inn is now PET FREE in all our rooms, BOOKINGS PRIOR TO AUGUST 15TH, 2024 WILL BE HONORED - DOGS ONLY.
- There will be a $200 fee for anyone who brings in a dog (or any animal) without consent and rooms with dogs are subject to an additional cleaning fee if there are messes or damages resulting from a dog.
- Dogs will need to be removed from the property if there are any complaints about excessive barking.
- There is a mandatory quiet time enforced from 10pm to 10am. There is no extended loitering outside of rooms. There is an apartment located upstairs and we are surrounded by neighbors. The sheriff will be called on violators and potential removal from the property.
- Our property is not for guest use outside of our business hours. This includes, but not limited to our parking lots, grassy areas, backyard, and patio. Violators will be removed from the property and if any damages occur the guest(s) will be subject to additional fines.
- All rooms are subject to additional cleaning fees and fines related to excessive messes or damages. This includes (but not limited to) mud/dirt on carpets, stains, ruined/excessively messy linens, and any other damage/messes or vandalism of any kind.
- All furniture must stay in rooms. Furniture is not to be relocated outside or to other rooms.
- The Timberwolf Inn Management team has the right to remove guests from our property/rooms when they are in violation of these policies.
- An active credit card is required to have on file upon check in. This card will be charged appropriately for violations of any of the policies written above.
