CANCELLATION AND CHANGE POLICIES
As a small, independent property, we ask for your understanding and adherence to our cancellation, change, and no-show policies. Please read carefully. If you must change, shorten or cancel your reservation, do so within the time frame indicated below for a full refund, less the specified change/cancellation fee (per room). If a reservation is canceled or shortened after the cancellation period expires, the guest is responsible for full payment of the original reservation unless re-booking the room(s). Changes or cancellations must be made via phone, and must be confirmed by email from
The Seagull Bay Motel. There are no refunds for early departure.
NO SHOW POLICY
In the event of a no show, the total cost of the stay will be billed to the card on file.
If you cancel your reservation after the cancellation period expires, we will attempt to re-book your room as a courtesy to you plus a $50 fee. Your room will be re-booked at the rate of the initial reservation.
STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICIES
To receive a complete refund for 1-3 night stay, 1-3 rooms requires 72 hours notice prior to the 3pm check-in time for the day of your reservation. Prior notice of 14 days is required to avoid a $50 fee per
room for shortening, or changing a stay of 3 or more nights, or for three or more rooms. Canceling rooms within this time frame of 3 or more rooms will result in a charge of half the total bill for each room canceled.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
We want to make your check-in and check-out as easy and seamless as possible.
Mobile Check-In Process
• You will receive a text message from us the morning
of your arrival.
• This message will include a map of the property, your
room number, and where your key is.
• You may text or call us back at any time if you could
like to reach us.
• You may request to meet us in the office if you would
like. If you see staff around the property stop us and
say, “Hi” we would love to see you!
• Thank you for learning along with us in this new normal.
Check-In is between 3pm and 6pm. If you are arriving
later than 6pm, please let us know so we can make
arrangements to provide you with a room key.
Check-Out is at 10am. Please drop your key into the
basket labeled “Keys” on your way out. Failure to do so
may result in a $25 replacement fee. With notice we
can accommodate some late checkout requests. Late
checkout costs are $25 per hour. Please submit your
request the night before.
Seagull Bay Motel has been smoke-free since 1997. We are committed to provide a clean clear and fresh experience for you and any guest staying in the room following your stay. Renting a room means accepting our smoke free policy. We do not permit smoking or the use of tobacco or tobacco products, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, hookahs, incense or cigars. Also prohibited
are burning candles, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils. Our smoke free facility policy include rooms, and anywhere on Seagull Bay Motel grounds.
WE DO NOT HAVE A SMOKING AREA.
Smoking of any kind will result in a $250 cleaning fee so that the room’s next guests will be able to enjoy the smoke free experience we are committed to providing to all our guests. Guests are encouraged to notify the front desk staff immediately if they smell smoke.
We welcome you and your canine friend to stay at the Seagull Bay Motel with approval. Please contact the front desk prior to your arrival.
• There is a nightly fee of $35 per dog.
• Failure to check in your pet(s) will result in $50 fee.
By bringing a dog you agree to abide by the full dog
friendly facility policy:
• Dogs are not to be left unattended in guest rooms;
they must go with you at all times.
• Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their
companion immediately on grounds and properly
disposing of the waste in the outside dumpster or as

Please show respect for other guests and keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 9pm and 8am. If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact management immediately by phone or in person. The volume of televisions, voices, or other devices must be kept at a respectful, level at all times. Please open and close doors quietly. If you are the cause of disruption to another guest, you may be asked to leave and will not be provided a refund.
Seagull Bay Motel is a non-hosted facility with management and staff on site only between the hours of 7am and 7pm during the high season (Summer). During low season (Winter) management and staff are on site between 9am and 3pm. The on-call manager can be reached by text at 715-200-4650 or by calling 715-779-5558. If there is no answer please leave a message so they will return your call as soon as possible.
One free off-street parking space is typically available for each guest room. Additional off-street parking is very limited. Additional free parking is available on nearby streets, but please respect the neighboring businesses and do not park in their parking lots; your vehicle may be towed. Seagull Bay Motel is not responsible for damage to vehicles or for damage or loss of property in parked
vehicles, regardless of location.
Occupancy is between two and six people, depending on the specific room. Please let us know if you plan to have more than two people per room. There is an additional $15 fee per person per night in excess of two per room. Children 6 and under stay free.
Guests must be 21 years or older with photo identification to check-in. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Seagull Bay Motel reserves the right to check photo identification.
CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION AND PAYMENT
A valid credit card is required to make a reservation. We accept all major credit cards. Your credit card and a valid ID must be presented at check-in, at which time your card will be charged for your entire stay.
All reservations are subject to 8% City of Bayfield 8.5% State of Wisconsin and .5% Premier Resort Tax.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
Bayfield’s weather is constantly changing. Please understand that we cannot be responsible for inclement weather or other causes for delays and cancellations
at your point of origin or the locations you may connect through when traveling to visit us. We strongly advise you to purchase travel insurance if you are traveling during
periods of inclement weather or you have other reasons to suspect you may need to cancel your reservation.
SPECIAL DATE CANCELLATION POLICY
Apple Fest Cancellations: Due to the high volume of guests we receive each Fall for the Bayfield Apple Fest.If you have reserved a room with us that weekend and need to cancel we are only able to refund your charge if it is 30 days prior to the start of Apple Fest.
MINIMUM NIGHT STAY
Our standard minimum night stay on high season and weekends is two nights including both Friday and Saturday. Some holidays and special events may be
subject to longer minimums. Rooms are sometimes available for single night stays at an increased rate.
LOST AND FOUND
There is a box at the front desk with items found at the motel. You will be asked for a description before said item is returned to you. Valuable items (for example money, gold, or jewelry) will be transferred the same day as we find them to the local police station. Used items such as food and personal care products will not be placed in lost and found but willbe thrown in the trash. Other items such as clothing will be stored at the Front Desk for one week before disposal. Please contact the motel at 715-779-5558 for inquires.
Seagull Bay Motel will return lost property with appropriate identification. Within the United States, the motel will ship lost property back to you. Shipping costs will be a minimum of $25, depending on the size and content of the lost property. Seagull Bay Motel is not responsible for damage or loss of property left at the motel.
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Guests are responsible for any damage or loss they cause to the property. Guests may be charged for cleaning fees, damaged/stained towels, linens, and other soft goods. Please see the smoking policy for more detail on our smoke-free facility policy above.
Reservations are limited to three rooms to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all guests. If you have a larger group, please call or email our office to make a special request for a group requiring three or more rooms. We will consider your request in advance of processing your reservation. Reservation requests submitted online for three or more rooms, or individual online reservation requests to fulfill a group reservation of three or more rooms will be unconfirmed until specifically confirmed by a manager via email.
PARTIES, EVENTS, AND GATHERINGS
To ensure all guests enjoy the comfort and safety of the facilities we offer, Seagull Bay Motel upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding unapproved parties, events, and gatherings. Private events at Seagull Bay Motel that include guests not staying at the property require prior approval. Any person on our premises creating excessive noise or disturbance, or whose presence exceeds the permitted
number of guests per room will be requested to leave. The guest(s) with the reservation may also be asked to leave without refund. A separate events agreement and additional fees may
